Like two naughty kids ;););) Happy birthday.
Hehe. Thank you, for the best wishes.

And fully agree about @gennepher .
Truly some wonderful people about.

Now let's hope Popeye gets better asap
So we can let the rest of that breathe out

Take care Genn. Rest up a while
You done your bit, today..bravo

I’m back.

I went out quickly because that was the one hour window the local vet was open before coronavirus. I was hoping to see someone in there. But there was no one there.

Their main hospital is quite a way away. It was a landline number to phone (no mobile).

I had seen @PenguinMum ‘s offer to telephone before I went out, so just thought I would come back with this number.

But the fruit and veg lady (in her 80’s I mentioned the other day) waved to me so I went in and explained it all. And my deafness. She got on her mobile with the vet number. I don’t know what transpired over that because I couldn’t follow the conversation she had. Then she made another couple of calls. She asks a few questions and asks me if I have a car. I said yes. Then she tells me a farm vet, over the border will leave some antibiotic tablets in an envelope pinned to the door. Can I go? Yes I said.

I am crying as I am driving. The police checkpoint couldn’t get much coherent sense out of me and let me through. The tablets were pinned to the door (it looks like he has given out tablets that way before with the pin holes). And on the envelope was written NO CHARGE.

I am back home now. Popeye has had his first tablet (it took him by surprise).

I am tired.

Thank you for all your advice and help and support this morning. I will go through your individual messages in a minute.

I was in pieces before @HarryBeau
I feel calmer now. The vegetable lady just took charge.

Good morning/afternoon. :)
You are right, it is very early. I woke up, and then I was hungry, and then the KittenCat wanted breakfast, so we got on up. But now, fed and watered/coffeed, I have just gotten back into bed and am waiting for her to join me.

How are you and your girlcats?
I thought it was early for you to be up and about! Bobs has been missing for a couple of hours and while I am locking her and her mice out I do think she is straying. When I next see her I might lock her in for a while. I loved the poems you wrote about Bobs and her escapades, thank you. Hope you and the KC have a nice day when it starts! Its scorching here about 25 d c. We are so lucky to have a garden, so terribly hard for folk in the city in flats and limited access to outside. So much to be grateful for. I think life might become simpler after this with everyone being more satisfied except for the worry of jobs of course. Our two sons are in sustainable jobs but No 2’s GF worried about hers.

@gennepher oh for the kindness of strangers. There is so much good in all this pandemic everywhere if we look for it. You must be so relieved and exhausted.
Take a well earned rest and eat something, anything! I wish I could send a drone to drop some hot x buns into you!
Thanks @PenguinMum
I am exhausted and drained.
Thank you. I would eat a whole pile of hot x buns if they got delivered :)
The potatoes I was going to plant to make more potatoes are going to be cooked and fried...I don’t care about what I should eat...

Fried potatos are one of the best things for comfort...you can think about the carbs another time. Give Popeye a hug from me and the girls.

Lost the thread because it was clogging up my alerts and because I haven't been happy lately but I wanted to share my happy crocodile with you. It was just there when I scanned my Libre this morning to a fasting bg of 7.4 :)

T2D day yesterday.

A little normality in a world in chaos...bliss.

Birthday wish ..?
A quick return for all to the normal we all moaned about only weeks ago...:D

Oh, and one more next year, would be rather nice, too, God.... IF your listening :)

That's excellent. I have recently started using Manuka honey and it cleared up Archie's cut paw really quickly. The only thing was that he kept ripping the bandage off so he could lick the honey. Of course Popeye would find it really difficult to lick his head.

I also gave it to Archie after he had the antibiotics for his tummy upset.

Brilliant news. The antibiotics, together with all the other things you are doing, will definitely sort out Popeye and he will soon be 'on the mend' How kind of the fruit and veg lady to phone.

Actually, Popeye is doing a not too bad job on cleaning the back of his head...he is a pretty good contortionist with his front paws and licking them and reaching all the way round to the back of his head!

yes it is pretty good stuff...

Me and him are in the potting shed. He wanted to come out here, he was waiting by the back door and looking at me.
So, I picked him up and carried him in. But I cannot leave the door open for fresh air because of the feral cats. A bit like a sauna in here.
So, finally I wedged stuff in the door opening so we could at least breathe.
