What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@gennepher I am sad reading about your lost hearing of the bats. In my experience many modern-day "marvels" that benefit us in one way take away from us something else just as important and priceless. It may help more in our public lives but our private lives now lack something we had before.
I like the rising sound of insects in a summer field but I would not like to hear it very loud or very long.

Thank you @SaskiaKC I agree.
If you had no other incoming sound, I am pretty certain you would love listening to the insects in a summer field. It is a heck of a vibration.

5.1, I'm.absolutely delighted with all my latest readings.

Today I had my pt to pt support session at a GP surgery. I love these. Take in my box of goodies. Showing the good, the bad and the ugly carbs. I show labels and point to what to look for. Lots of infographs. Swaps. But mainly I listen. And what I hear constantly from pts is that they feel they eat healthily. Today one pt said he loves fruit. Eats lots and his partner does him smoothies!!!

I encouraged him to test (he tests once in a blue moon currently). Gave him the testing info. And keep record of results. And only then will he see clearly which foods suit him and which don't.

He has been told he may need to go on insulin and really doesnt want that. He seemed to take everything on board (45 minute appointment).

Tonight I'm packing. Off to Scotland to meet up with my auntie who is over from Dublin. Looking forward to quality family time.

Hope all well with everyone. Trying to catch up as usual Haha.

Absolutely agree. If you can get to Waitrose there are Dettol wipes in two sizes on offer atm. I plan to keep some in my car and after a house viewing I will use one as I enter my house on the door knob and proceed to clean all door knobs wash hands thoroughly in kitchn, grab more wipes and do remainder of door knobs upstairs. Once I get into a routine it will be easy.
Thank you for this info. It sounds like you have devised a good routine with the wipes.

atifying for me (the weight thing not the weirded thing :D), since I've been aiming to maintain my weight and bg since I stopped actively trying to lose weight, but then my DN has been trying out weightwatchers and slimming world over the period since my diagnosis to see if she could lose weight. I used to ask but don't any more, but I've mentioned LCHF every appointment :angelic:

On reflection I do think that she is now more accepting of LCHF for bg control than she was when I began but I find it odd that she doesn't seem to make the other connection that my now being less than half my original bodyweight and fairly stable (my weight that is ;) :hilarious: ), after struggling most of my adult life is also down to LCHF.
You have done brilliantly - both with the weight loss and your excellent blood sugars. It is a shame that your DN doesn't understand just how much LCHF has contributed to your success.

Good day here Shugborough hall visit wet no cold but in good compny so enjoyable. Spoke to a national trust worker with the bet job in the world on cold dy, she was standing in a field of long horned cattle with many plastic bags, her job to gather poo for testing from each of them numbering the bags with their identity. The cattle were not cooperating. :joyful:

Recorder quartet went better than expected and we polished up some blues, minuets and jazz. Guests been gone 2 hours, well fed and so I painted today's watercolour, A4 inspired by a Trent Valley sunset about 1 hour 30 minutes to paint.

What a lovely painting! Thank you for posting it. I'm glad the day with fellow musicians went well. :)

Have fun with your auntie in Scotland. :)

Diabetes meds ads on TV here frequently show people eating apples and similar fruits while saying they can lower their A1C with this (whatever) drug. Why don't they try cutting out the fruits instead I always wonder ...

FBG 6.4 AT 6.40am
Coughing fit got me up. Really would have preferred to stay in bed on this dark, wet and cold morning. There is no need for me to be up yet. Still tired. Was very disturbed night. Today will be hunting out the pholcodine. Sugar free ofc.

Good morning all. Farcical. Not just you Jose, so obviously in search of a last big pay off when Daniel sacks you. Fbg 6.1 after yet another sub 20 gms carbs day and tipping the scales below 11 s 6 (72.5 kgs) - It shrinks ya if nothing else. I really am in no position to criticise the eatwell plate based on my bg with this lifestyle. T2 is obviously a serious, potentially life threatening condition and there are proponents of LC/keto with proper scientific backgrounds and (one hopes) good intentions. I can't dismiss that or the success of people on here but it seems a bit of a farce for me atm. Best not take it all too seriously - but btw , it is a lifelong condition needing careful management:bigtears:. So you're out Jose. Ironically, found a meat based meal I thoroughly enjoyed last night - 5.6 @ 2 hrs post prandial. Sucks one in this argot, like Grimpen Mire so in many ways. @gennepher your problems with cochlear implant make my grumbles seem trivial so hugs for that. @SlimLizzy hugs for your early rising and cough. @Muddy Cyclist I absolutely adore that scene (too upbeat for Hardy's Darkling Thrush but gives me that feeling). Have a great day folks. Remind me again, when are we all Sparticus?
