Thank you for all the feed back it will really help. I am in the dark at the moment I am not even seeing a diabetic nurse until the 25th so just trying to work it out the beat I can
Good on you. Nurses and specialists and GP's are fine, but in the end, it's you that'll have to do the brunt of the work here. They can't waive a wand and make it go away> They can assist you on your journey, but can't conjure a cure. You'll have to make changes yourself and tackle this head-on, which is what you're doing right now. It's a confusing and scary time. But people here can tell you, it does get easier. And you will feel loads better for it. Me, I feel like I got my life back once I got my bloodsugars under control... It is worth it. Only way is up.Thank you for all the feed back it will really help. I am in the dark at the moment I am not even seeing a diabetic nurse until the 25th so just trying to work it out the beat I can
Cheers for the feed back jo. I am learning slowly being on here helps, I only mentioned about seeing the nurse as she will be the first diabetic specialist I will have seen since I was told I had it. A nurse told me I have it when I went for a well man check at my doctors. I am not even seeing a doctor until the same day as the diabetic nurse. So being on here is helping so much as I didn't have a clue where to start I am learning more stuff each day. With the help of people like you I know I'll get there in the end.Good on you. You will. I was diagnosed while absolutely everyone was on summer vacation. Took ages to see anyone about anything, the locum perscribed me some metformin through e-mail and that was it. Responded badly to the stuff to boot, and had no-one to discuss that with. That's when I read about half the internet and stacks of books about T2. Somehow I missed this place, it would've shaved quite a bit of time off of my quest to get well. (And I could've avoided quite a few mistakes too!). But hey, you're here, and a lot quicker than I got here. And you know, all I wanted to hear back then was that I wasn't powerless/doomed in all this. Turns out it's the easiest issue for me to tackle. (There's others, like rheumatism, chronic migraines and hypothyroidism which are a little more complicated.). Who'd have thought T2 would turn out to be the "easy" one? It'll be okay. It's a lot to take in, but you'll get there.Cheers for the feed back jo.
