curiously, like @gennepher I too painted a waterfall which will be in the next batch of scanning I do.

two bits of art since I missed posting yesterday
no 1 - the sunset was curiously bright

no 2 - as I mentioned before I wanted to have another go at roses, here they are

Your roses are stunning. So beautiful and delicate and I can almost feel the velvetness of the petals.

A wonderful seascape. Some days this time of year the sunset has a yellow glow.

My sister sent me lots of big sky pictures all in different moods, they are all from her back garden which is long and looks on to flat open countryside. I have been asked to paint three portrait landscapes of the skies. I have started with Columbius Clouds and the wild flower meadow she planted, not happy with the Ranch Fence but she wanted that to be included in each painting. I shall not use this as one of the three, not at all happy with the result, but it's a start.... A4 watercolour about 90 minutes..

I bought a Halloween face mask, just as a joke when I Skype my family in Australia. I have captions so I know what’s been said.

So today I put my scary Halloween face mask on. I ask my 9 year old grandson if I should wear it to the shops instead of my regular face mask, or would it be too scary. No, says my grandson, that mask is not scary, your own face is scary because you have no front teeth...

Thank you. French Horne now that's impressive, lots of puff needed? Our Recorder Quartet is known as the 'Humpshire Huffers' we all originate from Willenhall and do a lot of Huffing.

Edit.. Willenhall folk were often referred to as coming from Humpshire apparently working on locks for which Willenhall was famous gave many workers humps, round shouldered.

Like both of your art works today, both are exceptional in the way you have approached the media, talent indeed.

Our eldest played violin in School, County Youth and Uni Orchestras.
She did a very nice rendition of Anny's Song at concerts that brought tears to the duchess and my eyes. My father and his family were musical and played brass band type music.

I guess it all skipped a generation with me! I much preferred worrying my mother by roaming off around the countryside!
The last thing I would do was to tell her where I was going.

I would be worried sick if I thought my 14 year grandson was doing what I did.

That is sad if they can't function.
I wonder if they forget they have eaten? Or even forget to eat?

I think that I read about a dog with dementia who got completely obsessed with food so maybe he had forgotten he had eaten.

Our eldest played violin in School, County Youth and Uni Orchestras.
She did a very nice rendition of Anny's Song at concerts that brought tears to the duchess and my eyes. My father and his family were musical and played brass band type music.

My fiddle playing is known for bringing tears to many of my fellow musicians eyes, I'm sure for a completely different reason to your eldest.

I play a number of instruments Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Bass Recorder, bass Guitar, Numerous Blues Harmonicas, yet the one instrument I would love to play really well still sounds like I am torturing the cat, sorry about that image all you feline lovers.

0C and a heavy frost to start the day. I wasn't expecting that just yet but the 6.0 on the meter was predictable.

Back to driving Miss Daisy and masks all round as she continues her hectic social life. I once lived on a boat and now, during this pandemic, I do wish I was back there. Mind you it was on the Aegean and the lifestyle somewhat different to now

I think that I read about a dog with dementia who got completely obsessed with food so maybe he had forgotten he had eaten.

I had a protracted period of helping a couple, at distance, up to six years ago.
The wife had dementia and her husband could not cope with the situation; particularly her asking as to how her long dead mother was she wanted to see? His coping with the day to day tasks that needed to be done was too much for him, with a lost wife.
They had been married over fifty years and a lot of the time towards the end she did not recognise him as her husband. They had no children.

But they are both at peace now.

She deserved a better outcome, but we have to make the best of what life throws at us and those we love, human or pet.

Bright and a good frost here today. The Oaks and Beech on the hill and behind our house, have turned even more autumnal.

More rest and a phone call to doctors as back does not seem to be improving, probably a waste of time as it's back ache but will see what is suggested.

Make good use of time if you are able. Keep Safe.

You are right about dementia. We looked after my father in law for 3 years until he died. It was really interesting that our dogs picked up he had dementia before we did.

That was a very kind thing you did for your hubby's dad.

My sister was far less fortunate, she knew what they were doing when they put her in a terrible home against her will.
She had bleeding bed sores when we went to see her two weeks before she died.
But she still knew her brother and sister in law.

dilatory posting from me, must do better

Chilly weather here even though it's fairly bright, I don't like being cold since I lost weight so I've got an extra layer on already

Still lots of visitors about here too, some masked some not although most locals are pretty good about wearing them

@SlimLizzy - mismatched electrical and plumbing bits are a real pest aren't they? You have my sympathy. Nice fuschia, the double blossomed ones are pretty but I prefer the single ones myself, the flowers don't tend to get so weather damaged.

@JohnEGreen - Brother Ade is very talented, hope his travel goes ahead well

@Alien Aspie - wow that's so detailed, really impressive

@dunelm - I'm glad your dad is making progress
I love your cliff face and tree, the tree looks so firmly rooted in it's space and I find your tree rings curiously satisfying in a metaphorical sense, they remind me that time passes and things grow on regardless your bamboo is satisfying as always

Popeye making a stylish model again, I'm glad he's responding well and enjoying your shared life
That's a pleasing waterfall, you have captured the movement of the water very effectively.

@Muddy Cyclist - I love the finished pool painting the water is beautifully rendered and as always your handling of the foreground is impressive
Music making at the moment is rather subject to the whims of fortune by the look of it

In my youth (mispent or otherwise ) I played french horn in a small brass ensemble (5/6 of us) and we used to play medieval 'tower music' as part of our repertoire, might be just the thing for the current circumstances
the exercise was beneficial too, lots of steps up to those towers and balconies

Glad your back is settling down a bit now, careful not to overdo it too soon.
