Free food!! Where do we sign??

Oxford is full of 'oddities' this morning, May Day is well and truly celebrated here. Not that I have taken part in any of the the 'celebrations' this morning........
I couldn't be bothered to get up for the singing but I saw a few stragglers around The Bear

Greeting fellow type 1, hope you are all well.

I am convinced that my Libre is wrong. Finger pricks have advised they are actually fairly accurate. For the past 2 days I have not hit double figures on any occasion and my last 24 hours i have been in target 86% of the time BG 4.5--BG 8.0. For me these figures are unheard of.

Maybe this pump thingy is worth the hassle after all. Will need to think of a name for it/him/her

Woohoo :). Takes a while but sooooo worth it :) I have loads of names for mine......most of them would be moderated out :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Or you could put on a screening of Pobol Y Cwm and get them to analyse Welsh social structures? Or play words from north and south Welsh and get them to understand the differences?

Yep, all that as well :)

Hope Mel's getting on okay:)

Back from clinic - HbA1C of 36 with not too many hypos. On the strength of that I sit here munching Oriental Happy Crackers (sesame, seaweed, puffed bulgar wheat) - kind of like tiny rice crispy puff things but with a nice oriental flavour). Yum yum!

And I eat "a perfect vegan diet". Whoa! I want that in writing!!

Big congratulations @WuTwo as I said to Knikki earlier on....are you sure you are T1D?? :hilarious:

:hilarious::hilarious: Well, I know I am if I forget to bolus, or if I go berserk with the carbs at a meal (doing that really screws with insulin's behaviour for me)....

Oh, and when I sneakily eat one of the hypo Oreos (hard to get past the biccie barrel without dipping in sometimes)....

Here is what I remember for two generous portions:
- fry/sweat down one leek and a punnet of white mushrooms in olive oil and a knob of butter
- add 150g (yes, I weighed it) arborio rice and coat with oil
- gradually add veggie stock with a glug (I didn't measure it) of mushroom ketchup (this stuff: https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/251225471)
- take insulin for about 60g carbs per portion. With the pump I took a combo bolus of 60% up front and 40% over 2 hours. If injecting, I suggest a split bolus of similar proportions
- once most of the liquid has been absorbed and the rice is cooked, turn off the heat and add a handful of parmesan (or vegetarian equivalent)
- enjoy
I suspect it would go well with a chilled white wine.

Yay - thank you!!
