What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Have not heard that "up with which I will not put" in decades!!! If I say it, ppl look at me blankly. Eleanor Roosevelt or Mark Twain, was it?
@zauberflote , It also sounds a bit like a Yoda quote from Star wars. :D

Eg: "Already know you that which you need". :)

My DN has enthused in my notes. It’s the guidelines for high risk patients (me) for cholesterol. HBa1c is 0.1 above what the guidelines want. I seem to be damned either way... increase insulin to reduce HBa1c then put weight on. You know what I think I will be golden girl. It’ll just be my weight

Me too. I think that is a good thing to be.

Internet consensus says it is Winston Churchill.

When criticized for occasionally ending a sentence on a preposition, Winston Churchill replied, "This is the type of errant pedantry up with which I will not put."

One site substituted "b!@@dy nonsense" for "errant pedantry"; another site said the whole story is apocryphal.

IMO it sounds like Churchill, either variation. :)

Morning All. Just about! Not long home, woke up in Kent to. 7.1 after a large cod from chip shop for supper and 2-3 hours sleep. Looked after my friends 17 yr old Westie yesterday who is very much in decline but it was all good. However last night when we went to bed he coughed (didnt sound exactly like a cough) continuously until 4am, wandered around, wanted to get in the garden 4 times. I think there may be a bit of dementia going on and he is really bad at night compared to day. Though he is in bad shape he is still enjoying his food. Its very sad I’ve known him all his life and he has mum have been on holiday with us many times. My poor friend is recovering from cancer and he is her world.
@gennepher so glad the drains got sorted efficiently and hope all goes well today at the hospital. The technology sounds amazing.
@DJC3 I am trying to get used to having cream in my coffee in prep for June!!! Its not that bad and must agree it does seem filling! I have to stir it in though.
Have a good first of May everyone. Stay well, stay safe.
That made me feel sad for your friend. Hope the dog doesnt deteriorate more.

Morning all. 9.1 this morning! Though I've worked myself up and become all anxious about my personal training session at the gym. Had a slice of toast and a cuppa tea. Still no insulin as the Diabetic team want to see what my body can (or can't) do on it's own.

An hour till the gym session - think I'll take a little walk around the block to calm down a bit!

Morning...up but would ideally like to go back to bed...not allowed...hardly a scrap of food in the house...no shopping done yesterday after dashing out to work...not sure I can muster up the energy or the enthusiasm in the rain but I have to...maybe after another coffee...woke to a 6.1 so slightly lower than the last few days.

@dogslife I had completely forgotten about Scot's Emulsion. My mother used to give me some of I had a cold or she thought I was run down. I actually liked it really cold from the fridge. I dislike fish now though unless it comes as fingers or in batter from the chippy - neither of which are contained in my current way of eating.
4.9 for me this morning.

@gennepher glad your drains got fixed yesterday and good luck today. That sounds like an amazing procedure and I really can’t imagine what it must be like for you. How on earth can you even begin to make sense of the sounds you’re hearing if you’ve never heard anything before? It’s mind boggling. Keeping everything crossed that your brain will be able to work it all out.

Thank you so much.

My brain does go awol with all this from time to time.

This learning to hear sounds will go on for the rest of my life. A baby has it so much easier. Brain (me) panics with a lot of sounds (more complicated than that, that's the simple version).

Thank you
