What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

So the Missus just rolled her eyes. I leave for Heathrow from Bath onTuesday. Train to Paddington, Heathrow Express. Quickest way.

Stay the night at T2. Wednesday up in the dead of night to catch the 0615 to Paris and then from there onto the big job to San Francisco. Gets in at 130pm. Get a rental car and down the 101 into the Valley. Collapse into my apartment not far from the spaceship and work Wed night, Thurs, Fri. Saturday up into the big City for a sniff. Sunday - Thursday full on work. Week Thursday night, leave San Jose on a bizjet straight to Farnborough arriving Friday morning. Days off Saturday through to Tuesday, then back working at home till June

I used to love this excitement, but now ...not so much. The thing with constant business travel - you complain bitterly when you do it and complain even more when you don't

Dinner tonight is apparently rolled roast beef with truffled butter, asparagus and cauliflower cheese. Starter is smoked salmon and dessert thankfully is an empty plate.

Thank you @gennepher and pleased to read that you have not bowed to the tempting morsels from baker, chocolatier and those secret govt laboratories that make creme eggs.
Cream eggs ...the devil's invention. Last year, I had my tongue all the way into the chocolate to get the white concoction. What on earth was I thinking?

Gratuitous pic of 'Marley'

Being a black cat, he isn't as easy to get that IG pic quality

Probably the best shot I've taken of him, showing facial expressions.

Oh, and a houseful of places to sit/sleep,
He of course chose Lauren's favourite coat, she unwisely Lay down in striking reach of the fur ball... Cats, huh, what they like

That is a brill picture. Cats are mysterious creatures...

Hope she enjoys it - and, of course, the sound it makes.

@gennepher I took out all the nice graphics and flow charts I did. So here's the chit chat without pretty picchures...
Hope it's of interest.

Here's the garden without a lawn...the tidying up I've been instructed to do in a howling cold wind calls for a nice calvados I think plus a foil blanket to look chic ;) View attachment 48593View attachment 48595

That's a really nice open space. I've seen a property in Bath (A dental surgery at the time, from memory.) that had an old well a feature you could walk over in an extension.
My parents old property years ago, the builder came out a front lobby door & literally fell through a disused well opening.

There are a few mines & tunnels in & around the area too.

You ain't covering up anything in the garden are you..? o_O;)

Ha, remember going down the 101 to Milpitas and Palo Alto.

@jaylee Strangely, the mother in law hasn't been seen in a while ... Only joking, but it might be described as a heart felt wish lol.
Last heard saying to Lauren (MrsBRS) "Why on earth did you marry him"...
I didn't hear the answer, thankfully!

Lovely Brize - I have spent many an hour, day even, siting by the runway waiting to get into big birds to fly to destinations exotic.
Did a couple of gigs there 20? 22? years back.

In the actual base.. There was some sort of social club area on the site. we couldn't park near the building, but we could unload the gear & move vehicle to a designated area..

Good fun, living the "Spinal Tap" dream..

Wanna navigate? I once got lost and ended up somehow over the Dumbarton Bridge in Fremont...my rental Chevvy then broke down.
Don't mention it, I got lost on the east side of Bay when I went North birding on a couple of spare days. Finished up in a rather worrying ethnic area. Found my way out and across a bridge that took me out on the route North of the Golden Gate.
They only charged on the bridges in one direction.

FBG 4.3 @ 3am (when I got up for loo) & 5.9 @ 10am when I got up for the day

My car got serviced & new brakes today + tyre to the tune of £350 (ouch!)
New glasses & hairdo booked for next week (will probably not cost much less) ... so I hope I get a job soon - didn't get last job - it was only minimum wage but a jobs a job - wasn't too disappointed as I would probably only have done it until something better came along - that's what happened last time I was made redundant, I applied and went for a few job interviews and was glad with the last job that I got as it was the best job and salary out of the lot I had applied for so worth waiting for, until I got made redundant there ... I keep telling myself the same thing will happen again this time - fingers crossed. Btw Manager and assistant that interviewed me were only in 30s and 20s so maybe they thought I wouldn't fit in there & when I walked past their office last week young girl who worked there was outside smoking a fag (and she looked pregnant) ... so maybe I wouldn't have fitted in there ... Anyhow I have another interview for next week - I think it may be challenging as they have sent me the STAR interview guidelines along with interview details AND I have lost my certificates for my qualifications which they have requested (eh, they are well lost after 35 years and 2 house moves)... upwards and onwards as they say ...

And I made some h/m lc lasagnes today for freezer using cheese squares instead of pasta sheets - I have made them before and they are lovely as long as you are a cheese fan

Oakland...never go to Oakland. I was speaking at Berkeley Uni and took a wrong turning...went a little over a stop line and a dude battered the car roof with his fists... shouting "go back to your own @#£&@# country... " I did the next day

It'll work out, just wait and see...
We just hired someone in their early 50s for an admin role after she was made redundant in the Covid aftermath.
Guess what? She is the bestest of the best.
There's more coming through too, btw.

You're far better than any o that...
