What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.9 and I am amazed :wideyed:

Last night I had a late call and was 'dragged' out to the reopening of the local pub (I'm not a pub goer but 'free food' was mentioned). Ended up with steak & ale pie, chips and peas, followed by ice cream.

I'd like to think I understood my diabetes but I don't.

Late call to pub.:D
FREE FOOD as well..:D:D

Steak pie,
WITH chips, peas AND ice cream..:wideyed:
( The axis of EVIL :***: )

And you score a super..... FIVE.NINE
on the Meter of LIES ..:woot:

I'd do the lotto double quick time.
Luck like that don't last..;)

Never mind that.....I'd be checking the bottom of my shoe LOL

Morning all, another week eh? Despite being a self employed artist - ie have a job I love and can work whenever I like , the week end is still something special ,- he ho on with the week. 4.3 this morning on the meter. - Let the week commence....

Morning All. 6.1 at 5am and 6.5 at 8am. So I am going for low 6. Today am having breakfast at 9am or 10am and nothing but tea and water until early supper at 5 or 6pm. Not sure how to improve FBG but tomo I might do something different!
@karen8967 hugs for the hypo.
@HarrisonK that was a very lucky escape. Envy!
Some great scores looking at you @DJC3 and @OrsonKartt.
@Goacher55 made me laugh, a little of what you fancy but not too often eh.
Have a good Monday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

Morning...a wet & drizzly Monday to start my week... hoping after my second coffee I'll have the impetus to at least get dressed & maybe even comb my hair...I scraped my leg last week quite badly took a lot of skin off...so far it refuses to 'settle' down...fingers crossed there's no infection...woke to a 6.1 my highest for a while.

Another reading in the 4s - (4.8). This has not happened since I came off insulin. Maybe if you have T2 for years it just takes years of low carb/keto and learning about which foods/herbs really work for you to get normal numbers.
Great level to start the week with @Krystyna23040 and amazing progress with no insulin as well. There seems to be something in the idea it takes time to reverse a situation that has clearly taken time to develop - thinking type 2 here. I also wonder if some of us are designed to run at the higher end of non diabetic bg levels, anyhow. Chasing the lower fbg and HbA1c levels may be flat out harmful for some. Not seen any links to scholarly articles around that subject on here. Anyhow, chasing Unicorns is so en vogue just now.

I do agree with you that it maybe takes years to reverse a situation that has taken years to develop. But also - we have to be mindful that we are all individuals and that maybe our normal is not to run with very low fbg and low hbA1c.

So I have decided not to 'beat myself up' if I suddenly go back to the 5s and just enjoy the 4s when they do happen.

That is terrific number after quitting insulin...you have given me something to think about!

I found out years ago that Elizabeth Arden 8 hour skin protectant (make sure its the original not the cream) is quite amazing for healing cuts and grazes. You can get a small size on Amazon reasonable cost). I think they tested it on astronauts or did I just imagine that! Hope your day gets better.

Thanks PM I'll have a look on Amazon.
