I do so love dragons, well drawn and a lovely way to spend time. Creativity is never a waste of that precious commodity that each and every one of us have access to,

… I met a man whose name was Time,
And he said, "I must be going, "
But just how long ago that was,
I have no way of knowing.…

From a well loved folk song we perform.

Good Morning and 6.1 for me today.

A Muddy Bike ride calls, must go faster or find more hills and burn some calories.

Take care of time, use it well and enjoy your day. Keep safe.

Thank you, I should be 71kg but at that I feel skinny, I will go with my non scientific how I feel and keep :) rocking horse sounds a great choice and you can use the droppings in your veg patch.:joyful:
Rocking horse is at her house so No 1 son will use droppings on his veggies. It was bought by us on behalf of my uncle who seems to think £50 will buy "something to last." as per once upon a time. He recently had a heart attack - I found out I'm NOK/ only family member who needs to know as he won't allow his sister access to his affairs:arghh: - so I won't tell him the actual price.

Absolutely amazing @Alien Aspie
You are a master at everything......
I think I will go back to being a hermit....

I am the definition of "Jack of all trades but master of none". The butterfly effect of my autism leads to me applying myself to many things.

The upside is I understand that Life never repeats itself, every moment being unique. I believe that today is never the same as yesterday, as that is just a habit. Instead, I see every day as an opportunity for something new and beyond my comfort zone :)

Very proficient and able to make a decent living in many trades/ways at the very least. Is a perfectionist streak the 8 ball from hell for where you are on the spectrum?

Not really, we have 'special interests' and these tend to be things we become extreme experts on. If pursued correctly with proper guidance it can be very lucrative. My own special interest funded my 'variable' existence for most of my life and in some ways still does.

The common problem for younger people on the spectrum is that they are often not allowed to play to their strengths which invariably is their special interest. This can cause many other problems which are then seen (and treated) as co-morbid when they are not. The world is full of spectrum folk following their dreams :)

Thank you. Made me think of the problems some students had with the very odd notion of an entitlement curriculum. Always puzzled me. I guess in theory I would be entitled to a C section for equality purposes but what benefit would it bring?

When I was at school there was no diagnosis, I was regarded as 'very bright but lacking attention'. My real education occurred in the public library, the art museum, and the science museum. I only ever related to two of my teachers, my art teacher who saw me struggling with classical art and moved me to technical drawing where I shone, and my Eng Lit/Lang teacher who encouraged me to write poetry as a way to express my frustration and become a polyglot to focus my mind. Going on to earn my degrees in my own way was, to some extent, a middle finger to my schools.

My children were diagnosed early on and still the schools were less than useful. My kids had computers from when they were still in single digits mostly because I didn't want them using mine. Their senior school frowned on the use of computers yet for my kids it was where their special interests lay so we ignored the school. My daughter focused on digital art and is now a director/producer of Japanese anime movies, whilst my son went on to be a lead designer for a major computer games franchise. They achieved this not because of their schooling but in spite of their schooling.

Sorry if I sound harsh but I still help out as an advocate for ASD kids and I can get a bit 'heated' ;)

6.40am FBG 5.7

Day is threatening to be sunny and warm[https://www]

Or to rain. MrSlim is off to the scrap yard.

Think I will have another coffee.

Two days collection of runner beans and about a week of courgettes. All destined for the compost heap. To me this is a criminal waste of food, but have kgs of them frozen already, probably enough for a year, in the freezer and it seems nobody wants them. Except for my French friend, who will get some fresher beans. Have tried putting out for free, but only a few went.

My head says they are not so fresh now, but still finding it almost impossible to discard beans, which, if bought from a supermarket i would still be using.

Plus there are more on the plants ...ready for harvesting.

Not harsh at all. Some schools don’t pick up on very subtle signs. For several years I was employed by a local LEA to “teach” children that did not go to school, mainly young people who had been plonked somewhere on the autism ladder but not on the rungs that most of us frequent and where schools could not fathom that some bodies contained wiring that was different from the centre of the bell curve and therefore needed an approach other than sitting still and listening to someone waffle on for an hour or so. At the wiz bang end - those students set the pace and I acted as a resource. I think that they taught me a lot more than I taught them. We did visit schools, using capitation bribes, to use science labs and art rooms and I accompanied one student to college for A levels at age 14 and then for his first year at university at 16 where he studied theoretical physics. He later did a masters in that subject, followed by a degree in fine art. Not bad for someone who was kicked out of school at age 9 for being incapable of being taught anything - problem was that he was the cleverest human in the school at that age and no one picked up on it.

Not harsh just telling it as it is/was. At least you found two teachers who seemed to understand you and provide a diet on which you could thrive. Education, like most things, is very N=1. Schools are very magnolia all round and conform at all costs oriented. Since they were Goved things are desperate IMHO. You must be very proud of your children and the help you have been able to provide from the inside as it were. Typed before yours @dunelm but excellent reply.

My sister once dated a bloke, a farmer who lived on the family farm not far from Jonzac in the Cherante-Maratime. His mother used to harvest beans - sack loads of them and then jar them up - 365 jars - one a day until the next harvest - great enterprise - disgusting, boring, yuk - but cheap.
