What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

am so sorry to hear about the poor kittens and their mother. Not surprised that you are feeling very very sad - especially when you were looking forward to giving then a lovely and loving home.
It was sad Krystyna but the adoption process continues...Wood Green took the kittens from another rescue centre and moved them to foster care ASAP...the kittens & mum already had the virus but there were no obvious signs...the virus is covered by the usual injections but isn't fully protective until the 2nd set of injections which they were too young to have...we are still having two kittens in a week or so we will hear which kittens are available so looking forward to that...although tinged with a hint of sadness we are looking forward to it.

A very boring 6.3 again this morning. No excuse for it, that is what the miserable little critter is.

Today, I am mostly going to be... a plumber. The tap washers need changing and madam was going to call Mr. Fixit & Bodgitt until I volunteered in a moment of madness following my unwanted new position as 'the window cleaner'. I realise I am now a husband, without benefits ;)

Morning...a really good sleep which began on the sofa... 'Plumpy' spent most of the evening here so lots of lounging there with him... masses of extra cuddles needed for him as the fireworks went off...he went home about 11pm so I shut my eyes for a second then woke up at 4am...off to bed until 07:30...woke to a 6.1

Morning All. 5.5 this morning which is very acceptable. @DJC3 your lovely part of the world has really been bashed in the last 48 hours...enjoy the walk....Dennis will.
@Muddy Cyclist hope Mrs MC can get home soon for some rest very difficult situation for you all. @OldButBold you really made me laugh...I have a vision of you now as Jeeves wearing your apron polishing the silver rather than the usual Parker. Btw I do have a husband and despite numerous entreats the kitchen tap is still dribbling.
Well a calmer more user friendly day here and have No 1 son until afternoon.
Have a great Sunday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

Morning all and a distinctly beige 5.3 for me today. The morning perked up hugely with 45 mins exercise bike and widely varied tuneage from and old iPod shuffle I found in the garage. @Muddy Cyclist hug for the worry over Mrs MC and MIL. @DJC3 told you it would shine when it shines ( ™ Ozark Mountain Daredevils ). Tea and morning worship done so even LC or a Spurs flop later can't undo that experience.
These are indeed but the outskirts of his ways; and how small a whisper do we hear of him! (Job 26)

My current life has been likened to the frog placed in cool water and then very slowly brought to the boil, the poor thing doesn't realise until it's too late. As for PenguinDad, you have obviously been too lenient, cut back on his herrings :)

You have me sitting on the sofa laughing like a drain while the household sleeps on! Good idea about the herrings though.

That's great that you will be getting kittens very soon. They will love their new home. So nice that these kittens have a lovely life ahead of them.

6.9 this morning. I am afraid that I must confess that I went back onto bucket loads of cream while daughter and family were staying with us and too much chocolate - which I continued with last week. Carbs averaging at 30g which I know doesn't work for me.

Work last week was manic and so was the admin. Internet speed around 3 mbps which made it difficult to work on documents on one drive. But end of year accounts are now with my accountant and all admin up date.

So today am back on the 20g carbs and no extra teaspoons of cream. We are off to Oxburgh Hall for a lovely walk then coffee in the dog friendly cafe.

Rained all night - put off any ideas of local kids running around setting off bangers - blooming light weights.

No reading this morning as I have no idea which one it should have been; 0330 for bathroom call, 0445 when I woke for no apparent reason, 0530 perhaps or maybe 0640? Or should it have been 0745 when I eventually gave in to the dark side? Luke, I am not your father, stop pestering me.

Just a day of trivia I think today: On this day in 1534 England's Parliament met and passed an Act of Supremacy which made King Henry VIII head of the English church, a role formerly held by the Pope (one nut job replaced by another) and it’s been all downhill ever since. Mind you, Olivia Newton-John's Grease outfit fetches $405,700 at auction recently so all is well with the world.

Must get on line and buy a copy of the new Children In Need album “Got it Covered” https://www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/shows/got-it-covered/

Have a great day if you can, no mater how hard you think life is, someone would gladly exchange theirs for yours.

good afternoon all :)

4.7 today

it's 'dreich' here today but at least it's not too cold, it is h*llish windy though, white caps and crashing waves on the sea :hilarious:

We managed our outing with mum yesterday, got her knitting wool and had lunch out all without getting wet:)

Mum is cooking dinner today and we've been promised 'a roast' ;) I'm taking 'afters', so mr gee and his mum are getting rice pudding with stewed fruit (spiced apple, pear and plums, finished with a squeeze of lime juice and a knob of butter - sweetened wth truvia so I can have a small spoonful too with my lc sponge and yoghurt ;)).

mr gee and I spent the morning trimming and hanging a new blind in the kitchen, of course that meant everything off the windowsill, shelves and draining board, clean and polish the window etc. etc. :D

Hope your day is treating you well :)

Just back from reading Job 26, to report a lovely low 6.3 this morning.

Final results are in -- FBG has absolutely nothing to do with what I ate the day before, or how much sleep I got overnight. I did get an extra hour last night as the clocks went back at 2 am. I did the living room and microwave clocks myself and was glad to see that the phones and laptop had put their own clocks back. I am looking at two full laundry baskets and wondering if I want to beat the crowd to the laundry room or just sit here and enjoy my coffee with the KittenCat asleep in my lap.

Lunch time and 6.7 before eating probably the shock of having to spend 135 quid on a new Mountain Bike Helmet. A very muddy ride and an embarrassing huge crash, my own fault for speeding down hill and forgetting all the rain would make the sharp bend at the bottom a little slippy, bike and I parted company, I experienced Super Man type of flight for 15 feet abruptly coming to a halt when my head made contact with the floor. Still my head is in one piece even if my wallet is feeling sore.

Mrs MC is back from her moms and would not let me in the house until she had hosed me down, I was living up to my name Muddy Cyclist. :joyful:

135 quid is a small price to pay to protect your bonce. Some folk seem to have a heart attack at the thought of paying out even a tenner for some cheap and nasty plastic with a chin strap on it, made in goodness knows where and filled out with builders caulk. My motorcycle helmet was a bargain at only 450 quid - just a pity that these items are one time use only.
Ride with excitement - but do ride safe.

Sounds as though your initial choice of helmet was very wise so well done and hope any bumps, bruises and scrapes soon heal. Is there a concussion protocol for Mountain bikers? Take care

What a lovely start to your dayand an extra hour. Monday was always laundry day when I was growing up. Now the boys are gone mine has halved and just gets divided into darks and lights twice a week with towels and sheets separate. Is your communal laundry room friendly if so no need to beat the crowds ;)
