What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and again no time, oversleeping is a double edged spear.

A 5.0 this morning, whoops bad news and lots planned if I take any insulin it will be messy. My problem, sympathy not required, apart from maybe sympathy for the devil, must roll on.....
Sorry folks no time to read the posts and admire the art work, perhaps I can catch tomorrow, subject to today's progress.
Have a good day, remembering to give all media a big miss.

My painting for today.
A friend set me a Painting challenge in the night.
Anyway, her video version has no subtitles, but I found one on you tube with subtitles.
You mask off paper but I chose a canvas, with masking tape (I used washi tape) into squares. Then just make marks (using any tool) with watercolour or acrylics. You use 3 colours and then black and white as well. Then take the tape off when dry. Take half hour to do this.

I used old partially dried watercolour tube, and some old acrylic tubes. Initially I added water as you can see because it went under the washi tape. But the colours turned to mud. So I dried the watery bits, and just used the watercolour paint direct from the tube. I wore disposable gloves, abandoned my brushes, and used my fingers, or either end of the watercolour tube to spread the paint. And the plastic screw top as well to make marks.

So two photos here. The first is still with the washi tape on. The second photo is with the washi tape taken off. And you can see where the watery bits spread under the washi tape.

Now with the washi tape taken off...

Do I like this technique? I am not sure...

Very good - I like the technique and what you did with it.

The magpies are up early and so are the pigeons
No idea which kind or how many on our roof today gennepher but they woke me up after just four hours sleep...might have to train Charlie & Lola to get up them keep em quiet.

Morning...late checking in been busy with emails & coffee since just after 6am thanks to the birds woken super early...getting in a little routine today must develop that further...waiting for the debate on whether we feed hungry children through the summer holidays shocked we have to have a vote on that...eating a little better now too much junk during lockdown...woke to a 6.7.

@ianpspurs thanks for you artwork appreciation @dunelm big skies it is then, do you have Mr Turners Address?

@gennepher interesting and fun just to be allowed to let rip with the colours. I do think I liked it better before the tape was removed, maybe next one with not so symmetrical tape, more jagged, more confusing, different widths, but placing the tape in the correct position will be the key to a masterpiece which in your hands I'm sure it will be.

Thank you @Muddy Cyclist

I shall experiment further with this!

good afternoon all :)

4.2 yesterday and 4.6 today

by the look of it the less I have to do the more time it takes me to do it :sorry:

forgot to post yesterday because we went out for a walk in the evening, did do some art, once again was trying out doing things in a slightly different style, it didn't impress me much when it was finished, :hilarious: even mr gee decided it wasn't my best effort. I'll post it one day just because...there is always a delay in the art I post though because I have to get out the scanner so I usually scan them a batch at a time.

Yesterday we managed to get some shed tidying done outside :joyful: which is why our walk took place quite late in the evening, it was still very pleasant though :)

This morning we were off out fairly early to take mum to a neighbouring town to go to her bank branch. Before the C19 lockdown they used to run a bank branch in a van two mornings a week to the nearest town but that was discontinued at the beginning of the lockdown. Mum was understandably getting a bit twitchy about having several weeks pension money sitting in the house.

Not too many people out and about when we got there and the shops that were open had well signed C19 measures for distancing, mr gee went into the bakers (only 3 people allowed at a time and 2m apart), to get mum some of their sausage rolls which she's quite partial to :D and an older guy just barged right through the middle of the shop, no mask, no distancing, demanding 'pies' :( the staff were not pleased but mr gee says he thinks perhaps the guy was just 'away with the fairies'

Back home now and contemplating a bit of garden work :)

@gennepher - two interestingly different and fun takes on art work, The first shows what a varied range of tools and effects is available when working digitally (reminded me a bit of how it made me feel going out to a different location this morning!), might have a go at digital myself sometime :) The second is a fine idea for just 'creating' and trying out different, slightly random colour effects, artstorming ;)

@Muddy Cyclist - I absolutely love the finished Sherbrook valley painting, particularly the sky and the area where the tree impinges on the landscape :joyful: I too look forward to more skies ;)

art catch up -
no 1 - possibly the final 'inspired by' a specific artist picture for a while. this is inpired by a Canadian artist called Enda Bardell, I enjoy her colour handling :)
