Well it was either all the insulin I took earlier in the day that started to work or it was the 35 miles I ended up of total riding on my exercise bike during the day because my blood sugars wouldn't quite behave that caused me to be in the 3's and low 4's starting at 3 am, even with drinking a glass of Oj and half a vegan candy bar, and a few vegan ***** bears. I finally gave up and got up at 7 am and had a vegan taco.

My Bg's the night before were in the high 7's which was unusual for me but you know how that goes and I only ate one meal during the day because my sugars kept creeping upwards (hence the exercise bike riding) but nothing hugely noticeable, but I finally decided to change my Omnipod pod early evening and poof, my Bg's immediately fell into line........................until 3 in the morning when I just kept dropping. I'm pretty sure it was all that bike riding as I hadn't had any insulin since before 7 pm.

Isn't it fun to be a T1?

Hello friends,
I hope everyone is safe and well! I’m in a bit of a situation - no test strips situation, I ordered them a week and bit ago. Ive been checking every now and then, currently waiting for them to dispatch my order. But I seem to have survived 48 hours, thanks to pump and it’s partner in crime, CGM.
I quite miss starbucks and takeaways, I do make my own coffee just like Starbucks but I couldn’t get any more sugar free syrup. so it has been a very tea-ry time without my beloved Frappuccino.
My therapist called me today because we agreed on telephone calls was a good idea, she shared her insight on dementia because I was facing difficulties in coping, like being attacked for trying to help a resident with her personal care. (She tried to bite me and scratch me) She looked at me like I was a monster but I was doing it in her best interests. But after that she doesn’t remember being showered and goes back to telling me about someone not doing something right or conspiracy theories or her husband.

Morning all, @MeiChanski that sounds tough, credit for doing what you do.

Another beautiful day predicted here, let's hope lots of people don't decide to drive somewhere they don't need to. Loads of good people here doing all sorts of things to help others, but the biggest news of all is that I managed to get a delivery slot with Tesco! So I've spoken to a few neighbours and my order will be much larger than if it was just for me, but it's a good way for those of us who are going nowhere to get stocked up on basics and non-perishables that are starting to run out. Should be fun sorting it out when it gets here - I'll need to do that and leave it outside for people to collect, so best hope it doesn't rain tomorrow.

Good morning and its another sunny day on this Good Friday.
BG's have been better, even though I have been doing less exercise :banghead:  6.4 this morning and with a very steady line throughout the night too :D
Whatever you are doing today, stay safe and take good care if going outside.

Well we are off to Boscastle today from our home in the Midlands.
Travelled down the M5, can’t recall the last time it was this quiet.
Got stopped on the A30 by the police, gave them a story about this and that, fortunately they didn’t check the boot or they would have seen our cases. Sent us on our way. Wasn’t sure my Cornish accent was overly convincing.
Parked up now and getting ready to have a full English in the Riverside Hotel and later a walk up onto the headland and look out to sea.
Sun is shining and all is good in the world.

It’s amazing where a bit of imagination can take you.
Treat yourself to a virtual day out. They haven’t banned it yet.

Nice! A virtual day out.. I'll roll with that.
Don't forget to check out the museum of witchcraft..

Spent yesterday afternoon "pimping my ride."
Saved a fortune on fuel in the last few weeks?

Planning on spending time on the forest moon of Endor, hanging out with the Ewoks..

Hopefully I can avoid some imperial battle cruisers along the way. But at least they have full PPE.

Love the virtual day out idea - I’ll head up to London, spend the morning taking in an exhibition at the V&A, nice long lunch with a bottle of wine and a book, then a matinee at the theatre - something upbeat like singing in the rain. All without my family please as this mother needs some time ALONE :)

Morning all,
The good news is it's a sunny badge and bin day. The arm is still in crisis, total agony last night but I don't want to go to the vets or A&E. More Volterol and some exercise.
I'm going to get the Renault ready a trip to Snowdonia, great idea @therower
Have a lovely day

Perfect idea @therower. I’ve packed a small bag. I won’t need much just daughters, sons in and out law, grandsons, husband, a swimsuit a toothbrush, a good book and a sundress and I’m off to the South Pacific. No hurricanes are forecast, just sun, beautiful fish, clean beaches and delicious food. T1’s a bit upset that it’s not allowed to come too.

My ancient aunt had dementia for the last five or six years of her life. The ‘real’ aunt disappeared. One thing that I learned was that I couldn’t take anything she did or said personally. Her memory and her hold on reality gradually disappeared and the easiest way for me to deal with the great sadness of losing her before she went was to enter any imagined situation with her. Luckily she didn’t become violent. I think that the aggression of some forms of dementia is very hard to deal with.
Have you talked with the other staff about their strategies? After all, you’re fairly new to the job but some of them may have developed more understanding of the ‘clients’ in the home and they may have techniques to respond to them.
There are no doubt some good online resources too.

The V&A lunches are very delicious @ArtemisBow, I may have one delivered to the South Pacific along with a swift tour of the Japanese exhibits. Our daughters were brought up on endlessly repeated videos of Singing in the Rain, Bringing up Baby (sorry) and Calamity Jane.

5 weeks since I last saw my "stylist" and I am looking in the mirror contemplating the first home haircut.

The question is, do I let Mrs Urb' loose with the scissors to attempt some sort of pseudo Vidal Sassoon styleee, or just get the clippers out and go directly to the GI Joe look.
