What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.2 this morning and day 7 without metformin. Not sure if its starting to come back down or just because I took it at 6:00 which is earlier than the the last couple of days. Will carry on for another week or so before deciding properly.
@SaskiaKC the asterisks for Mr Tracey’s forename did make me laugh too.
The odd thing about Metformin is how long it takes to get into & out of our systems...it can take a couple of weeks before you notice whether there is any change DJC...I still take one 500mgs tablet...I'm not sure I need it any longer however with any addition or reduction to my diet or medication either affects my INR levels...I'm waiting until I can extend my anti coagulant appointments to six weekly attendances...then hopefully the last tablet goes

Woke earlier today and found a 5.5. Stumbled on a new word/concept to me https://www.203challenges.com/the-swedish-concept-of-gokotta-listen-to-the-morning-birdsong/ which fits with our chickens wanting freedom from their fox proof home much earlier this time of year. @Debandez LC has given me non diabetic numbers for nearly 4 years and did so within first week, reversed diabetic retinopathy, so I know it has made a difference. I think my woe, macros and testing of ketones make my diet keto but thanks. Enough on that from me I just tried to be polite and reply.

Good Morning all :)

4.8 for me today

was a lovely mild day yesterday and I actually became 'unlagged' enough to be in shirt sleeves chopping up bush trimmings in the garden and having my walk after dinner

today is looking good so far, got to finish some trouser hems today (shortened, and temporarily hemmed yesterday so they could be tried on again to check the length ), I'll make a start now and if it stays dry perhaps a trip to the dump is in order to finish that bit of the garden job, maybe even lunch out.

I also need to moan at Home Bargains about the tube of travel wash that leaked all over my shopping :sorry: it was fine whilst it was cap side down on the shelf but the hole in the tube meant it leaked everywhere once it was in my bag on the way home, nothing ruined but I didn't anticipate 'travel wash' meant washing everything that had travelled with it :hilarious:

Hope your day treats you kindly :)

I was attempting to write on here the other day about the the birds in my garden. There are some small birds where the name begins blue but when I posted it the bit after blue was asterisked out, so I went in to edit the post, then I realised it was censorship. Well, I had better not talk about the pea something butterfly fluttering in my garden....

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.
I stole internet access from somebody who carelessly left it laying around so this post has to be brief.

My meter is playing games with me, this morning it threw a 4.3 at me. I'm now questioning the marital state of it's parents at the moment of it's birf.

Yours from the dark and dangerous norf.

Hug for bg being too low for your all round circumstances but a funny in there as well. Typical of your amazing good humour and spirit in dealing with a basket of deplorables life has thrown at you. Go well fella.

Good morning everyone. Back from a trip to The Brecon Beacons with my son. A cabin on a fairly remote farm. No internet, no phone signal (apart from at the top of Pen Y Fan) and some really good weather. @ianpspurs - we were having a go at gokotta without even knowing it.
Surprising how just a couple of days away like that results in the realisation of how much background buzz and boom surrounds us. Thankfully I live in the dark and dangerous north so not as much buzz as some folk have to deal with on a daily basis and boom has not yet arrived in any great licks.
Anyhow, the wheel of wonderment and jollity (like Jollity Farm by the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band) sang out a shrill 5.4 this morning. I first thought that it was a judges score for my vaulting technique - but no.
Anyhow, campers, have a great day it you can, I wonder if there is a Swedish concept word for listening to early morning tea slurping?

Agree it’s effects are very gradual. My gp said I could come off it about 6 months ago but I stuck to 1x 500mg tab, purely for the possible cancer preventative effects. I probably would have carried on if I hadn’t left them in Cornwall and it taken a few days to get another prescription sorted but it is nice not to be taking anything now.
Also haven’t had tum probs this week which is a welcome change - hadn’t really associated that with metformin as I’d had IBS previously. That did improve markedly when I went low carb but recently I’ve started to notice symptoms again. Didn’t occur to me it might be metformin after all this time.
Good luck with extending your coag appts - your recent results have been good so hopefully won’t be long.

Morning All. 6.6 for me today but for some reason I succombed to more Lindt 90 than was advisable last night. It just happened.
Lots of people reporting a good nights sleep which is good. Maybe perfect conditions with sunny days and chilly nights responsible.
Lots of watering of newly seeded front lawn now...hope yours @HarrisonK is coming up better than mine which is mainly weeds atm.
Have a good day everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

Good morning chums,

I was wash with brownie points yesterday. HBa1c official pat the head for my excellent control.. it is 6.6 and both my DN and my GP enthused.. it has come down from 9.1 18 months ago.

Next brownie points for my cholesterol at 3.6 only a minor head pat as I’ve been below 5 since forever.

Next head pats for my weight I’ve put in 0.4 lb since my last weigh in but Lost over 2 stone in the last 12 months.

But on a sad note, my GP has got a shiny new set of scales that are accurate.

No changes in my meds yet.
But overall good girl points

Oh and 6.9 this morning..

happy Tuesday everyone.. kim xx

You reminded me of when I used to go to pop concerts with my friends, even though I couldn’t hear it with being deaf. I could hug the speaker in those days (they were on the dance floor). Bonzo Dog Doo Dah band were on in 1968. And I still remember them visually even now.

So I went on You Tube. I found a partial clip of Urban Spaceman (1968) exactly as I saw it then. It really brought a smile to my face, and I can see the words he sings now!

Didn’t think much of the next act that day in 1968....two (or was there 3?) skinny lads... Tyrannosaurus Rex...rubbish...no visuals...

Edit!!!!
Forgot to put link on!!!!

I am playing this on repeat....

The singer is good looking isn't he ?

Memories....

Another edit: the You Tube link won't play from the app. BUT it is fine and works clicking from the webpage...flipping technology!

6.0, assuming one rounds decimals up honestly. Sigh. LC food is fairly dangerous if discipline is not in the same playbook.
@SaskiaKC what a memory! We weren't allowed to read superhero comic books, but Richard Tracy was in the Sunday funnies. Ah yes. The wrist communicator, the future forecast for us loud and clear! (My sil's phone won't allow her to, er, what you do when you talk aloud to your phone for a text, ***tate, her husband's name!!! )
@Debandez fabulous results following through on that census pay suit! Congratulations!
@HarrisonK how lovely a sleep. Last time I slept 10 hrs I was in college......
