What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Not a great start to potentially a chastening day. Schoolboy error with choice of sauce for pheasant produced a 5,6 this a.m (sherry and mustard - sherry- you clownshoe); Julie couldn't reach the switch to turn on all the lights after 1 bulb blew last night (I was asleep) so no light; Spurs will probably get their *rses handed to them tonight (like they did when my son treated me to very nice tickets).

I've spent a large part of my life in 'foreign climes' but in my early to teen years it was common to have snow Oct-Nov and then again Jan-Mar. The region is higher than people think (see map) with some areas exceeding the 1000ft mark.

Just to give some idea of the relative difference - what is this sea level of which you talk? Also, frost and needing to break ice on top of chickens water - and so it begins:arghh::arghh::arghh:

To be absolutely precise we are here - a massive 46 ft above sea level. @ziggy_w those 3 images flesh out the whereabouts I am in the UK - nicely isolated thanks:)

5.9 reflects dinner out last night with wine. It was tapas but you really don't know exactly what's in the ingredients. It was very nice I might add so probably sugar in there somewhere!

I did my home hba1c test Saturday using a1cnow kit. (10 purchased for £117). I have my next DN appointment to have lab test in November and the figure shows I'm on track for a good result. 33. Thrilled if it is as my last one in May was 41. I'm also tracking on the mysugr app and that estimates 34.1. Thrilled with that too.

Today I'm dropping my grandaughter off at nursery after having her for a few days whilst her mum went to enjoy her 30th birthday present (long weekend in Benidorm!). Then a quick tidy up and meeting my friend for lunch. She has had a terrible few years with her health and is still battling along. But she is always positive and cheerful. I'm taking her for lunch to celebrate her 70th.

No reply from my DN from an email i sent a week ago. I hope she is on leave and not ignoring me!

Happy Monday folks x
