I do not order everything on my prescription every time. If I am getting low on insulin, I just order insulin. If I am getting low on test strips, I just order test strips. No one has ever questioned how many times I put in a request for test strips or paid any attention to how many test strips I use per month.

Same with me. Never been questioned on the apparent randomness of the box ticking. I tend to order test cartriges (200.) for the Mobile every two/2.5 weeks.

Their's that medication review every year & it's like yep yer T1, all the stuff on the list you need...

I've never met a pharmacist that understands the principle of testing & the importance there of. They seem to see it as a "throttle pedal" & not a speed gauge? It's odd, because when I read tabloid articals about the Libra, The reporting also seems to suggest the sensor is "all you need" to manage BGs. The average non D I've spoken to thinks it can do it all for me.. ;)

@Robinredbreast - that is beautiful!

By the way all - if you come across a bee on the ground - it is exhausted and in urgent need of a few drops of sugar water. Let it have them and it will revive and fly away. You can get actual kits or just have a tiny bottle with some sugar water in, and a pretty flowery piece of plastic. Edge the plastic under the bee, drop some liquid beside it and it should be fine.

I can't believe Abbott are still having issues with sensor stock

Their problem is it's just too popular! There's a lot of diabetics out there, and the demand is massive, because despite the known problems, it's still a really good product for a lot of people. As they persuade governments or insurance companies to support it too (eg what happened in April for the NHS), that demand will keep rising. They're increasing production, but need to keep quality high, which is always going to be a bit tricky - they're harder to make than most elecronic tat :-)

(does anybody have any stats on how many libre sensors they make?)

Perhaps they didn't realise quite how many would be needed, or that they'd get taken up by the NHS. (Even if not that keen on dishing them out)

Morning all, Yet another super sunny morning here in Oxford, a shame in a way as I'm off to my home town of Chester to celebrate my eldest brother's 80th birthday.
Madam is suitably chaste after the tantrum earlier 5.0 at proper getting up time

Ooo - I did my teacher training in Chester, (back in the day when it was Chester College of Higher Education, not a University) stayed on for a few years after, had my organ lessons on the Cathedral organ, and still have strong connections with the place as though my god-children no longer live there their elder sibling does. Planning on some time there this summer.

Happy birthday to Eldest Brother!

Good luck with that, also my daughter hates the word 'mooch' so I cannot use the that word when I want to say' I had a good mooch around charity shops today' I have to say 'had a good look', I much prefer a good ole mooch :D

Mooch is the right word, I think. Out of curiosity, does she dislike the word moist as well? (It's apparently one of the most hated words going.)

Indeed the demand is high, its like trying to buy limited edition items. But I was hoping they would have sorted it out by now. I do remember the time where you can buy them off their website. It’s quite strange that they’ve announced libre 2 but haven’t sorted out the demand for libre sensors.

I’ve been trying to bribe my bf to get out of bed. So far I’ve offered to buy him a birthday cake (I couldn’t get one yesterday), make a tasty dinner and iced coffee. Nothing has worked.
I guess it’ll be diabetes and myself tonight and diabetes is eyeing the vegan chocolate brownie ice cream in the freezer.

Not sure it's that strange. They will be probably trying to ramp up production of libre 2 too. I expect the poor production engineers responsible for this will be having an interesting mix of happiness that they're selling as much as they can make, and stress as they try to keep up with demand :-)

Night all. Off to sleep on a steady 5.8 after being persuaded to dig my Xbox out of the attic for a few hours gaming by a friend (it went up there a few months ago when some work in the house saw it evicted temporarily to its box).

Morning all - rainy, not very warm day here but I got up at 5.8 so I'm happy enough!

My long day at the office today and my mate has legged it to France for a week's holiday. Boss is in a foul mood, and I am keeping head down for the week. Try and be inconspicuous.....ha!

Don’t wear the AF tee shirt.

What about "Tofu Never Screams!" - would that do? Or there's "Not your Mama, not your milk" (with piccie of cow). The latest - pic of cow silhouetted into a large bar code - logo - "Animals are not Products".

The only one I would never even think about wearing to work is the ALF one....

The Not your Mama is my favourite but somehow .......
