What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morning and 5.6 for me today, amazed as I eat half a bread and butter pudding last night. Don't be too shocked my half was made with Skinny Bread 0.2 grams of carbs per slice, worked well although was meant to last two days, no will power.:joyful:

Another family meal this evening so that will be the highlight of my day.

Have the best day you are able.

Good morning everyone from another morning of bird songs and the very quiet rustling of the trees in the garden.

The wonder wheel of a plate full of courgette fritters with limes, courtesy of that there Nigella, came in at 5.7 this am. Recipe here if you want to have it: https://www.nigella.com/recipes/courgette-fritters

I spent most of yesterday out in the garden; reading, sorting out the summer house, supervising Mrs Miggins as she fiddled and faffed about in the border at the front of the house, the place of regimental haircuts and anit-cat fortifications thanks to the crazed cat lady; she with the 12 cats who have now taken over our mostly deserted cul-de-sac and show off in the sunshine by laying in the middle of the road or on top of car roofs. We will probably need more lavender, rue and that scaredy cat plant. I expect a new batch of pine cones will also be foraged for.

Schools. So far, Little Miss Pamplemouse (Y1) has already had a letter informing her parents that her school will not be re-opening. It’s an old victorian inner city school and they can only put in distancing measures if they demolish the school and start again. Also, Mr Pickle (Y6) has had a message about his SAT’s that have now been confirmed as cancelled. His school is negotiating with secondaries to ensure predictive results are passed on and that they will have a smooth transition in the Summer.

I hope that you have the very best day that you can have, koffy calls and I have some plants to water.

@geefull nice doodle and nothing poor about the watercolour nice light use of paint.

@gennepher like the way you captured the light on that grass, perfect early morning painting.

@Ryhia
A very strong drawing - Is it my imagination or can I even see the face of a tree spirit in there as well?
Now you have gone and done it that's all I can see.

Great to read your fbg is good and the pudding worked so well. Bread and butter pudding with Skinny Bread has been on my radar for a long time but my poor bg control stops me trying. Very interested now. - were blow torched inulin or fibre sugar involved as a glaze? Glad it worked so well - not easy for some of us to find much to enjoy in lowcarbland.

''Twas good, held back a little on Sugar and Currants In my half but was still sweet enough for me, @ianpspurs crust was still a little chewy but that's ok you get Aerobic exercise whilst enjoying the moment. :joyful:
Sounds good. Maybe soak the fruit in rum, use fibre sugar and inulin/fibre sugar caramelised with blow torch to crisp crust a tad? After yesterday's success with raspberry fool that sounds like a project for The Food Fairy. Perhaps not a whole quart of cream first orf.

My latest attempt at a low carb bread. A lot higher than the skinny bread people have been making at 3.9 grams per slice. Tastes ok but loaf a little on the small size.

Looks good to me - very like skinny bread. Your bg control is really good and you are well read around diabetes so I'm sure it ticks all the boxes. Tastes and control are very much an N=1 game IMHO. Another nature versus nurture riddle

Good MORNING Survivors Club. :D

well what can the world throw at us today to bat away, as we stride like giants across the land.

ok Maybe not the land, the local roads..at least until it becomes clear what is and isn't acceptable.

( Do not want to be part of some revenue raising scam...though did see this for those concerned..
The 4 E's..nice to know .

TFL close to collapse...Govt bailed it out..Yikes :wideyed:

For me yesterday was a dodgy one.
felt ok until early evening then felt a little rough, shaky, a little wobbly legged
and a very disgruntled stomach took me off of bed early
a few trips to the loo, all coinciding with what i guess a slight migraine feels like, that starry vision ?

so one full nights sleep later, and an early rise for a change.
and i feel good.

FBG 6.1
Temp 35.6
SAT 98%
and after one trip to the little boys room,
cabin pressure has now been normalised.;)

Something i ate..most likely.
over it now god willing.

Poached eggs on toast for breakfast..
well it is FRIDAY..:D

Just a single pink gin during the clap there were less than usual...I am reviewing my clapping what I want to do is clap & shout give them a pay rise & cancel student nurse debt...'Plumpy' comes in & out now when he can force himself through the hole he made in the gate...Lola & Charlie ignore him he barks at them the odd rush they just duck behind the sofa and give him the middle finger...both are busy at the moment hunting a fly that just come in from the garden.

a win for the clap and social meet.
very important and one of the few real excuses we have/had, so grab it with both hands.

yeah i get that 'fewer' out.
not sure i don't feel a little insulted Hancock n co Clap as well.

The Doctors & Nurses/care homes/ front lines wouldn't have be under so much pressure if they had been
more diligent in their duties.

Agree on the shouting, though

i presume now we have lock down all but over, in name
the reasons will fade and the clap will peter out naturally ?

and a major funny for the katz taunting Plumpy....:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

also a fan of netflix..been watching the Witcher, and The last kingdom

very much GoT type..well success breeds copies
all enjoyable romps.

must check up in schitts creek.
like humour, got put onto trailer park boys..naw not for me,
but i didn't like South park either

Some would call it crazy. :joyful: One of the other things we did as teenagers is tie our two wheel bikes to our ankle with a long piece of rope and then see who could ride closest to the edge of the Canal where the lock dropped to the next level, we would put powdered resin on our tires leaving marks on the Staffordshire Blue Bricks that lined the path, the rope was so that you could pull your bike out of the canal if you were unlucky enough to end up in the cut, yes I did once or twice.

Now THAT ....is JUST MAD....:woot:

:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

and now we're worried about a VIRUS...

Do one Covid..:D

Quick question for those in the know.
Before breakfast FBG 6.1 ( Darned DP)
Two hours and ten mins later BG is 4.4
Been pottering about watering plants etc. No heavy work yet.
Am not used to such a low number.
How low is too low?
