What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone from a somewhat damp and overcast beginning to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
Farmers market - blustery weather so all set up indoors. A few choice titbits and some splendid rusk free sausages, now confined to the freezer to eke out over the coming weeks until the next market. A couple things for sister in law and job’s a good ‘un. Splendid performances from France and Ireland yesterday and I do hope that Italy make England work hard today - I do want England to win but at the same time for Italy to do well.
Art - completed the one that I had started two days ago, well, as much as I want to. Hope you all have a pleasant day of it. I shall now pour my koffy.

Thank you for sharing your art. The Farmers Market sounds very useful for you and SIL so I'm delighted for you. I'm with you on the France Ireland game and hope for a competitive game in Rome later. Despite the alleged penny pinching of the owner I'm hoping for the Bengals to win the Superbowl but I won't stay up to watch this year. Gym tomorrow - a significant piece of The Jigsaw.

Thank you @ianpspurs. It’s a decent market but as you pointed out, some things are pretty high on price point at these events. Still, it supports local businesses, apart from the curry guys who come from Leeds. Let’s hope that the England team don’t mess up and good luck to the Bengals.

Now you take care @Krystyna23040
Have a leisurely lunch or coffee if you can.
I stayed in the hall as I felt too tired to go to the pub across the road. I don't think that it is physical tiredness but is more mental tiredness. Maybe because of all that has gone on since Christmas.

I had a protein powder lunch and I also had a little Thermos flask with my Nespresso coffee - which was lovely.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who suffer the vagaries of diabetes.
A 5.9 this morning.
Plans are afoot for today here in Tilehurst Towers, but first koffy, the tea starter for 10 is history. Did eye say I need koffy. This written English language is a nightmare, one word, one spelling wood make life much easier four the koffy deprived.
Stay safe all.
Hand foot note @gennepher such a lovely tale of J

I thought such opportunities were the whole point of taking back control from pettifogging Brussels:angelic:. Must be a job for the newly demoted JRM. Brexit Opportunities my Jim Royle. Well, apart from a superb new lorry park covering most of Kent.:D

I get you with the mental tiredness @Krystyna23040
Glad your protein powder lunch was enjoyable x

Oh good, a new label for under 30's - the “packhorse generation” The Culture War intensifies. Should UK citizens evacuate UK for their own safety? Big Dog is amassing troops on the borders of proper adulthood and diplomacy ain't working. Perfect Instagram Op - all expenses paid by us - for Bizzy Lizzie.

Greetings from Forest Heath. In the Temporal year it is "just" Sunday or Superbowl Sunday later. In the Liturgical year it is Septuagesima Sunday which starts a season either lasting 70 days or ending on Shrove Tuesday - Shrovetide. I like the idea of this dovetailing neatly with lambing season and being an important part of The Real England. @gennepher amazing story and creative which ties in, at least in my head, with yesterday. J sounds like a truly special man which is entirely fitting for you as a truly special lady. What other partner would you have chosen? So yesterday. Grandson did his km+ swim then 2 hrs cricket coaching. There was a group of children of mixed gender and ability in the fabulous new sports hall recently opened as part of a major facility. Matt Hancock played a significant part in ensuring this happened so thanks are due there. The lead coaches were not the image of athleticism but their skill, joy in passing on their knowledge and love of the game stood out. As with J, I am certain one can find God's loving presence in so many people and places other than formal settings. Posh chicken for Sunday lunch with MIL today. I need at least some gravy - normies - so not "pure", sorry Pearl Clutchers. I think I have now found all the pieces of The Jigsaw - just need to assemble them now. That should be fun as I've never made a jigsaw or model in my life.

A win for the gold mining for the missing parts.

I hope, assembled it transports you in the style, perhaps not accustomed to, but more accepting of.

We each journey at our own pace & in our own way.

We are but mere fellow passengers on the voyage, but in here, I think/hope a touch more then that.

Travel well, as you untangle the vagaries of T2D.

Creative today...in Procreate.

But first, a story. A true story.

J and I would go round gardens of stately homes. Sometimes there would be a hermitage carved in sandstone or something. J would sit on the stone bench, both hands round his twisty long walking stick, head bowed a little, and meditate.

Before long some children would wander in and look wide eyed at this white bearded apparition with the green velvet brimmed hat hiding his face. The children would rush out, and come back in dragging a grown-up.

The grown-ups would say 'shh' to the children, who wanted to ask questions.

Meanwhile J was still deep in meditation. But then one bold child would go up and touch J on the knee. J's head would slowly rise. 'Are you the hermit who lives in this cave,' the child would ask. (But if it was December, J would get asked if he was Father Christmas, to which he would reply 'Yes'.)

J would say he was the resident hermit in this cave. And before long there there was a group of children seated in front of him. The children would ask questions, and J would answer. And then he would go on to tell them stories. The grown-ups listened intently as well.

After a long time had passed, the grown-ups would say it was time the children went home. They would go up and shake J's hand.

And just J and I were left in the hermit's cave. Then we went home.

I often wondered what the Stately home people thought when their visitors came back, asking where the resident hermit was today...

I give you the essence of J....

A delightful tale.

Gives the impression of a gentleman with a calming nature, and full of patience .

Cheers for sharing :)

Not sleeping properly tonight so Fbg is to pot anyway...
I am doing the half hour sleep at a time, then waking up...my body saying 'Hey here are fireworks going off in your your toes' tonight....my fibromyalgia kicking off.
Finally tried a Procreate painting, but stopped halfway through...will return to it another day.
In the meantime I've always wanted to try Vectors. So here is a simple Creative using Vectors. Superimposed over a photo of the Believe sign on my glass bedroom door.
So, here you are...
Good morning/night/whatever it is...

It’s Hector the vector down below with the kelp. Smashing. Hope your fibromyalgia calms down today.

Good morning everyone from a dark and quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north
Call mid morning from daughter, “would you like to go for breakfast? We are on our way to pick you up.” Lovely. Girl in the bubble, “butter and toast please lady.” I get smashed avocado with chilli and a couple of poached eggs. Everyone else with a breakfast. Mrs Miggins is out all day today - girls stuff, hush! Consult diary - nothing. Well there may well be and I forgot to enter any details so will go with nothing. England win, pity about not getting to 40 but 33-0 does not really describe the work put in by Italy - just release the ball and stop awarding yourselves penalties. Bengals in Super Bowl - nearly, very nearly (just checked score to be seen as informed but don’t ask questions).
Art - a little doodle to put a smile on someone’s face. Have a great day if you can, well, make it so. Best make koffy before I wake Mrs Miggins at the allotted time.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.
A 4.7 this morning, dosage established, but just to be on the safe side of this mornings me and me’s will take stuff if required. Ah the joys ( other girly names available) of insulin.

4th jab this morning then maybe subject to temperature table screwing and glueing also a little radiator venting, tea drinking, koffy drinking and generally trying to win a medal for being grumpy, gold is the aim. Winter Olympics pah.
Stay safe all.
Lastly @gennepher and @dunelm two nice pieces of artwork.

Greetings everyone. Tricky job pitching a post for Valentines Day without being insensitive. We aren't all either "loved up" or blessed with the physical presence of our soulmates so I apologise if I appear insensitive for even reminding anyone. Here is a sonnet for Valentines day which isn't Clinton Cards /Moonpig. @jjraak thanks for the good wishes on my "journey." @gennepher hug for the fibromyalgia. I know Muddy Cyclist suffers as well. Your creative is wonderful and his art, music and poetry are such a gift. Does make me wonder if there is any connection. @dunelm thank you for the splendidly colourful art and enjoy your clear diary day. I'm off to the gym this morning - background of the jigsaw IMHO - and later there will be Wagyu steak in our Valentines Day meal. Interestingly, Cyril and Methodius, Missionaries to the Slavs, 869 and 885, seem to have been omitted from the BCP but made it to the Woke Feb 14th Morning Worship. I watched a fantastic, for me, Carol King documentary? last night with a concert of hers and a James Taylor one still safely banked. Stay safe, says the man who will go to the gym but has to be dragged into shops and has a heart rate way higher than any exercise if eating out is even discussed. JKP didn't remember this - how many of y'all do?

5.3 this morning. Very early dog walk as our lounge is being decorated today.

I feel much less tired as I had a very relaxing day yesterday.. Mr K is happy because England won their Rugby game.

BG this morning was 5.9 a 5.30am Coffee
Breakfast@ 7.10 am it was 6.4 100gms Greek yogurt and berries 60gms Coffee
Tested 2 hrs later @ 9.10am BG was 4.8

My BG levels have been dropping steadily over last week but we have done some serious walking when we went away for a few days both in York and Chester then yesterday at home we did 3088steps walking around were we live to keep my joints from seizing up.
And I’ve found finally substitutes for Potatoes we now use turnip, parsnip and looking for celeriac we prep them then cut some into small 1inch cubes to roast with olive oil in oven and some we make into chips also done in same way they didn’t even spike blood glucose 1unit. I cut all vegetables up and bag them up and put what we aren’t using in freezer for when we need them, they can all be cooked from frozen on 200deg in a fan electric oven 20 to 25 mins from frozen.
I’m ecstatic to find a substitute for potato they send my BG sky high, now I don’t feel I’m missing out on vegetables that allow me to eat without raising my blood glucose readings. I’ve been type2 diabetic for 22years but in last two years my blood glucose levels have been rising whist still eating same foods, I just can’t have more than a small amount of carbs anymore they usually come from what foods I’m eating. K
