What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

It’s bin day today; the turn of the recycling bin and the garden bin. Not a lot in them this week, two bags and a few papers for recycling and nothing in the garden bin. They could wait until their next two week cycle but I need to maximise the usage of my contributions to local taxes so out the recycling bin goes.

A better night last night and the wonder wheel of rest and recuperation issued a sprightly 5.0 at 0615.

I finished my holiday book yesterday. Only three days late but hey, medals and champagne all round. My new book was waiting patiently on the bureau, same author and this one is called Skin In The Game. I suppose that the point of the book is that in the real world it is hard to disentangle ethos on one hand from knowledge and competence on the other: “in academia there is no difference between academia and the real world; in the real world, there is”.

Meeting of the medical practice patients group this afternoon - what fun.

Have a wonderful day if you can.

For years of my life academia was the real world! :)

A cursory glance through this and other threads suggests members' lived experiences won't allow for a cosy definition of the real world. Yours, mine and anyone else's are just as valid. You go gal cos who you are is enough.

Managed to sneak a few minutes on my phone while Mr C is glued to the cricket in a cosy Tobermory pub.
Very glad to see @Cumberland has a nice comfortable fbg today.
Mine was 5.7 today and yesterday 5.1 so holiday grub seems fine, and lack of metformin doesn’t seem to be having a deleterious effect now.
I’m thrilled to be entering a bin discussion my husband drives a bin lorry so I never think about it - I leave it to him. SIL and his dad also work on the bins - they are all obsessed by it, it’s very funny, within 5 mins of them being in the same room their conversation will have turned to bins and the merits or otherwise of the local rounds. My daughter made a fabulous calendar for Mr C’s Christmas present. She took photos of many different bins throughout the year and made a montage. The title page was ‘Bins of Cornwall’ it was far and away his favourite present!

good morning all :)

...and then sort out my shirt drawer. when working office based I got into the habit of wearing men's shirts for work (Better fabric and pockets than ladies blouses ;)) and it definitely needs a sort out.

I love men’s shirts and jumpers because as you say much better quality and fabric. And so easy to find in 100% cottons. So hard to find ladies clothes in cottons without the price hitting the roof. Also men’s cottons never need ironing...

Morening, I like your monika either it's where you live or a liking for those full of bread sausages or perhaps both.
Your blood sugars vary so much wonder how high they must be for you not to post them. Take care.

Alf they were teens with a few hovering 10.0 to 12.9 ad sadly a few 20.0+

I never felt poorly just had a bit of a thirst

Men's sweatpants are better too ... better price and better quality. I have to buy the ones with elastic ankles because they're all too long but at least the elasticized cuffs keep them from hanging down over my shoes and tripping me up! And the deep pockets are much more useful than the silly little pockets on women's sweats.

I agree!
The pockets on women’s sweatpants don’t even hold a tissue, whereas the pockets on men’s sweatpants can hold the contents of a small handbag....and you have at least 4 pockets....
