Have managed to persuade Mrs BRS to have a Chinese dinner tonight; for me hot and sour soup followed by poached chicken in ginger broth, pak choy and Chinese greens; she gets crab and sweet corn soup, Szechuan hot chilli beef and egg fried rice plus spring rolls. Mine's better for the T2D but not as tasty as my faves ... Sigh..

Busy day again, so only a started painting again. I had decided to do a series on places I have enjoyed over the years, this is supposed to be a Tuscan Landscape, I used to love the early morning watching the sun rise from the Holliday farms we rented and the mist quickly disappearing from the valleys. It may still go that way but I'm also feeling an English Lanscape I know well in Shropshire, we shall see.

A4 watercolour will finish Wednesday.

4.3 today

spent 2 or 3 hours at Mum's today hunting for the main 'toby' outside the garden by the road. Mum told us she saw it about 40 years ago and it's near a big stone in the grass

Playing at 'Time Team' we excavated two old road drainage channels and finally found it near one of them Necessary because a plumber was coming along this afternoon to see about fixing the burst and possibly replacing the standpipe. He says he will be back tomorrow if he gets his current job finished so that's good

We've have periods here where we don't get a post delivery every day too, luckily for us though the village post box is next to the Post Office so it's emptied by a dedicated duty.

@dunelm - very handsome big bird that I like how you've managed to give the impression of the plumage with such minimal strokes

@BRSBRI - safe journey

Mr Housman, indeed. Did you know he never visited Shropshire, so I am led to believe.

The Riff Raff choirs we sing in does a performance called The Shropshire Lad, written by our MusicDirector, not only do I sing the Bass line but also take the part as Narrator Terrance Hearsay. Although I say it myself it's an entertaining piece, my favourite from it is On Wenlock Edge.

Thank you. I am torn over location may have to do two.

Messy, but isn't it fun. Turned out well I see waves, mountain ranges, forests and alien landscapes, brilliant success. My blending experiments often end up Muddy a bit like me.

Good morning everyone on a nithering start here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of some Swedish meatballs hunted down from the depths of the freezer came in at 5.2 this am.

Blinds - I have been informed that we are replacing blinds - those at the front of the house - vertical ones. Replacements are called ‘Perfect Fit’ - they fit into the window frames and also act as blackout blinds in the bedrooms - it’s happening today - that’s good as outdoors looks dreadful at the moment. Stair climbing began yesterday with the girl in the bubble - assists up seven rises before she got bored with the whole thing and went back to wobbling about pushing her building bricks trolly.

A lot of sour grapes in the news and on social media lately. I’m not looking. Interviews and know it all comments tend to come back to bite. Some people get all het up about things that effect them not and may be seen publicly exiting, stage right - oops! So, to reflect the mood of the moody, the band waggoneers and the gun jumpers, art today is possibly some sour grapes. Hope that everyone has a wonderful Wednesday - International bin day here - with the added bonus of a long awaited appearance of the garden bins. Koffy time.

Good Morning and a 5.9 for me today. High, even though last nights meal of Sweet and Sour Pork was with very little Sweet and only a spoonful of rice.

Wet and windy day here, one would say Wild. So a day indoors music, art and Mrs MC mentioned something about cutting down a 50 year old tree, my deafness is suddenly much worse.

Keep safe ignore time it's only a measure of ticks and tocks.

Your art quite made my face Pucker up, good shade of green you chose. Still some sunshine will sweeten things up. If I remember correctly about March 27th last year was the start of weeks of glorious sunshine.

5.3 this morning. The weather is awful. Definitely no dog walk this morning. Dogs don't seem to mind - they are snoozing in the conservatory.

Am enjoying relaxing with a coffee in the conservatory before classes start at 9.30pm. I love listening to the rain hammering on the conservatory roof.

Rain stopped play in the state of Breckland. Probably abandoned for the day. Old Swipey ripped off but replacement is Mk 1 due to clerical error so no swiping until Mk 2 arrives. I could use the MK 1, have strips (lots) and at least two meters, but there is enough conflicting data driving my discontent with LC so I'll wait. Good time to eat this year's hot cross bun with no testing. I did adapt a wonderful recipe, shared by the amazing @geefull, for LC sponge to act as hot cross buns. That was when I still trusted LC baking. Bitter experience - pun intended - has disabused me of that notion. Her recipe was great so by next year my trust and pleasure may have returned. Perhaps a drop of the liquid stevia Julie bought to sweeten stewed rhubarb will be the spoonful of sugar substitute that makes the medicine go down. Until now we have used liquid sucralose. Blinds eh @dunelm? The blinds here are about the only thing internally I could live with - maybe the stairs and bedroom walls should stay.

Rain on the roof is fine, enjoyable even, but someone had the bright idea of installing metal windowledges. Dark grey metal might be more stylish than white upvc but rain dripping on them is loud and intrusive.
