What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

i would say @Ryhia , as one who has been there, that the flights will NOT take place.

the world will be in lockdown of some sorts by the end of the month
those still able to fly won't either ..
A) be allowed to fly from where they are
B) be able to fly to where they want to go

the world has gone T*ts up..what was normal has now changed.
we must adapt to the new reality.

all those considering holidays anywhere..stop dreaming.please..
you only encourage disappointment
you won't be going anywhere for the next few months.

sorry @Ryhia ..but it is the truth, painful as it maybe.
I actually agree with what you are saying. Its just that its a waiting game at present as not quite in lockdown yet. I think everyone, apart from my granddaughter aged 9 who was so looking forward to going, has come to the understanding that we wont be going away. I am not that bothered really, probably relived bearing in mind we both have health issues, me diabetic OH asthmatic. My one regret is that it was supposed to be an opportunity for the 4 grandchildren to meet up (they live in different parts of the country) I love watching kids play. Having had the opportunity to discuss this yesterday with all concerned, opinions have now changed and Sons and DILs are of the opinion better not to go because of A) or B) above. . In laws also told us yesterday that they were not going regardless as both have health issues as well. I think initially everyone was hopeful but better to be sensible. That said Son No 1, has been in France this last week for work, returned home for the weekend and is back in France Monday. Says where he is based everything ok. Not sure how long he is expected to be there its usually a few weeks. Bit concerning but fully confident his Company has the wherewithal to get him back home should the need arise.

Take care OBB and guard those crumpets...did you get more than one pack?

Do bears poop in the woods??? When the cashier asked why I had 8 packs of crumpets I just said they were as good as toilet paper at a push:)

Sorry to hear about your friend and hope she maks a quick recovery. You might have to do partial self isolation, as I am trying to do atm. Love your last statement lol. Take care.

I will do all I can, I think partial will be my best. Her ladyship has me out 3 days next week as she goes about her socialising :banghead:

Oh dear. I did say when I copied and pasted it on here, that I didn't know what to make of it, so I suppose i must have been half wondering about it.

Are you going to tell her?
I
When I read that you didn't know what to make of it I felt that your gut feeling was that it was maybe a hoax, and I felt exactly the same. I was really pleased that @jjraak did the research and discovered that our gut feeling was right and it was a hoax.

I am afraid I am being really cowardly and hoping that someone from the truly huge amount of people my friend sent it to will tell her it is a hoax.

Spray her down with disinfectant before she gets back in the car..that might call her to heel :singing: I am not good with emojis so if I choose the wrong one please replace it with the correct one :)

With the wide range of topics and emotions on this thread, we need a whole new set of emojis :)

FBG 4.6 this morning. Result of sterilizing my throat with a little dash of alcohol. Was 3.9 yesterday though so maybe not such a false reading. No exercise just carnivore.

Morning... so many holiday plans cancelled & businesses closed worrying times...obviously we need to keep safe that is the main priority but there does need to be support for those that are at risk of loving their livelihoods once the threat has waned...grateful for the news @jjraak I'm taking as many precautions as I can but how to stop touching our faces...garden doors opened beasts charging in & out mowing down anything in sight (twigs & grasses) not a care in their world...good to see some community spirit developing in the outside world...woke to a 6.5
Sitting reading your post with my hand over my face :banghead: Had thoroughly washed them though.

My next project is going to make some memes and emojis, but I need to figure out how to do this. So it may be a few days. Short post earlier simply cos I am planning my shopping trips for next few days. I was shocked when the government suggested to put all 70 year olds basically on lockdown for four months. I was prepared in advance for a possible two months, but four months? I need to choose my food for my diabetes. It’s tins of fish this morning ...

My support network of friends are all over 70, so that is my support network gone. I don’t have any family living close.

Right, I am gone to fight the good battle for tins....in any case ifvthe government back down on their plan, and I can go out to get fresh food, then it’s still in date. Only tins dated 2024 will be bought this morning

Take care....

In true they live amongst us style Ms Widdecombe makes POTUS seem quite the sage
Ann Widdecombe, couldn’t resist wading in, saying: “We’ve had the scare of Sars, bird flu, Ebola and, of course, Aids. None proved as devastating as feared.” So around 35 million Aids-related deaths isn’t devastating? Thanks for letting us know, Ms Widdecombe.

I am like yourself, the people I regard as family all live in the States and have their own problems right now. Over here I have no support network and as far as shopping goes, I've stocked up on tinned protein like fish, ham etc. However, I wasn't thinking that far ahead.

I think this thread has become more important to me than I envisaged, take care.

good morning all :)

4.2 yesterday and 4.6 today

yesterday we managed to get a bit more bush chopped up ;) otherwise we had a quiet day and today we shall be going to mum's for Sunday lunch.
I'm planning chicken wrapped in bacon and roasted served with a bacon, leek and cheese sauce :) mr gee and his mum will have a couple of roasted little potatoes, carrots and broccoli and I'll replace the spuds with cauli (good job I like cauli :hilarious:).

I guess we may be having more quiet days at home if the governement goes ahead :sorry:

Hope your day treats you kindly :)

Good morning everyone from the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of spiced chicken wings (bargain buy from butchers) came in at 4.6 this am.

I have the house on lockdown and have introduced draconian measures in both kitchen (no pinching other folks favorite mugs) and also in the bathroom (read your own stuff). I have distributed bags to neighbors asking them to contribute to the needy (loo rolls, sanitizing gel, paracetamol, cake). Should keep me in supplies for a while.

On a serious note, my mother informs me that France is now in lock down but as she said on the phone last night, catching the virus will be cheaper than going to Switzerland. My parents are quite sanguine about most things. They may be OK. They have four gardens and an orchard to play with and both have a range of interests to stop themselves going stir crazy. They have though asked friends and relatives not to call for a while.

My own children have so far not begun to nag me but I have already told them that I am fairly well drilled in avoiding situations that may not be good for my health. Also, I have checked my gun cabinet, cleaned everything and stocked up on ammo. Bike has also been serviced, fueled up and ready a for the apocalypse.

Have a great day if you can, drinking warm water often seems like a reasonable step to take. Must have koffy.

Thank you @OldButBold

Am waiting among the fighting hoardes now. Shop opens at 10. Then I have a route of different shops planned. Any hint of any bother among the shoppers and I am out of there to the next possible shop. I hope to be back well before midday. Hopefully shoppers will behave themselves.
You just reminded me of tinned ham.
Catch you all later.

Well, if you're around in D2 and happen to see Lone Wolf™ from the clan Nocturnal Activity... don't shoot ;) Our clan is especially for non-social people who like gaming, we don't team up (much) or use the chatter. PS - I am rubbish as I don't like PvP, here's my Hunter

View attachment 39420

Never been in a clan OBB, but I can see the benefits/enjoyment of being in one, I'm fairly new to this game downloaded it off of steam after getting bored with elder scrolls. I'm still at the running around shooting everything stage, I tend to be slower on the uptake of the game dynamics than everyone else, my son in law will study youtube videos for hours before he even buys a game, so starts off better than most. I have a 900 warlock and an 850 titan, I prefer the warlock tbh. I did have a go in the crucible but it was embarrassing, some of these players are so good you don't get a shot away before they dispatch you.
Fallout 4 is still my go back to game, although I enjoyed the Bioshock series recently, they were really was really atmospheric.

I still use trick60 as a name in D2 I didn't know you could change it, so I'll keep an eye out for the lone wolf and keep my head down.
