What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Greetings from Forest Heath one and all. @dunelm thanks for the art, congratulations on the 5 miles and tracking down a plumber - oops. Enjoy your time with TGIB and I appreciated the subtle Harry Webb reference. @gennepher thank you for sharing your creative and I hope the bin stays upright until emptied. @Krystyna23040 great fbg, good news on the progress of the decorating and the wisdom of that insulated roof. Another trip to the gym this morning for me then JKP wants to spend some Lidl vouchers she has for using a certain website for home insurance. 22 yards used to be a chain @alf_Josiah.

Interesting little link, Ian.

Knew of chains, but unaware of the tally marks.

Give me 10 chains and I can measure the length of a furrow and then rest my oxen.

Morning all.

A late-ish supper/dinner..(what is the accepted time definition of that evening family meal ? )

As some may know I've been down in the dumps of late.:sorry:

So apologies for bringing a gloomier aspect to my posts recently. , but thanks to a few lovely PM's..(most grateful guys, meant a lot )

I've had some good advice offered & one or two obvious home truths dragged into the light.

All ultimately sensible, once one stops wallowing long enough to see.

Tuff love..maybe
But needed...
And given with an open heart
<Respect>

It's always been the forums strength.
The offers of help when someone's struggling.

And it's an ethic I try my best to emulate, and to pass on that gift to the next person

Does remind one, that inherently the majority of people in society are caring & decent ..sadly, as we
all know, its the minority that grab the attention more

With all that said
I've been invigorated by the help & will be renewing my focus on the importance of caring for myself AND others

And, weirdly enough, I seem to have found my half full glass, which I thought I'd lost ...
What a happy coincidence ;)

Happy trails, folks

Good Morning Everyone
BG @ 3.30am was 6.7 before Coffee
After high carb evening meal at our sons but I’m not complaining I can’t keep shoving type2 diabetes what’s allowed and what’s not on everyone. I will deal with any highs myself, but considering what we eat and followed with apple pie and custard I don’t think 6.7 is bad I’ve been higher on healthy food. After my yogurt and berries breakfast @7.35am I retested 15 minutes short of the 2hours and BG was still 6.7. K

Good to know about the CBD Balm.

And those walks sound glorious.

Never got to do much country walking but always enjoyed the walks in What countryside we do have in and around our London area.

Think box hill, etc further afield and Richmond to the west of us .

Can hear how much you miss them
Thank you jjraak they where fabulous days out and your so right I do miss them .K

Excellent bouncebackability

A win for experimenting and finding what works .
The joy of the early time after DX,. Checking out the weird & wonderful selection I wasn't aware of or had ignored my whole life

Celeriac, worked here too

Bit of a faff to cut & prep.
Liking the cut and freeze technique

Oddly that hadn't occurred to me.

I'm always wary of how to cook from frozen.

And the idea of defrosting before cooking for me ends up:
A. A mushy mess once cooked.
B. A delightful medley of cooked/uncooked

as some melts in the mouth, while other bits thaw out...lol.

Shall try your method & report back :).

To cook from frozen put the roasting tin in oven to heat the oil then add the celeriac chips they will be less soft and crisp up like roasted potatoes. Hope you enjoy try parsnips cut into chunks or chips odd shapes but what the heck they taste lovely. K

Sorry I didn’t put temperature and cooking time we a electric fan oven in that it’s 200deg for 20/25mins just check them depending on how you like them I like more well done but mostly go off colour. I was in a bit of an hurry had a eye test this morning just to add to list of health problems I have a small cyst like a style but inside my lower eye lid. After extensive eye tests this morning and now blurred vision after eye drops I’ve been told to watch for 4 symptoms and if I get any one of them I need to get to AandE has I could go blind if I don’t act quickly, detatched retina is what they say can happen and it happens very quickly. Oh well add it to Osteoarthritis’s in spine and knees swollen feet and ankles now wonky eye problems what else do I have to look forward too in old age. It’s Wonderful growing old Isn’t It. K

Today was one of those days when lots of things don't go quite the way you want them to.
I have a problem with synching my google calendar with my outlook. I have a super company that looks after my computer but they couldn't fix it. Apparently the fix could possible cause other problems that were worse. So I opted to only use the Google calendar in future.

Then my local chemist assured me they had the nose testing LFTs. I walked there to pick them up only to find they were the nose and throat ones.

Then DPD pinged me a photo of my parcel they had just delivered. But it was not my house. Luckily I sort of recognised the house as it has a special enclosure for the bins in the front of the house. I knew it was in one of three roads we dog walk down but couldn't remember which one. I walked along all three roads. It was at the end the third road I walked down. The resident had no idea it had been put behind their bins in their little bin enclosure.

On the plus side I did get my parcel, our lounge is finished and looks lovely. We had a lovely walk with the dogs and my sister and her dogs. It was really wild weather.

Also I have nearly done 14K steps. Which I am really pleased with. Now I shall relax in our newly decorated lounge.

Blooming heck!
What a day!
Definitely time to relax in your newly decorated lounge @Krystyna23040

My internet has not been working properly at all today and things have not been syncing between devices when normally they would. It has caused me a lot of problems today.
Have a good evening.

@gennepher it is so annoying when things don't sync between devices and so time consuming. Hope you get it sorted.

Not stating as fact, from what I have read on web etc, the nose only seem inaccurate.

Returning many negatives, that when people took nose AND throat sample OR got PCR became positives (as per symptoms make the suspect neg was wrong.. so retook or booked PCR).

Now the conspiracy side of my brain :bag:

Says when we pay next month ? For LFT or PCR, cost will point many to the cheaper LFT ...if they can even get them .

Ergo..no one but those rushed to hospital will ever test as positive..

Am I right...who knows. :watching:
Due diligence dear reader, due diligence .

I'd certainly suggest a Google of nose v nose and throat swabbing
And if you can get them, rush to chemists before they are gone :)
