I confess before I was diagnosed, I knew very little about diabetes and the different types. However, I had no one in my family or amongst my friends with any type of diabetes. I didn't have a father who had cured his type 1 through diet and exercise.

I think she could tell how cheesed off I was.....I hardly ever roll my eyes BUT there was a LOT of eye rolling AND also interrupting when she was speaking. MAYBE its the cure we are looking for

I had a similar chat a few weeks back. A type 2 was informing me that I was lucky on account I could just inject insulin and eat anything.
I smiled safe in the knowledge that diabetes wasn’t her biggest problem.
One of those good days where minimum effort has been needed to keep everything in range.
Going to dine al fresco shortly. Chicken Fajitas. I reckon 10g carbs should cover 3 of them and maybe a good squirt of insulin might do the trick. Easy peasy this type 1 malarkey

I have made a faux pas, I have downloaded the Casual Escort app ( school that is lol ) and I put Wednesday and Thursday down, morning and afternoon, but I didn't start until Thursday and only did Friday morning so I have rang transport coordinator, no reply from the mobile, so I left a message, oh dear oh dear..........oh dear

Welcome to the thread @MeiChanski .

Fortunately, some of my students wanted a quiet, sit-down afternoon and working through my job list rather than the workshops job list which means the paperwork pile has been conquered enough for me not to have to bring some home over the half-term, my (students) job list is shorter than it was, and I believe the workshop job list is also much shorter. I even had a few minutes to admire the work going on on the latest car being pulled apart... We like pulling cars apart, we do. (No, don't even ask about putting them back together again, it's not happening!)

I am proud to announce, I think, that I had to get someone to drink up the older emergency can of full-fat Coke in the work place fridge, as the "Use by Date" is the end of the month. I seem to have got morning walking/breakfast/insulin sussed for now as I've not had an arrive at work on a 3.5 for months now. I am, however, not taking any risks and a new can has replaced it.

You're indeed speaking my language, I did try birthday cake and it was interesting, I didn't know what Americans were thinking.

If we could harness the curative power of ignorance, diabetes would be a thing of the past.
(Or something like that.)

I'd think we'd make a lot of money off people's ignorance when it comes to talking about it. I'll put a £1 in for every time they say they have a "cure" for diabetes which is some herbs.
