Afternoon chaps, ended up being sent to A&E because DIABETES. Had a X-ray and examination and nothing is broken, and there’s no sign of blood or fluid in the joint. So it’s a bad sprain/strain and I need to munch all the painkillers, rest it and raise it when possible. It’s in a neoprene brace too, and they’ve given me crutches so I can get around easier than with using a stick. I was in and out in an hour and a half! Had a lovely adrenaline/pain spike in my sugars too... back in range now, possibly rage bolused a smidge to get back into single figures but have let Elvis take charge of dealing with it now.
I’m taking today and tomorrow off work so I can go in for the last day of term at job share school. Currently sat with feet up, coffee, cats, sewing and watching 24 Hours in A&E. Thank you all for your concern and good wishes
In other news, my Leatherman Raptor was waiting for me when I got home - my crowdfund for my stethoscope smashed its target and I had enough left to buy it - it’s a 6 in 1 paramedic multitool with trauma shears, glass hammer, ring cutter, strap/seatbelt cutter, ruler and oxygen tank wrench. Stethoscope arrives tomorrow! It’s really happening and I’m so excited. DVLA sent my new photo card last week, and another arrived just now saying that I don’t just have provisional bus/lorry entitlement, I have a full licence for those because I passed my car test before 1997. So I’m all set for my blue light driving training. Is it terrible that it’s the bit I’m looking forward to the most?
