I spent last night in hospital due to stomach pains. I got a shock when I was discharged how badly my catheter hole didn't clot to stop the bleeding. I was covered with blood instead of the clean goodbye to some lovely people i met on the ward. One alerted me to all the blood I was squirting out. It was frightening but luckily didn't prevent my discharge. I think it was due to my fast heartbeat so off to gp I go on Monday/Tuesday. On my discharge notes my GP was faxed their findings and all I was told was my CT scan was positive. Not a lot of info... Eh? I still get medical anxiety so to be honest I'm glad Im not told every moral thing as god knows what I'd image. They suspect a special ulser which can be a side effect from Roux-en-y but my gastroscopy will give them more info as to where the fresh blood is coming from that I'm processing. Nasty halitosis and smelly waste is my most embarrassing side affect which I'm disguising with strong copy purfumes and frequent mouth washes. It's not pleasant though. I'm very self conscious about it, in fact.

How are you feeling hun? Rons legs are still very painful , mind you he has got on the floor to play with the dog . Yesterday he did the same . He’s still not sleeping .... told him roiling pin is in the kitchen .

Oh bless him. I bet somedays he wants to use it too. I'm sleeping alot but some is from meds. I'm in pain again with my stomach. So I've had a CT scan and due a gastroscopy to investigate spitting fresh blood and black waste. I was reducing my strong painkillers but pain is scary without enough meds.

Thx @Daphne917. My heart beat was fast again but hospital has no concerns about it. Must be my anxiety... again. They took catheter out of my arm and a few minutes later I was white and leaking blood everywhere. Dr had said I can be discharged as he promised and CT looked good. It must hv been fear. I know bleeding fresh blood from my upper gastric system isn't good but I get more scared they won't find the intermittent problem. I get nausea but mostly no sick. I hope Thursday shows them exactly the bleed cause. I'm far more relaxed about it now as surgeons aren't overly worried. I will monitor my fast heart beat though. How are you and Mr Daphne917?

I know I was not told of any polyps in my first endoscopy before my op. They've taken biopsies for surgeon. It's the stomach pain that cuts through the dihydracodeine and paracetamol that worries me. I did hv nausea and sweating but it's subsided, for now. Now once again I'm on heavy painkiller routine. Paracetamol does help. I had reduce the painkillers for my back pain/leg and neck/arm pain slowly. So sleeping weird again during the day. I've resolved my night sleep distrubances though, now having seperate bedrooms from the little fidgety one. Ha ha
I wonder if Ron is due another one? I appreciate how busy the endoscopy units are but diabetes is renowned for being linked to digestive problems.

He won’t both with anymore . He’s not even bothering with his diabetes either . No meds other than beta blockers , antidepressants and anti seizure pills ( baclofen) . He’s found that a mixture of the latter two are keeping his restless legs at bay . Now he wants something for the pain in them . Probably won’t find anything but keeping fingers crossed and it’s making walking very hard . Until we can get a move to derby the hospital there won’t see him . We keep looking every week to see what’s available there but just keep finding flats . I’m sure derby breed them lol . The bungalow we saw the other day would of been just right inside but it was the access that let it down . We were told it had ramps front and back for his chair, but when we got there it was steps , and just to get to the front steps there was a steep slope .

I hope the right bungalow shows itself to you soon. Keep looking, it will be worth it. It won't pass you by.
 
My prayers to you, ickihun, tina_marie and eldergarth. My prayers that a nice, comfortable and disability-friendly bungalow is made available to you and Ron both, Tina. I had a good result from my diabetes Community clinic last time I was there as blood pressure was only 133/70 and hba1c was only 59 although my weight was 88.1 kg but my blood cholesterol was normal and well controlled. Consultant said my diabetes is the best it's ever been since going on my Trulicity weekly injections. I'm still hoping to have some professional help to quit smoking cigarettes in a specialist nicotine addiction rehab that my GP is looking into for me. I'm meeting the social worker who's doing the reassessment for my supported housing with my care coordinator this Monday at the mental health team at ten o'clock in the morning. Prayers to all my friends in Jesus name.

I appreciate your support @JohnnyBaker87. I'm looking forward to your situation being more to your liking. I know you need a carer more attune to your personal needs. I know those who come into your home are just doing their job. You know we are here.
Your clubs should give you like minded friends. Are you still getting out and going swimming?

Hi @ickihun have not been lurking for a couple of days. We’re not too bad thanks - they are playing with hubby’s heart pills at the moment as they think that one of them is causing his Parkinsonism. Unfortunately it’s the one used to control his heart beat if he goes into AFib so they are using an alternative.

Daphne - I have no axe to grind in this, but you state "....they think that one of them is causing his Parkinsonism...."

Just for clarity, for me and other posters, do you mean your husband's medical team think a particular medication is at the root cause of your husband's Parkinsonism, or whether they believe it to be causing a flare up, or some sort of symptoms?

I do appreciate this is my pendancy at it's best, but Parkinsonism is such a vile condition, it's good to be clear for anyone else who might be impacted or could benefit from another's wisdom. Thanks.

@DCUKMod he first seen his neurologist in Sept 2018 who diagnosed Parkinsonism because, whilst he had some of the traits of Parkinson’s, he wasn’t convinced it was Parkinson’s. In addition he couldn’t do the MRI scan which he would have preferred to do because of my husband’s pace-maker so his diagnosis was based on a CT scan. He has seen his neurologist three times since and when he reviewed his medication in September last year he said that, although rare and he’d only had one patient with it previously, one of his pills (Diltiazem) could be causing his symptoms particularly as they had not changed or got worse. Unfortunately it will be 4 months before we’ll know for sure and his cardiologist has had to suggest alternative medication to prevent his heart going into AFib and an increase in his blood pressure. He sees his neurologist again next month so hopefully we will have more news then - either positive or negative.

Thanks - it does seem a long time particularly as we are juggling pills and watching for side effects etc. However for once our GP practice has come up trumps as he is seeing his GP every 2 weeks (inc Saturdays) and he also rings to check as well.
