Can anybody please advice, Why my blood glucose level increase after exercise, like today one hour after eating a low carb diet (chicken with lentils with 2 slices of low carb bread (Sainsbury) my level went up to 8.2 mmol, I went for a brisk walk for 25 min, my blood sugar came down to 6.8 mmol 5 minutes after I finished walking. But when i checked again half an hour after that it increased to 7.9.
I did not eat anything in between.
Many Thanks

It would have been wise to test before your meal as your post meal readings are pretty meaningless if you don’t know where you started from.
Also, what carb level per day do you aim for? Lentils and two slices of bread, albeit low carb bread, strikes me as rather high for one meal?

The theory seems to be because of the type of exercise you do, some forms of exercise can increase blood sugars then normally lowers it later and some more immediately decreases it. Blood glucose levels react differently to anerobic vs aerobic exercise. Also to what you eat, if the fuel is later or earlier supplying.

So for me a walk which takes more time, for me will drop my blood sugar, but a short stint on my exercise bike of 20 minutes will not, yet if I go over the 20 minutes on my bike it will lower my BG's starting at that point. (as long as I have some insulin) Snorkeling of any amount of time will drastically lower my BG's no matter what!

Many thanks, Marie for your valuable response.
Another thing that my overnight BS level increased, at midnight I tested it was 5.5, but in the morning it went up 6.2

sorry i meant before meal

That could be DP Dawn Phenomenon, it's a hormone release before you awaken and it makes your BG's go up even though you haven't eaten anything. It will also make you more insulin resistant for a few hours following it. You might read up on it!
