What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning from Forest Heath. No escape from the sound of Uncle Sam's military might early doors here but I'm not sitting in the cold to watch The Ashes and JKP would be "vaguely annoyed" if I watched in bed. 5.8 from Swipey before DawnP''s ravages. Far too high but many would probably take that. I've no way of knowing how good or bad that is given the ongoing internal and external Omnishambles. Feelings are notoriously unscientific but this all feels most sub-optimal. Lat flow indicates I have a cold but who knows these days? @gennepher best wishes for your cunning plan. So cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a fox? Two granddaughters today as well as gym and school pickup so almost like three Delta/Omicron parties. Take care - Whitty care not Bertie Booster care. Two briefings for the price of one - world leading unprecedented levels of bull manure vs measured, knowledgeable sense. Too much choice?

Good morning everyone, the bins are out and it looks like it’s going to be a wonderful day here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of chicken topped with mozzarella and bacon came in at 5.0 this am.

Shopping yesterday - I mistook Aldi for Lidel. Never mind, the car knew where to go.
Art bit - a tree of course. Hope that everyone has a wonderful day. Must be time for a koffy.

A dull day here and grumpy looking bin men

Great inkwork tree @dunelm

Bad internet connection here.

A second Xmas card. But I have been doing other important necessary stuff today.
I need to get my Christmas card skates on if I stand any chance of people getting anything this year. A deer on the card wasn't easy to do...I need something easier...

Creative.
A third Christmas card. His lordship had to appear in at least one.

Yesterday one of the things I managed to do was put up the two black shower curtains my friend and I bought. They were both needed outside the bathroom window. But it had to be higher up. Two large cup hooks and a bamboo cane for the black shower curtain (which the packaging said could double as as a black out curtain). I cannot do this indoors because of the glass tiles in the bathroom, and drawing that black shower curtain back open, would still leave the bathroom in semi darkness.

This idea worked last night, so I was able go to the bathroom in the evening and night without getting a visual migraine attack from the flashing lights.

The same could be done for outside my bedroom window, but where the cup hooks and bamboo cane needs to go is much higher up and needs a step ladder with quite a few steps. So, that is a no no. But if Plan B doesn't work, then I will have to order some more black shower curtains online and get a handy handyman. So, that will be the solution for next Christmas. But I still object to my right to enjoy that night sky from my bedroom window which is one of the reasons I moved to this high up location.

Time for a cooked breakfast, and my day to start in earnest, which involves painting screening on some material and soft blue tarpaulin...and that is all the details I am saying on that. But it is something that will stay up all year, not just for Christmas, and it will give me absolute privacy from his leering over my wall when I am in the back garden (I already have some parasols I put to the side of me where I put my seating to catch the sun). If a storm, and we get plenty of wind up here, rips it to shreds, then hey I have enough to replace this several times this year. I look forward to that with the potential for changes of subjects.. I have a friend L who is in theatre design, and when we were younger I used to help her paint stage scenery, so I have plenty of practice in that...

So fun times ahead...
You go ahead and enjoy your day...

The constantly changing rules for travel on both sides of the channel are be coming very wearing. But so far we appear to be ok to go, and more importantly to return.
Whether we actually want to go to UK is a different matter. Neither of us are sure about that.

Hugs @SlimLizzy for this dilemma

Good morning everyone below a pink tinged sky here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of moules-frites yesterday lunch time and a can’t be bothered dinner came in at 4.7 this am

Out on the moors yesterday for lunch - The Lion on top of Blakey Ridge if you want to look it up. They had mussels on the menu as a starter, it was all that I could eat - phew! Shopping today and then lunch with daughter and the girl in the bubble, who is already practicing her ‘I’m 2” routines. My bottle of Elijah Craig bourbon arrived safe and sound so that’s youngest son and me all sorted. A neighbour took in the parcel so I told them it was a 10ft inflatable Santa with an illuminated hat to brighten up the street and did they want to give me a hand putting it up? No sense of humour some people. We are going to need a couple more dining room chairs for Christmas lunch - we are having ours on Christmas Eve as we are over at our daughters on Christmas Day afternoon for a buffet feast - burp!

Some over large trees today while I ponder on things festive. Have a wonderful day if you can, I think that it’s Friday here so only 5 more working days at being retired until the big day. Best make koffy.

Lunch sounds brilliant @dunelm

Loads of food over Christmas...how are you going to survive...

There you are...I put the inflatable all singing, all dancing Santa up for you...
;)

Overlarge trees are amazing. Love the ink painting.

A foggy start to Friday in Forest Heath which evokes strong and happy childhood memories. My 5.7 (Swipey stylee here though) seems to be trending over on the semi-skimmed thread. Excuse me if I'm not enthusiastic to be at that level. I enjoyed the gym but I'm frustrated by my limitations and wondering what a surgeon may be able to do to make me a nicer, kinder little boy. Big grin on my face due to the start of the O Antiphons (O Sapientia) - N Salopians must have got the email:woot::woot:. In Berkshire some guy is loading a weapon to shoot the piano players. Spoiler alert, wrong target Bud. @dunelm thanks for the trees and great meal choice plus fbg. @gennepher hope you enjoy(ed) breakfast, thanks for the creative. Wonderfully persistent in solving problems but my heart goes out to you for ever needing that much effort. @SlimLizzy I feel for you. Our DIL's parents are in the same position. School pickup, certainly primary, seems to be the super spreader event they can't cancel but my grandson could fully explain what his Christingle symbolised so Granddad was a happy man. Whitty style care everyone and maybe the useless Booster may soon be a nightmare of the past:D:D:D The useful one may become a twice yearly event for a while.

Thanks @ianpspurs
Breakfast was good.
But I discovered a black cat (not mine) on my bungalow roof when I went outside to work...
Is that Good Luck?
It's a great vantage point...
Enjoy today...

5.0 this morning. Finished writing Christmas cards yesterday and did more admin and tidying up.

Today need to start the class lesson plans so that I can email them out to class members for their home practice over the Christmas vacation. Then I have to start updating all the 1.1 client's individual lesson plans so that they are up to date with all their new exercises. Before I start the lesson plans I must search the internet for a picture of someone doing the exercises. Apparently I can 'borrow' the image as long as I am using them for educational purposes.

Hopefully all will be done by early next week.

We have cancelled trip to UK and now I am getting flack from other members of the family.
Didn't expect that, decided not to engage in further discussion. Leaving my final statement as "We no longer meet the requirements to travel to UK, as now it is essential travel only"

Your avatar needs to be the Duracel Bunny. Stunning fbgs and such care and attention to your "clients" - I strong;y suspect you see them as friends. I implore you to take time out for yourself but I'm a very simple soul. My old village is still looking all over for their lost idiot. Keep quiet, they don't have much fun these days.

More hugs for you @SlimLizzy
It is so unfair their attitude.
They are not the ones who have to take the chance on a trip with all it entails to another country, and then all what it entails to make the return trip in these uncertain times.

It is a lot of stress on both of you. You have already done all this in the campervan, which turned out a far lengthier trip than you imagined. You don't need that kind of stress again.

I know it is pretty near impossible, but try and chill out x

I agree with @gennepher that members of your family are being unfair.

You have to follow the rules and they really should understand that.
