Long day yesterday. Was waiting for a large Amazon parcel. So was either working in front garden, or sitting by open window. Then an internet friend whose head is all over the place because of Covid and personal stuff texted for help. So that was me back indoors. Sat by the open window watching all the parcel delivery vans come into our cul-de-sac, but none of them were for me. It was like a Piccadilly Circus of parcel delivery vans of every shape ind size.
Her head was shouting at her and she couldn't think to function. So back and forth on the chat app for the next couple of hours. Then suddenly she said something that told me she did have a gut feeling about something. So I told her. It was only a whisper, but she hadn't been able to realise it. And then she realised she could feel something above her head screaming at her. It was another few hours of constant chat (at least I can make a cup of tea and go to the bathroom unseen on a chat app!).
By the time we said bye, her head wasn't shouting at her any more and she was able to think and listen to her gut feelings on things.
It was late afternoon by this time. I was very tired and my parcel hadn't arrived. It was getting dark, and I couldn't go to sleep and leave that outside until morning, even in the safe place which is still exposed because it is a large parcel.
I could barely keep awake. So, I started this painting in iPastels, but I was making an absolute pig's ear of it. Finally I put it into Procreate app to rescue it. And this is the result. Then my parcel came. The guy was friendly, he'd had a long hard day. I've seen him before. We talked briefly. He has a lovely friendly face.
Then I came in and went to bed. But I was so tired and my head was banging that I couldn't get to sleep! Even cat Popeye deserted me, saying he wasn't going to sleep next to me and went in the front room! Then when I did fall asleep, he came straight back in, and woke me up with his whiskers, and said he would sleep on my chest now because I was relaxed...
My painting...
It was inspired by what I said yesterday that I saw on the roundabout that day. Procreate helped me create that effect...
