You never know, the joys of the internet :)
(it's grey and brown bins today)
We are having a nightmare bin week. Hubby thought it was blue bin week due to it being full to capacity and some more bottles in an additional box. So put out together with paper and cardboard bag, also full. Another neighbour followed our lead. These were the only 2 bins/bags not emptied!!! It was grey bin day! Hubby had forgotten son had invited most of Blackpool back for a party earlier in the week. Tip trip on the cards today.

For anyone interested my bin day is Monday and they come very early. I like it on a Monday and would be upset if they changed it. Either red or black bin. Going to the tip is not as simple as it used to be, always a long queue, they lock the gates for periods when they are busy and they check your boot because there is now a long list of banned items.

Our grey bin is weekly, with the brown and green alternating. The bin men seem to enjoy leaving bins unemptied or leaving emptied bins down the hill

Oh dear. Despite having a complicated table issued by the council, I always wait until Reliable Robin and Ruth, number 1 reliable neighbours across the street put theirs out and even then glance up the street.

To stay on topic - my bs, being wonderful first thing, have now decided to wander into the 6 zone.

Is it on a Monday because your bins are red and black? Ours are Royal Blue, British racing green with a matching lid and Mallard green with a peanut brown lid; it’s well posh in the dark and dangerous north.

I am in the bin day thread aren't I? Well into the morning now and only 3 pints of tea drunk - very slack effort sir. @karen8967 hope that low was not too uncomfortable and has been rectified. @Cumberland great to see levels you feel happier and with which you are better able to function properly. @Bildad hearty congrats on entering the 4s. Lots more menshes left out for the sake of brevity (hah) but best wishes and solidarity all round.
So earlier we found the (hopefully) lesser spotted 5.8 hiding inside my meter. Yesterday I executed my drills, landed the ball in the right areas, stayed strong as a unit like Mr Bayliss insists upon. Turns out my mind sees a carbs level of >20 as easy to chase then my body proceeds to find ways of making that total too high. What would Beefy and Freddie do? Anyone think I am watching way too much ICC World Cup?

Not wishing to be left behind on this crucial issue...our bin day is Friday...we have green & black ones...I never have any idea which colour bin is due out so I check the neighbours...it never fails me.

good morning all :)

was 5.0 yesterday when I forgot to post :sorry: and 4.6 today

off out earlyish yesterday because we planned to strip and repaper the feature wall in mum's sitting room before she gets her visitor for the weekend. The existing paper got a bit grubby over the chimney breast with mum opening the woodburner door. Anyway it's done and just needs the final edge trim around the tiles when it's completely dry :)

mr gee has a horrible cold and is sneezing and coughing all the time at the moment so the planned trip out for lunch today is cancelled because it's chucking it down here. I shall make a nice big pan of chicken and veggie soup instead and then sort out my shirt drawer. when working office based I got into the habit of wearing men's shirts for work (Better fabric and pockets than ladies blouses ;)) and it definitely needs a sort out.

Hope your day treats you kindly :)

On a side note , today is blue bin day by the look of the neighbours ;)

@ianpspurs your bin day thread cracked me up!!! Still giggling.....

5.8 for me today. Not bad after my later than usual dinner and far too much birthday liquid! What a palava in the restaurant over halloumi fries. As usual I asked for no flour this never causes any issues normally. New waiter. They also have a new chef. Both wanting to please (we are regulars) placed order, waiter looked confused as the no flour option not on his iPad. Went to speak to chef. Kitchen on top floor. 5 minutes later chef standing next to my table. No flour not possible he said apologetically. Gluten free flour ok? This threw me. I said yes that would be lovely but as soon as he turned his back I wanted to Google. I had been banned from my phone by hubby as date night but this was a great excuse to feel it in the palm of my hand and I got a little excited I must say, what a rebel but a justified cause I felt. I inadvertent opened my Facebook page. Not sure how that happened (winky face here). Then into Google. Carbs in glutton free flour and ordinary flour exactly the same. At least I will know for next time. I only have about 6 fries so I'm not going to fret about the tiny bit of flour used. Dont want that palava again. Don't know why I ever bothered fretting in the first place!!! Anyway a very nice meal was had. Then a show 'les musicals' currently touring. Highly recommended if you like songs from the shows.

Well I cant beat that..indeed very posh..but can I just clarify my red bin is actually Burgundy..just didnt want to show off. Both bins have the name of our house painted on in white accrylic by my own fair hand. I quite enjoy a neighbour’s bin regularly getting into trouble and causing murmurs. I have nothing more I can offer on the subject so over and out.

When you live in a ‘developing’ country, every day is a bin day except when the bin men decide they don’t want it to be a bin day... and well everyone has their own bin whatever shape, color, material they want! At least there is some freedom of choice... express yourself through your choice of bin...

Where I used to live you just bought your own so we bought steel ones that fit in the frames the previous homeowners had installed. They also had handles on the sides which were handy for hooking the bungee cables we used to secure the lids against the raccoons and possums -- which we then fed with cat food put out for the neighborhood moocher-cat.
