What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morning and 6.1 today, really struggling with these morning readings.

@trick60 and @dunelm go careful, it's still gusty out there. No rain though and a grand moon to entertain us all.

VW camper service and new cam belt today, ouch ££££££££. Also check MILs bungalow for wind damage so lots of running around.

Use your skills well today, develop new ones if you can.

5.7 this morning. Our old Labrador Archie has a stomach upset. Have just deleted the next two sentences because they were not appropriate at breakfast time.

So no doggie walk for Archie and husband will ring vet as soon as they open. I will reluctantly be on my way to work then.

Fbg 6.9

I have been awake since 3:30 am....should have gone back to sleep but started thinking about this morning's painting...

So here it is. I was going to put leaves on the silver birches, but went and made a cuppa, and came back, but the fairies didn't help me out this morning, so I left them leafless...
The background is just squished paint (left over in my palette) with the bristle fan brush...with no rhyme or reason.

Popeye and I have just been out for our daily patrol of this property...

The wind has demolished my wheelie bin and wormery and recycle screening.
I have my work cut out there....

Stuff blown around garden, blown over etc, a couple of bushes uprooted.

Haven't checked my roof yet, will do that later or maybe tomorrow when I go out in the car...

Red in the morning shepherd's warning...got a red sky here...

Take care
Hugs if you need them...

Morning...up slightly later than I would like I did stir at 5am then just turned over...yes it really is Monday woken up quite grumpy...anti-coagulant clinic this morning no idea what the traffic will be like after the weather yesterday...then there's the lack of parking spaces given they've raised (doubled) the tariff I would have thought they'd increase rather than reduce them... lost a tile off the roof yesterday will have to get someone to look at it later this week...relieved the wind has died down this morning at one point yesterday afternoon it got quite scary...woke to a 6.8 no idea why been rigid with my carb intake but there you are the eternal mystery of T2.

@gennepher the storm seems to be passing over now here. Powerback and feeling more positive it will stay. Hope you and Popeye are safe amd well and with power! Hope when you get out in the garden tomorrow it wont be too bad. This has been 1 of 3 very bad storms we have had here in the 15 years we have been here.

Good morning @PenguinMum
We lost power in the night. And I lost my internet too.
I have rechargable LED lamps. Always kept charged up. So started painting with them on. Then power came back...and my internet...

Just the usual storm damage here as far as I can tell. Popeye and I have done our morning patrol round the garden, and the wind has destroyed me wheelie, recycle, and wormery shelter...it needs replacing...

I hope all is well for you. Have a good day.

Not time to catch up now.
Storm Ciara blew the scaffold over in the night. Luckily damage was not so bad as in my nightmare later, where both dormers and the living room wall were destroyed. Going out there now.
Surprisingly after a very disturbed night.

Morning all. 5.4 fbg - not ideal but it is what it is. Sprung mattress here - removal men seemed impressed so I'm taking that as a good sign. ZA will be fine for wine and spirits - currently neatly wrapped and boxed floor to ceiling. @OldButBold yesterday's readings after fbg look great. @dunelm - safe journey; @gennepher wonderful artwork again. Thanks for all the good wishes over the move. Storm Clara didn't damage anything here but over the 7 years at our last home storms took out polytunnels, greenhouse glass, fences and caused lots of work. Tea towel sized gardens have some plus points. Have a great day, mine is more tyranny of the boxes, logistics like register at Docs and working out how the oven works for Julie. Salad and tinned mackerel don,t need cooking so I'm fine. Local supermarket is Sainsburys - hmm

Morning All. 6.1 despite an egg mayo cold dinner but did snaffle a ramekin of Bombay Mix ;) Anyway my plan in the event of ZA is coming on well. Plat de jour will be bacon and eggs, otherwise lots of cold LC eats. Separate play areas for dogs and cats. Shed and hay for the horses. Mr PM running the bar. @Muddy Cyclist in charge of the music. Just bring your dancing shoes. @jjraak chief coordinator.
Hope you are all ok after Ciara’s visit and no damage or flooding.
Try and have a good Monday. Stay well, stay safe.

I thnk I misread your post and the dormers and living room stuff was a dream. Have a hug anyway.

Archie decided he was OK for a walk so we decided to take him as he really wanted to go. 200 steps up the road he realised he wasn't OK and he turned to go back home.

Husband carried on with Poppy and he said the other dog walkers we always meet asked about Archie. It turns out that several dogs around had exactly the same symptoms and the vet told them not to bring the dogs in unless the symptoms carried on or got worse.

Archie is sleeping in the sun in the Conservatory so hopefully it will be the same for him.

Some of you may remember my watercolour sea scape commission A1 size. Well being kept in by the storm inspired me to start it. However I managed to finish it, almost A1, well it will be once I get a 2 inch border around it and the frame so a bit of a cheat. So here it is and I ain't doing another so they had better like it.....

@Chris12345 welcome to this crazy mixed up corner of the forum.

@jjraak and @gennepher can I arrive in my VW campervan, cooker, fridge, own electricity (well at least for 3 days) an outside gas hob and a gas Caddac ( BBQ type of thing) and I can always fill my large onboard water tank with Gin. Starts to make the apocalypse sound quite attractive.
I do so love your painting - it is very atmospheric. I am sure they will like it tremendously.

I'm with you and @Muddy Cyclist on that one. That is absolutely what motivates me to keep on with the low carbs.
I'm with you guys on wanting to keep limbs, eyesight, kidneys etc. Very sceptical about low carbs for me though. My results just seem to be the same as any other drastic diet . The effect on my bg is an embarrassment. You on the other hand are at the opposite end of the spectrum. Seems to support N=1 as about all we can really say.

Good morning to you all. fbs was 8.7 today at 8am. I take Gliclizide with breakfast so levels usually come down later but can't seem to get my fbs down whatever I do.:banghead: Bright and sunny here at the moment. Earlier than usual visit to mum's nursing home today as we will be paying respect at a former Deputy headteacher's funeral this afternoon. Wearing bright colours at her request. Best wishes to you for today whatever you are doing and wherever you are going.:)

Only slight damage from storm Ciara a couple of roof tiles...these are the results of storm Charlie & Lola while I was busy rearranging my clinic appointment... yes that was a toilet roll tucked away safely upstairs on a higher shelf than usual...I have no idea how he got it...have let them out in the garden to cool off.
