Type 1'stars R Us

This is true! I wish a had a T shirt with a HUGE pic of the Trump baby blimp - I'd wear it and dare anyone to protest.

Didja see that the US Ambassador says he expects the NHS to be "on the table" at the next round of trade talks, and also expects us to accept their horrific versions of food? Chlorine for supper, chaps?

As far as you possibly can, eat organic home-grown fruit and veg. If only foreign produce is available, try and stick to countries where you know organic means organic .....

Can I just go "Aaaaaargh"! This being my long day I bring my lunch with me. I have either a boxful of chopped veg & salad or a tin of soup.

Today's tin of soup turns out to be Veggie but not Vegan. Poor husband was misled by labelling - saw the V and thought all was well. Close inspection of the ingredient list reveals milk fats and something extracted from actual butter. I guess I'll put it in the kitchen with a post-it "Free to Good Home"....... Sadly, that leaves me with an Asda no-cal jelly pot. And lots of tea! (No shops selling my sort of food this end of town and I don't get a long enough break to go the Tesco up-town and back, and still eat. It's full season and the pedestrian way is jam-packed. Takes ages to get through)

@Knikki I can see my GP surgery making some irrational decision about my testbstrips and lancets now we have Libre so will keep a close eye n my prescription.
The last time they took something off was my pen cartridges because I hadn’t ordered them for a year because I have a pump. So I had to explain about having a pump back up and the shelf life of insulin.

I have been prescribed the Libre for over a year now and my prescription for test strips has not changed. When I was moved over to the pump, they went up!!

Good morning all
Set change (again) last night, moved to the top of my leg. Absorption is utter rubbish there!!!! Woke to an 11.2 this morning and now flying high on a 14.4 BUT I have got a horizontal arrow :banghead::banghead:. Just changed to a temp basal of 150% see if it comes down in the next hour, if not it will be another change very shortly grrrrrr

Their problem is it's just too popular! There's a lot of diabetics out there, and the demand is massive, because despite the known problems, it's still a really good product for a lot of people. As they persuade governments or insurance companies to support it too (eg what happened in April for the NHS), that demand will keep rising. They're increasing production, but need to keep quality high, which is always going to be a bit tricky - they're harder to make than most elecronic tat :)

(does anybody have any stats on how many libre sensors they make?)

My son worked for Abbotts a few years ago. From what he remembers they used to make 30,000 sensors per clean room per day.....they had 4 clean rooms! They also opened a line in Ireland with 2 clean rooms as well!!!! So quite a few sensors per day

Mornin’ all, woke at 5.1 but very disgruntled after a fajita-fuelled climb to 17 at 3am - a split bolus at 2.30 am will be on the cards if I have this brand again so that’s just not going to happen! Pleased the correction was right though, there always has to be a silver lining.
Wish I were protesting too, and without Hamish in tow I certainly would be. Keep your nasty orange paws off our NHS Mr Flatulence! Mr F is a big fat loser: No Deal.
Cat agrees, and he says the white dresses are his favourites, perfect for paw printing.
Libre’s: my requests for test cartridges (Accuchek mobile) haven’t changed now Libre’s prescribed @Knikki, so hope you’ll persuade your GP they should be the same. Each sensor seems to be slightly different in accuracy, most are consistent, but blood tests are still required to verify before significant injecting. Sometimes there’s a magic sensor that’s perfect, always mourn its passing after too brief a time on my arm.

Morning (just!) been a busy one with paperwork and phone calls. @Knikki, when I started to get Libre on prescription nothing changed with my test strips, I still order as and when and no-one has queried it. My surgery is very hot on looking at whether people have drugs they don't need/are too expensive/can't see a good reason for, so I'm sure they'd've been in touch if they felt I didn't need strips - or needed fewer - now. To be fair, I do test less than i used to , but I'm not sure to what extent. On days of hideous hypos I get through quite a few

Morning, although it’s not morning but morning everyone :) I woke up on 7.1, not too shabby. Also I’ve been blocked on Instagram because according to them I’ve been “spamming” likes but what else are you suppose to do? Scroll past?

Hurray!! Wu will not starve today! I found an emergency pot of Itsu crystal noodles with vegetable paste (dort of pot noodle but crystal noodles and a gorgeous soup paste). I can't say it's my favourite by a long shot but it's food, and I can eat it. Joy is mine!
Morning all
I wish I could be in London giving Trump the kind of welcome he deserves.
Alas I have to prepare for Patch's first trip abroad, It is just a short work trip and we will be back tomorrow.
Last night's climbing was a chilled affair as my usual climbing buddies were feeling a bit run down. So it was definitely less climbing and more chatting. But there is absolutely no harm in that. And after a lunchtime spin, I did not feel as if I was missing out on exercise for the day.
Waking on a 4.4 kept me happy. I went to sleep on 4.9 and without a night time etch-a-sketch to tell me otherwise, I am going to assume it was a flat line.
Now my Libre is starting up so I should be etch-a-sketched permanently from now on. That will be weird but should be good. Miaomiao is in my sights but I want to get used to Patch and .... ooo, should I name Libre? I can't name each sensor so they will have to have a generic name. Something else to consider.

On the Trump thing, is the Royal Banquet dress code always white gowns for the women? I ask because the photos of Queenie, Melana and Camilla look like some weird mass wedding for a religious cult.
Or maybe it's just the way my mind works.
Wouldn't some of us like to do this to the above 'person' -
lol :D trumpity trump :hilarious:

Well today was the worse morning travelling and feeling awful with motion sickness. I used to suffer so badly from this as a child and into adulthood. I am okay sitting up front in a taxi or minibus, but whilst I am sitting in the back with the children and they are talking to me, playing a game ( lowering my head which is worse !) so any interacting,
I went to my local pharmacy and bought Sea Bands, as I didn't want to dose up on tablets, especially those that make people drowsy. So two bands on the wrist pressure points, so I will let you know after 4.30pm how it went, finger's crossed it works X

I'm energetic enough; sadly I'm just not energetic about work right now. And I should be - my To-Do heap is quite scary!

Wrist bands never work for me @Robinredbreast, I rely on sturgeon which doesn’t make me drowsy, just relaxed. To be fair, I only feel travel sick if there are lots of swooping corners, if I’m sitting in a side facing seat in a van, or in a boat on a choppy sea or when it’s yawing. Hate the feeling of travel sickness, commiserations.

Thanks FG, the problem is I don't want to take tablets 5 days a week, whilst children are in my care, so I am hoping the wrist bands with work and help with the nausea, that makes me feel so awful. So a band on each wrist and off I go at 2.30pm.
