What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@jjraak there you go, my finger is worn away. ;) A collage over a few days.

For a small island off the coast of mainland China its diversity and history are incredible.

8pm back in my hotel pen. Shopping done, dinner on its way, packing done as time's short tomorrow as it's meetings till 6pm and a farewell drink. Wednesday after breakfast, last drive in the Toyota Tank to the airport with our Hamish aka Wan the man.

BG after a stinky tofu lunch (a delicacy allegedly) was 5.7...Did the best I could haggling at the stalls so MrsBRS should be pleased with the silk stuff I got her. Not expensive, which is a major +++ !!

Ah ha door knocked, it's dinna time...duckfest once more with as much bok choy you can shake a stick at...or two in this instance!!

Braw - I have really enjoyed your photos and trip - thanks for sharing

No duck for me for lunch @BRSBRI. Usually no lunch at all but a trial of a possible breakfast to slow the DP. I actually had something very similar way back at the start of this. I added a tblsp of 10% Greek yogurt so all very tasty. I'm highly unlikely to ever get enough protein or eat breakfast any other way. I hope the rise isn't a no no - my cut off is usually 1 but any rise disappoints me. I may need to relax a little - likelihood of that is zero.

Afternoon campers.

A slow day here, to match yesterday's couch fest.

Just off to get something from B&Q and get back to the grindstone

A good few days..
I seem to have moved out of Bond Plateau

I'm nominating the uptick in exercise
for a mention in despatches,
"above and beyond, blah, blah, blah."

Hoping my new temporary accommodation at Six Rivers Falls, lives up to its reviews

They do say there a lovely view, if you go lower down, and are careful, overlooking McGarrett Plains

Used to live there a long time ago, sure the sight of it will bring a joyful tear to my eyes

So yesterday & today's figs

6.9..sunday
6 8 today

A .1 point a day, makes that a 9 day wait.
( If only. ;):hilarious:)

But I feel I'm making headway and no longer getting blown about by hurricane Glucose.

So all good .

Oh and great montage @BRSBRI

Loving the contrast of the night & day temple/pagoda shots.

Had a lovely drive out to Swaffham (or more correctly Swarrfum as @ianpspurs pointed out).

A really lovely walk around Gooderstone Water Gardens. Although not a huge place the views are stunning as you wind your way around the paths and cross over the many bridges. Have never see the water level so high - when it crossed the weirs it was a raging torrent. Poppy really wanted to dive in.

Sad that the cafe wasn't open. A walk doesn't feel complete without a coffee after. On the way home we picked up Archie's meds from the vet.

@BRSBRI

Is that untouched up?
Seems very outstanding from background, almost like it's been HD'd

Oh, and I see the Taiwanese, built a block with Apple maps in mind. ..;):D

Glad to be of service. I d'loike Norfolk so much more than Suffolk, (much more at home) at least in as far as Narborough (from Ely) then again around the N Norfolk coast - not sure about Sunny Hunny. Some of Suffolk may be fine - Constable country? but not The Brecks for me. Glad you enjoyed freedom day.

Glad to hear you are getting more mobile by the day - heading in the right direction - winner!

I went shopping last night and have stocked up on the brazils & cashewts ...

Freedom Monday in the UK is likely to be abused by a substantial minority as the country eases itself out from a lockdown which wasn't well observed by a substantial number anyway. I'm sorry @gennepher the hordes are going to descend...the same will be true in Bath, literally ½ mile away from the front door.

I hope everyone stays safe, there's no substantial spike and even if there is, dodgy Doris aka blustering Boris will have his spinning spivs wallpaper it over - just like his flat above the shop in Downing Street...
I was up really early @BRSBRI so I avoided some crowds. But where I was expecting to find carparks open, that is to get to the beach and see the Lighthouse, and another car park which I was expecting to be open so you could do a country walk, they were still all locked and barred. And so there was no way I could do anything because I couldn’t park anywhere else.

This is North Wales answer to keep people out from England that shouldn’t be coming into Wales.

I am planning a different trip later in the week to a different destination to see if I can enjoy the countryside that way, instead of the seaside.

Good morning everyone from another noisy and blustery start here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of Thai green curry sans rice (Mrs Miggins had sticky rice) came in at 5.2 this am

Tidy up time in the garden yesterday from the fence repairs - two fence panels to break up, now sitting in the back of Mrs Miggins’ car for her to take to her time slot booked visit to the recycling centre this morning.

@geefull - thank you for your painting compliments, gratefully received and a smashing flower painting from you. I do like the way that you have used the blues in the background to enable the featured flowers to really stand out.
@gennepher - another smashing finger painting from you, amazing how you get such fine strokes and detail into them using only your finger. Great story telling. Enjoy your day out, hope the roads are not too crowded.

Art today - Hight Force - many years ago we had a rope strung across the top, in spring, over the angry water. The object was to crawl over the rope, full kit (less rifle), then hang from the centre and let go into the pool. What fun. “Can I volunteer for the safety crew?” - “No, just get in line.” Hope everyone has a marvelous Monday - I shall be shunning the crowds as usual. Time for koffy.

Thanks @dunelm for the painting compliment.
It is much easier to paint with the finger...

Very powerful water in your waterfalls...
Great painting.

Afternoon! 7½ hours ago FBG was in the mid 6s following a major indiscretion last night with a lager infused dinner. After breakfast of eggs, steamed fish it was 5.6...

36°C today, steamy and this morning very sunny after a foggy night. I meandered out of the city to the beaches and had a fish lunch chilling (or sweating out) now back in Taipei catching more of this great place before heading home Wednesday. Getting cloudier now - rain due Tuesday.

Tomorrow is now a full-on work day virtually handing over to the team who've now arrived and in the big Q...they're here for 3 months so will eventually move to a large rented house so they can roam free!
Tomorrow night all the au revoirs will be done; a bittersweet moment.

The plane taking me home is sitting resting at the moment till she takes to the air again Wednesday morning!

Dinner out and about before starting to pack...

Happy Monday all...hope you have a delish day no matter what you're doing! View attachment 48426View attachment 48427View attachment 48428
Brilliant photos @BRSBRI
I like the way the colour has worked out on the first one with the train. And I love those two peaceful beaches ...

Thank you. There's plenty opportunity on this wee island for snapping. Our tech partner is a testimony to how the island of Formosa has flourished in the shadow of big red across the Straits. They have operations too of course in the PRC, where I have also been, but their locales on the mainland ain't as picturesque...lots of grey...

Here's another - earlyish morning approximately 40 mins out the city.. not a chance you'd get this over the water so close to 3 or 4 million living in a massive conurbation. View attachment 48429
Absolutely stunning @BRSBRI
Amazing...

Note to self each post: Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth and keep the door of my lips. Who stole the mild weather I was promised? Swipey - on last legs and right arm which both = dodgy - issued a 5.6. Most likely culprit is hay fever from Suffolkness. Talking of which, surely it is Swarrfum @Krystyna23040 - learned Norfick teaching there and a decade of playing cricket with 2 team mates with very broad accents. Great art @gennepher - enjoy your freedom; @dunelm and @geefull - forum lej ma'am. @BRSBRI great photos and we will miss Hamish. If Bath will be teeming with non locals Cambridge is always full of Japanese and Chinese outside of term time, for language schools. Very curious they are too. They literally stand next to you whilst batting on Parker's Piece - suddenly appear from nowhere. The weirdest dismissal known to mankind - bowled while fending off several photographers. Not in the laws of the game anywhere else. Top weight loss tip: overnight drop that kg+ which has been driving you mad - new batteries in scales.:arghh: Hey presto, 74 kgs again - about right for 6ft:)
Thanks @ianpspurs
:)

0.1 rise so not rejected. Next experiment will be 2 scoops with 400 mls coffee for a version of nutribulletproof coffee first thing:angelic:. Ideally after long slow cardio once gym is no longer box central. Or maybe steps now it is lighter, warmer mornings. I tried the mct, butter, heavy cream version - made me heave but I was a brave little boy. TMI?
