Coleslaw.

Hi can I eat coleslaw?
Do you mean a bought tub of coleslaw or making coleslaw?
I made a lovely coleslaw yesterday, very few carbs, didn't affect my numbers.
A bought tub though might have lots of carbs, check the label to find out.
Does it have to b low fat?
Why would it have to be low fat? Are you restricting the fats in your diet as well as the carbs?
Fats do not raise blood glucose.

If you’re going for a bought one, I would find the lowest carb one, and test to see if it affects your levels

I eat it quite a lot and never had problem with blood sugars. Even better, cheese coleslaw, so delicious.

Yes am doing that now. Walked over to our shop to get some eggs and walked the long way back. Let’s see what happens at around half 8. X

No but I always used to to lose weight. Seems so strange to eat full fat. X

Thank you. X

I find I eat a lot of coleslaw with most meals now and they don’t seem to affect my bloods. I also get normal coleslaw, never low fat

I tell you what I do miss and doubt I’ll be having ever again - potato salad
I don’t miss that - not keen but……I miss crisps sooooo much. I don’t think the alternatives will do it for me. If coleslaw is all good then dipping cucumber sticks in it of an evening will b good enough for me. Xx.

Yeah that’s hard. I like crisps too…I watched with an open mouth yesterday as husband and son ate a whole tub of Pringles together. I wasn’t hating on them…no no no not me

I feel your pain sister lol. X

Hi all. 2 hrs after 7.4. I’m happy with that. I also had (I was scared to tell you all) just under a quarter of a crustless quiche with salad (and coleslaw). I went for a brisk walk 20 mins - and it was so worth it. Lowest I have been 2 hrs after dinner - obviously I need to move and not just watch TV. X. Thanks for all your help on the coleslaw question. X

Yep, coleslaw or egg mayo seem to be good.
I hate when the wife buys low fat mayo though

Depends wholly on what's in it... I naively got some from the local supermarket and as it turned out there was a lot of various sugars in there for some reason. But if you can find a good one, or make your own with proper full fat mayo, you should be a-okay. :)
