Hello lovely folks
Been a grey day today with light rain
Been a grey day today with light rain
Sorry about Tilly but as your nurse said these sensitive creatures get us through many troubles and are so loyal. Have managed to skip lunch today with two CWC so theres something in it. I dont want to get too hooked though, my weight has hit a plateau despite dropping two sizes. D is a crafty old fiend!Haha I am trying to get used to having my coffee black! I found I was going through buckets of cream and far too much coffee I think. I’m trying to keep CWC as an after meal treat, often instead of a pud.
Such a shame about your friend’s situation and her little dog getting old and frail too. 17 is a great age but doesn’t make it any better.
When our little terrier died last year I was grief stricken - it hit me much harder that I anticipated. It was my Macmillan nurse who pointed out that Tilly had been with me as a source of comfort and a reason to get me up in the morning through the very worst times.
Oh...Milk of Magnesia in the blue bottle...my mother loved it but I soon learnt to keep tum issues to myself just in case! Then there was a tincture which was really foul (I think against worms?) that she would pin us down on a bench and drop it in our mouths. I really dont know why.(Shudder) now y'all have got me remembering kaopectate. (Shudder.) Has the opposite use of milk of magnesia, which is just as shudder-worthy.
I'll take prune juice any day.
That post and @dunelm's chocolate olive cake prompted a sliding doors/join the dots moment for me - I'm from the Fens so a bit thick. Over the last year I have seen very respectable body composition stats without any improvement in bg control. 100% chocolate and that cake are perfect examples of foods I have tried as they are low carb but strongly disliked. During the last year there is a growing list of foods that , LC or not, I just won't eat. Hopefully, I am just refining my food range - it is getting quite narrow but unless I am medically directed to urgently eat x, y or z food I am determined not to eat anything else just because it is LC. Long winded way of saying try things you learn of on here but be honest with yourself about what you can tolerate or you won't stay the course.
I think that is the point @DJC3 - be honest about up with what you can put. Both of us have had long enough to work that out and have taken enough readings to know some LC foods/recipes just aren't worth the faff - they neither please nor keep bg low.
This morning FBG a light and fluffy 5.7
dry for the most part in the capital, showers expected at 3 pm.
@alf_Josiah ..hope you enjoyed the trip..east coast ? is that a future planned ride out, or one you arranged and actually went on ?
and i take it that's a pretty organised meeting / ride out you attended.
@dunelm..how i envy you the run out to the moors, takes ages to get out of London, really.
first stop proper is probably Box hill..(if i don't count richmond park.....and i don't ..)
Had a bit of a disaster sunday..big meet planned ..swapped indicators and rear rack sat night ..in prep for a 5 minute refit next am...Yep, should have known..NOTHING is ever a 5 minute job, when you NEED to be somewhere.
Blew a fuse....AND the relay..but had a universal alternative..did NOT work..
Meeting over..ho hum
Off out this AM/..now PM..( thank you again Dunelm.) .to refit new relay and see what other damage i may have done.
Everyone, i hope you all have a good day,
may your gods go with you, and always look over you.
What is it your cholesterol they want reduced by 40%...that sounds like madness 3.6 is absolutely fine Goacher & the 6.6 is not far off the mark...I hope you got some praise for your results...they should be encouraging you at the vey least...sod em' I saySo my millionth search of my test results and voila, there they are HBa1c is 6.6 ( they want 6.5) And my cholesterol is 3.6 they want it reducing by 40 % damned if you do, damned if you don’t !
I once led a Rideout from the Ace cafe to Divines cafe in Wiltshire, the first 26 miles were spent just getting out of Mordor as I call London.
I like to sneak up to the York's Moors and Dales, the roads are brilliant biking roads with excellent scenery.
I hope you have sorted your bike out by now. As for god's I like Dave Allen's phrase " may your God go with you " . I don't decry anybody's belief as long as they leave me alone.
I had to do that Deb several years ago...it was hard work & it took me three days...good luck. They all need cleaning thoroughly, tile grout n dusty etc.

All done, it looks fab. Then hubby came in and said 'you did it with a wet cloth! Didnt you?' Appatently its not only elbow grease that's required but a dry cloth too! I told him where to go in a very short 2 word sentenceI understand, Debandez. We had our walls and ceilings re- plastered and there was more plaster on the floor than anywhere else!Don't do too much at once.

Oh, SaskiaKC. Now you are bringing back childhood memories! My grandma used to give me a tablespoon of "Scot's Emulsion"-- Cod liver oil in white, slimy gloop!I'm glad I was not of the generation of kids who were given cod liver oil and castor oil!
