What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

No PM it was worse than that...I can't say anymore it may be struck out by the mods (and I wouldn't blame them)...

hahaha..just his way of saying hello while up on on his back legs.

A doggy handshake almost...
"Hello, nice to meet you, I'm Plumpy...OMG
....Your GORGEOUS...." :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Lol

But really there is more to it. Men enter store knowing waist and inseam measurement, find pants that match those numbers, pay, walk out. Women enter store knowing pants size of one brand. Store may have discontinued brand. Different brand may have different dimensions for same size so must be tried on. Blue of different brand may not match blue of previous brand or even blue of same brand different season. Even basic black can vary across brands and seasons. Life is hard! :D

Have to agree, saskia..

The colour thing does make me think there Must be two lines when god is giving out eyes.

Short queue..

mens eyes.
"blue..next"

LONG queue snaking around the pearly gates.

womens eyes.
"Blue ..next.......
"NO.. these are the WRONG Blue..i want more of a marine blue with a splash of turquoise...fetch Gabriel he KNOWS what colour i mean..."
ad infinitum..:bag:

Poor Gabes ...

Actually I was amazed when the Liverpool-fan ex knew and used the word "fuchsia ... "

Ladies Have to agree, from what my missus tells..

AND they save time too...;)

Only come in 6 base colours (as do most mens clothes) so shopping is really just a case of
(estimated time max 20 mins allowing for parking car & queueing to pay)
* Pop in.
* Select correct size.
* Pay for them
* leave shop
* enjoy a more productive day.

Wifes version,
(estimated time based on previous experiences 5 hours min)
* look through a zillions colours of each item,
* minutely inspect EACH for the tiniest of of variations in style,
( NB Most Invisible (it seems ) to the male eye without female guidance.)
* Inspect EVERY item in store, just in case
...
* Go outside calm, down husband, tell him you've found what you want, just want HIS opinion,
(oh the lies you all tell :rolleyes: :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:)
* spend another 30 minutes looking at ALL shop stock again, just in case
* then select first item seen...
* Queue and pay
* leave store..
* return home,
* check items, prepare list of what to return..:wideyed:.:***:

( apparently THEM is the rulez of shopping, so can not be skipped,
a fact, the average male i bet is totally unaware of.)

But do agree in the clothing in general, my stuff does seem cheaper & better material
never shrinks in tumble dryer either :D..

I think that Michael Portillo has clothes in way more than 6 colours - none of which are ever base.

Morning all. Maybe some bittersweet feelings for some members on this poignant day 75 years on. Purely by an accident of history I can type away in comfort rather than have my life threatened or lost. Puts fbs in perspective for me.
Now, @DJC3 nice numbers and holiday sounds good - I really hope you don't live near Looe back home. @HarrisonK excellent start to the day. @Bildad best wishes for the A1c today. You should have no problems based on the excellent numbers and sterling efforts we have all seen. My fbg was a so so 5.2 today. Enough with the bins already.

Agree it’s a day to acknowledge how truly fortunate we are.

The magnolias are in bloom now

and the mimosa across the street looks like this one

Some say the mimosa is an invasive species but I would take a phrase from Eugenia Price and call it a "beloved invader." One of my favorite trees.

@Bubbsie I’m laughing at the thought of Harry’s overfamiliarity with your colleagues, I hope they weren’t too dismayed.
@PenguinMum glad to see your fbg coming down. I’m sure bp would probably affect it - most things seem to!
@Bildad great work bringing your numbers down but yes I bet DN says it’s the meds!
@Goacher glad you’re feeling a lot better, colds make me miserable. And fbg is obviously happy with the situation too. That tiniest of weight gains is pretty good going considering the circumstances I reckon.

I sent them an email saying I'd banned him from the office...it was the pre-emptive defence strike DJC...they all said 'on no don't do that bring him in' so we're not completely ostracised yet...well it is in Camden so I presume anything goes there.

Morning...a beautiful sunny start to our day here...all paperwork done & delivered to our office in London yesterday...I took 'Plumpy' with me...unfortunately he disgraced himself by being far 'too friendly' with several of my colleagues when their backs were turned...woke to a 6.5
Sounds like acceptable bulldog behaviour to me! nothing like a bit of Bully love!!;):):angelic:

6.0 this morning. Not terribly happy but not too upset either. Yesterday’s 6.5 did upset me and hence last night’s dinner was a salad with eggs to keep them carbs at bay. Helped a bit.

As Mrs. S and Junior are away in India for a holiday it’s going to be a slow day. Maybe some shopping for groceries that are friendly to non-regular-cooks! And it is a bright sunny day... hopefully it stays that way ...

Good day everyone

Ya think? 32" waist varies greatly and in 1 shop brown were smaller than black same range, same day but shorter and tighter.

I hate shopping!!!
Always have.
I make my clothes.
Always have.
But now buy clothes from charity shops (better quality and good quality materials especially in a posh area, and often brand new...), then I cut up and redesign...
