What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fbg 7.1

Temp 36.1

Been awake since 2:53 am
But got 5 solid hours sleep before then. That is brilliant for me at the moment.

So been making notes from Youtube, then morning (from my bed) exercises, and before I got into my meditation, Iell asleep as dawn streaked across the sky, and so I got another one and a half hours sleep.

This is the most sleep I have had in a long time.

I haven't checked outside yet as to any night time Intruders visiting, but from my bed I can see those cheeky blackbirds are stealing the thatch from my wooden swing for their nest building...

I have my phone camera at the ready to catch the culprits, but as soon as they see a movement from my bed they fly off..

Morning All. A dastardly 6.3 this morning, the less said on that the better.
Friday again, how did that happen so quickly? I lost again yesterday in the Daily Scrabble Challenge, Mr PM getting smug now. Today I have the excitement of collecting my box of C&C from the farm shop. @gennepher glad you got good sleep and hope any nocturnal thieves were foiled. Have a great Friday if you can. But more importantly stay well, stay safe.

Up in the middle of the night after talking to my family in the US. President Agolf Twitler is never far from their thoughts, his leadership on par with Nero except that Twitler is counting his money as the US burns.

In the recent past, the US went to war to 'liberate' the Middle East from 'tyrants' (they originally placed in power) and now they have their own tyrant, a truly evil excuse for a human who extols himself as some sort of messiah and his cult is happy because he represents every racist and evil thought they ever had, their twisted fundamentalist ideology supporting a liar that has broken most of their precious commandments and all of the seven cardinal sins.

My father-in-law, a retired chief surgeon back on the frontline helping in NY, my sister-in-law nursing on the frontline in NY. These people and millions more should not be putting their lives on the line to put gold in Twitler's pockets.

Like you, I hope Cuomo and others fight for the people not the Fatted Calf
Yes, my friends and relatives in the USA are quite worried. It’s like watching a car crash in slow motion.

@gennepher Good morning. I'm glad you got some sleep. How are you and Popeye this morning?

@PenguinMum Hugs for the Scrabble loss. What are C&C? Calves and chickens? Corn ... No... cabbages and cream? Ooh ... chocolate and custard? :)

2:30 here and I am still awake ... I slept very late yesterday morning.

..... Day 25..

Fbg 6.1
Temp 35.5

Life is peaceful and so quiet.
So lucky, when others are busy
Or lives are in turmoil

Lauren's best friend, lost her step dad last night.
Man raised her since she was 15,
So very close.

I spoke of him in earlier post.
Contracted Pneumonia

Tested positive for Covid,
Been in hospital ever since
Was on ventilator, came off it.
Covid passed...
He was moved to a home on
Tuesday

got call he had deteriorated yesterday
Her and her mum gowned up to say goodbye
He passed 2 hours after they left.

Rip

Safe journeys all
Stay well.

Good morning everyone, especially anniversary celebrators, from the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of spiced and roasted cauliflower with sweet and sour bell peppers came in at a little carby 5.5 this am.

Mushrooms. I woke this morning with a craving for mushrooms. Now I know where cravings can go, I remember my mother sending my father out at all times of the day or night to search for cravings. She never seemed to want cravings before I was born but then I am the eldest sibling and my memories of the before-time are quite foggy as it was a while back.

From the undertones on the news (no - not teenage kicks), non-medical face masks may soon be the next big thing. Hedge fund managers may soon be swooping onto it but I just want one that doesn’t clash with my Che Guevara t-shirt.

Have as wonderful a day as you can. Koffy.

the guy is a narcissistic fool.
We have exactly the same just with a plummy English accent. Both are highly likely to win second terms because democracy works that way. The folks selling that kind of model have the best salesmen right now and know how to manipulate the wisdom of the crowd best. Bunker/Hunker down for a decade and do your blood pressure a favour.:angelic:

Morning @PenguinMum .

I see what you mean, but for me the weeks can't go by quick enough.

Think I'd happily take a pill to knock me out for the time and just wake up when this is all over, and respawn as LIFE 2.0

We have taken the quiet moments and enjoyed.
Sure others have done similar.

And we are blessed to have that option, when so many don't, so grateful for that,

but that pill..
Yep, I'd still take it.

Good morning Saskia. Hope you can get back to sleep.
Sorry to disappoint you but its Click and Collect which our supermarkets offer and my farm shop does a version of. With the supermarket you click on the items you want, choose a slot to collect (very difficult to find atm) pay by card. With my farm shop I email them the items I would like to receive and they try and fulfill my order. They will call me today to take payment over the phone and will tell me if anything is missing but at this stage I cannot add anything. They have their own butchers section, vast cheese counter, veg & fruit, farm eggs, rustic bread. They do have a store upboard section but I dont use that. So I get given my order no and I dont need to enter the shop, staff to and fro between the shop and a store in the yard and I give my order no and they place my box on the ground by my car.

Morning...nothing much to do for several weeks this morning in a rush...blood test yuk! but more importantly I managed to get a click & collect slot with Tesco's... it's a twenty minute drive away but I consider it a major victory given our current circumstances...beasts fed... trying not to listen to Helen Whately The Care Minister on the news I find it difficult to believe she's in office it's like watching a giddy young school 'gel'...woke to a 6.2 will catch up here later keep safe everyone.

We are all so different aren’t we. We may decide to stay in self isolation for longer than the Govt advises. We are talking about it and will just see how it all goes. The only downside for us is not seeing our boys. Our eldest son who lives alone in Dublin is finding it hard, just wants to get out and play golf. Everytime he has driven out of his area x3 to buy essentials he has been stopped by the Gardai who last time told him he was just outside the allowed 2km so they wouldnt fine him. He was on his way to the off licence and butcher in Stillorgan.

The nocturnal thieves were foiled @PenguinMum
Thank you.

Have oodles of fun at the farm shop!

I’m convinced that she is a prop reject from the first Blade Runner film and just wheeled out when no-one else is available, a C30 cassette containing pre-recorded soundbites shoved into the back of her head and then switched on.

Good luck with the blood test, is it at your surgery? We live so rural a 20 min drive to shop is our normal. Agree re Helen Whately. She made Piers Morgan mad as a bag of cats the other morning by permanently smiling and sniggering while discussing care home deaths. Another graduate from the Chris Grayling School of uselessness.

Very strict near Dublin then @PenguinMum
2km is 1.24 miles. Most of us would find it problematical getting to any available shop in that distance.
I would stay in self isolation for longer than government advises...
Initially the information was 4 months to self isolate for people over 70. Is that information still the same?
I don't have a problem with that because I enjoy being on my own.
As long as I can go and collect my meds once a month and do a top up shop, I am fine.

Someone was supposed to collect my meds this last Tuesday, a few days ago, from the local help group, and she neither got back to me or responded to my texts for me to find out what was happening. So I drove down to the my chemist, sat in the car, yelled my name (they are not letting any one in the chemists shop), and half hour later a couple of carrier bags came out and she put them on the table on the pavement. I was getting out of the car, but a member of the public picked them up and brought them over to my car and threw them on the back seat (they were the requisite 6 feet away). You are not allowed to buy anything from this chemists shop during this Coronavirus crisis. So no cotton wool for Popeye, but his head is healing now. Apart from the top of his head looking a huge bald patch. And there was abundant kitchen towels (and eggs) at the Polish shop at the back of the chemists. So I am stocked up on both now.

My internet friend who did the phoning and emailing to sort this 'help' for food and medicine for me is furious it didn't work out and wanted to try again. She thinks I shouldn't leave the house at all. I have said I am fine for doing this once a month. It also probably just keeps my car battery charged up as well.

An email from her this minute...she has finally accepted this situation and realises that the help organisation are probably completely overwhelmed in this district. Now hopefully she will stop nagging me. Thank goodness!!!

Take care everyone
Stay safe

A rather depressing read, but sadly can't say I'm at all surprised

Over 3 months from Hancock telling us in parliament it was all in hand

Beginning to start thinking @dunelm
Blade runner cast offs could have a smidgen of truth in it. Mmhh

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who watch the coronavirus government briefing and switch the idiot box off as soon as the journalists start asking questions.

A hmmmm 7.3 this morning.

Congratulations to those who have earned them, hugs to those that need them and a swift kick up the rear if you feel you require one.

My hospital telephone diabetic appointment has been brought forward from next week to later this morning, this should be interesting as I have not had the blood tests done , friends and family have told me bluntly that going to the gp's surgery for the blood tests would be putting myself at risk and being on the at risk register I agree with them. It might be an interesting discussion.

Well folks and I hope you all are well, have a great day and ask yourself this question, what are all the traffic wardens doing now?
I shall "go now " and make a koffy in my " blue " moody mug and take my pills for this morning.
