What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@Debandez thank you SO MUCH for the cruise blog especially considering the wifi issues. It was fascinating and warm (not just the sun) and funny. I keep saying it but you have a real talent at writing to draw you in. I am so glad you and Eric are enjoying every minute. (Just daydreaming wouldn't it be fab to charter a LC only cruise ship around the Med for all of us on this thread!!). Keep having a wonderful time.

Fbg 9.7

Still not going down...

Was in the 9’s all day yesterday.

Got a nurse foot appointment this afternoon.

Supposed to be raining so much that I will need Noah’s Ark to get there.

I will ask him/her upstairs if they could hold on the rain for my appointment....

Have a good day. You might need your rubber ducky swimming ring today...

I’m going to diabetic clinic 3rd September

Still going hypo (twice this morning) and feet are hurting

A bit fed up but hey ho it could be worse

Goodnight everyone

Oh dear Cumbs you’ve had such a run of them recently it must be horrible and completely exhausting. I do hope something can be done to help on 3rd.
I’m always amazed at your stoicism and good humour in spite of everything, hang in there. Hope today gets better.

Clean t-shirt, shorts and fleece for the weather change today. @Cumberland hug for the strife but huge respect for the spirit and grace you show. @gennepher hope the foot appointment goes well and no ark needed. My bg could well have been 5.6 today. I would be lying if I implied any satisfaction with that but it is what it is and I can't tell how much it is influenced by thoughts or reason for Friday's op, food choices, hot weather or anything else. As @PenguinMum says, stay well, stay safe. I'm off to for a pre-op assessment.

5.5 this morning. No plans today, I’m packing Mr C off to the barbers to get his beard shaved off. He’s bearing an unfortunate resemblance to Mr Twit.
I forgot to mention yesterday an act of random kindness from a stranger which completely made my day... I ordered a coffee in a cafe but when I went to tap my card to pay by contactless, I was told that I’d have to pay cash if it was less than £5:00..I had no cash on me so I had to leave the coffee but the bloke behind me in the queue paid for it!!! It actually bought a tear to my eye and was the best coffee I’ve had! What a lovely chap.

Morning All. 6.2 today and I am just glad to be in the 6s atm.
Oh dear @Cumberland I dont know how you cope with the wretched hypos. I really hope the clinic can help. Hugs. @gennepher hang on in there the numbers will go down eventually, thats what I am reciting to myself every day. @DJC3 what a lovely thing to happen, restores your faith in people. @ianpspurs hope today goes to plan and we are all with you every step of the way. @SaskiaKC I love the Good Ship Lollinot emoticons..very clever and funny. Can I be one of the jigging sailors?
Well Wednesday already. Stay well, stay safe.

Random acts of kindness are so beautiful @DJC3
It’s bringing a tear to my eye too!!!

Thank you @ianpspurs for your good wishes.
My good wishes for you for everything in the next few days.
Gentle hugs for you from the bottomless basket of hugs.
Take care.

Those numbers WILL go down @PenguinMum They have had a stern talking to this morning.
And I have had a word with who is in charge of your numbers, and your numbers are getting a stern talking to as well...

Morning all, I have decided to take control of the Meter of doom! So I girded my loins and marched up to it like a man who has his loins firmly girded, and it was sat there raging, quietly planning world domination or maybe just the domination of the pollards Sanitorium for Extraordinary Bulldogs, I very quickly decided against my plan of action and exited the room toot sweet! but not before it threw a 4.9 at me and promptly ransacked the room in a berserk rage at my temerity, nay my misplaced bravery at trying to wrest control of it, its had nearly 24yrs of doing as it pleases and it is a battle I'm prepared for (well nearly) enjoy your day folks. I probably will be.

Rain. It rained last night and a cooler day has been indicated by the storm casters. Happy bin day everyone!

The wonder wheel of a mainly carnivore diet yesterday splurged out a 4.5 at around 0500 and then decided to reverse the numbers two hours later.

Nothing planned for today but as the temperature is now in sensible figures for venturing out without getting crispy, I think a good walk is in order.

Have a great day if you can, a mega hug for @Cumberland and @gennepher - lots more available for anyone else who wants one.

I now feel completely at sea. Just received a text from the diabetic nurse that I have ‘elevated levels of microscopic protein in my urine’. And got to take a further urine sample in a month.

How do I choose what to eat? How can I make sure that I can reduce this before next urine sample. I am doing all the right things anyway. Just researched online. There must be some more right things I can do. Surely?

Good morning all :)

4.5 today

thank you for your good wishes for yesterday, I'll admit I'm glad my day of appointments is behind me ;), my annual review appt. is next week after the blood results are back.
Those eye drops don't get any gentler do they? :sorry:

Off to visit mum today and will take dinner with us probably, rain is forecast but if it stays away we'll cut some grass :)

Wishing that everything goes well with you @ianpspurs

Hope that your day treats you kindly :)

edited to add a big hug for @gennepher ,can they not provide some guidance in the interim?

Is that all you got from the DSN gennepher… another sample in a month? why not call the nurse ask what you can do to improve next months levels...even better why not make an appointment to go in & discuss the results

Morning...wide awake at 05:30am after a latish night (01:30) wandered about then decided must go back to bed...woke up again at 8:30am had coffee & no doubt after a bracing shower I'll spring into action... must rearrange my appointment at the anti-coagulation clinic & get myself back to a routine...yesterday sat here & watched the driving rain welcomed the breeze it brought with it...cooler today thank goodness...not testing this morning the meter is just waiting to punish me...now listening to the possible proroguing of parliament like going back to the middle ages...what next Boris & his cohorts on the ramparts with their sabres drawn.

Yes @Bubbsie
That was all I got Just a text saying that.
I can’t telephone the nurse as I cannot hear on the phone. It is also a no reply text service.
You are right. I will go in this afternoon, and ask to speak to her...failing that, ask for an appointment.
Thank you
You have a good day
