What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I need to back off posting here BUT virtue signalling or not here goes. Grandson loves reading and yesterday was reading his latest school reading book. All about a Prime Minister, initiatives, systems, computer models and climate change - some big ideas and language for 7. Anyhow, as per my earlier post on contortionists, low and behold I am drinking tea with almond milk and eat plenty of avocados. Water is a scarce resource in many parts of the world and millions struggle to meet their needs. Those 2 crops place stupidly high demands on water. My WOE/lifestyle needs a kick up the jacksie to reflect better values even if it will taste even more vile. Take off bg control goggles and life can look very different - which I think is the common theme of those 2 posts.
I have stopped buying avocados for exactly that reason but unfortunately cannot give up my almond butter and flaked almonds because I love them so much. I suppose that it may help that I limit them to 20g a day.

My house is exactly the same, but with coffee, Montezuma 's and dog food. All safely under lock and key. Making sure that when we leave the house the alarm is set and the security cameras on so they stay safe.
Pretty sure if someone wanted those things badly enough there would be nothing that would stop them. Also a very basic human instinct to look after you and yours so proper head scratcher/2 sudoku pooh as they say

@DJC3 Welcome back! :) I hope you will see some blue sky very soon.
@PenguinMum Hug for the FBG and the hunger. Hunger is one of the things I hate about trying to eat LC.

Personally, I am going for wrapping myself in cling film or wearing one of those full face snorkeling masks and carrying a bar of soap and a bath towel. Or better still, just getting on with stuff.

That is my plan too.

Here is another of my blue period...
View attachment 39210

Top one is mixed media paper. In the sketch book, bottom one is the index card.

I used blue watercolour paint. Drew lines up and down the paper, then sprayed with a mister...

I loved the index card one until it blurred and blurred...too much water. Mixed media paper got more the effect I was going for. It has still blurred more than I wanted. I didn't do any more on them now because i will lose that effect. But when i figure out what to add, there may be a tiny drawing to come on the bottom one. But i don't know yet.

Anyway, take care
Have fun
Hugs if you want some...

They look like they're dancing. They are beautiful. Thank you for posting them.

@gennepher your art today was an interesting experiment, agree with you about too much water, happens to me quite often when spraying with a mister then have to fight back to get control. I'm fascinated with what you might do with the more abstract one, I will watch this space with interest.

I didn't post any art yesterday but had been working in a new media for me, stained glass, well not actually but glass painted with glass paint and the design laid out with a liquid metal that looks like lead. The whole thing when finished is baked in the oven at high temps and out comes a piece of waterproof stained glass.

My sons cottage had a small window in the front door which was clear glass and so I came up with the stained glass idea for privacy. Son Is a farrier and so the horse shoe idea, white hot from forge and the heat of suns rays to represent the heat of the fire. If I did it again I would not have so many small areas of colour which made it difficult. All I have to do now is fit it.

How beautiful! :) I love the colors and the horseshoe, and it brought back pleasant memories of our two wonderful farriers. Thank you for posting it.

Morning...an interesting but varied start to my day...Charlie did something unspeakable earlier...I wandered downstairs desperate for coffee immediately my phone started ringing..it was a long standing client so spent the next forty five minuets trying to get a busy custody suite to answer their phone...that done realised no FBG hmmn dilemma coffee or BG no question coffee...not a great start but on a positive note I believe I have managed to delegate a possible journey into the deepest dark corners of south London to a colleague...and Charlie has reminded me there is more to him than his social faux pas on the bedroom carpet so I am posting his photo of him & 'Plumpy' taken yesterday... we are making some progress with those two but Lola will not co-operate & spent the whole visit sulking on one of the chairs under the dining table.

Awww ... those are better than a lot of YouTube videos I've seen! :)
I wish Lola a leafy twig to compensate. (And this is a peach of a twig! ;) )

I am looking forwards to trying more.
Thanks.

This is brilliant. I love it. It might have been difficult with those small areas of colour, but well worth the effort @Muddy Cyclist

@Krystyna23040 I would like to read about your Nespresso flavors.
Hugs to Mr K -- he has been through a shock, good thing he's had rugby to cheer. Hopefully his system will sort itself out ...
Yes - it did cheer Mr K up a lot. He really does immerse himself in the Rugby.

You may regret asking me about coffee.

This is one of the new coffees I like. Ispirazione Venezia. One of Italy’s biggest coffee imports is Brazilian Arabica, so Nespresso 's experts began here. They blended it with reputable, high-grown Arabicas from Colombia for its malty and fruity profile that develops beautifully during roasting, finalizing it all with a touch of African washed Robusta for an extra zing.

A mellow, rounded and delicately aromatic coffee - Its lighter roast keeps the delicate aromas intensely present while developing a thick body. In Venezia you can’t miss the distinct cereal fragrance and those notes of sweet caramel that we all find so reassuring.

Another coffee - Ispirazione Napoli pays tribute to the short, strong and dark espressos of this southern Italian coastal city – a thing of grit and beauty. It’s a velvety, creamy cup with an extremely thick body and a kiss of pleasant bitterness in its aftertaste.

I could go on and on and on about the different coffees as they really do taste different from each other and I do definitely find that without cream you can really taste the differences between the coffees much more intensely.

Blaming the late dinner with two tiny roast potatoes for that. Must stop work earlier. But then, there is still so much to do. And yesterday MrSlim strained his back ...ouch. ofc he is carrying on... which may not be the best thing for it.
Pity you didn't live nearer I would have sent the hubsta around. He would be in his element painting walls and fixing windows. Mind you his expertise is sealant, lethal with a sealant gun.

Seriously, you guys have had a lot to cope with lately, sending best wishes that everything progresses well.

Today I did my 1st Podcast. Loved it. Didn't get in a flap. Really nice interviewer put me right at ease. Had notes as I wanted to remember everything important (still managed to leave bits out!!!) Sharing my journey (via Zoom app) with a podcaster in Columbus, Ohio!!! We could see each other clearly and chatted away for over 1 hour. It was as if he was in the next room. Little things like that astound me.

'Where would I direct anyone looking for info on type 2 diabetes?'. One of the questions. Easy.

1) Dr David Unwin and his fantastic infographs + info (seeing over 75 type 2 patients into remission to date) https://phcuk.org/sugar/

2) diabetes.co.uk and the amazing forum members who give so much to so many, plus the Low Carb Program details can be found there. https://www.diabetes.co.uk/

3) Public Health Collaboration - (PHC) https://phcuk.org/ - a group of Drs, consultants, HCPs and ambassadors dedicated to helping people make informed decisions on their health and wellbeing

4) watch videos on YouTube from Dr Unwin
one of his latest Dr Jason Fung, Dr David Cavan, Dr Richard Bernstein to start with. You wont go far wrong.

And tonight 1st babysitting duty for our new grandson. Played with him all evening, fed and watered! He was blowing raspberries, trumping for fun, making gurming faces, some very strange noises indeed. And that was just my hubby! Granson was a dream!!

Well done on the pod cast. So happy you are batting for the low carb team.
