That is one heck of a long frustrating day @jjraakHi all
Ok but looong day .
Poor night's sleep so pointless doing fbg
Off to hospital 930 am
Arrive plenty of time
Register and ask if I need x-ray because I think I do
No.
You sure, want to check..?
Not on your notes, says grumpy nurse
Ok..cheers
30 mins past appointment get called to move from waiting room A. To waiting room B.
(Why do that ...it was packed)
Wait another while to get called out, and told i DO need x-ray
30 minutes wait, then it's the dance of they x-ray machine, as they remotely manouvere it all over the shop to snap all my broken bits.
Nurses mentions it's an unusual leg break .
I say I've been told but haven't seen x-rays yet
oh my days, she calls me to look .xxxx
Metal rod, 2 screw's either end ..and 3 breaks
Top middle & bottom
Back to doc to wait another hour.
Last to get called in again
Good news is recent pain doesn't alarm him
Good physical once over of all knees mobility,, up down SIDE TO SIDEetc
Could be number of things, so they'll keep a close eye on it ....phew
Bad news is middle break doesn't look to be healing well
Might be poor x-ray, CT scan scheduled to check
Bloods ordered to check it's not an infection
So off to get bloods done . Another 30 mins there & waiting
Finish, call Uber
12 minutes away .
Then drives past me when he gets to hospital.
Did come back, tho.
All in.. out at 930 1040 appt
Home by 415....but all done .until next time
Stay safe
Enjoy the jubilee
And hugs those close.
Trust me, do it today![]()
Yes it is scary @Krystyna23040@gennepher it was quite scary that it stayed that high for so long but a huge relief that it did eventually drop back down.
Yes @gennepher my scone with jam and clotted cream was definitely naughty but nice. It reminded me of holidays in Devon and Cornwall. You did very well not to go into the cream cake shop.Yes it is scary @Krystyna23040
As I said my little fatal flaw is a fresh cream cake, or a home made Victoria buttercream sponge cake (the last one is the comfort factor to me from my childhood when my grandmother looked after me).
But the last time I went to the cream cake shop, I carried on walking past and didn't go in.
Remember the adverts in the 1950's in women's magazines anyone?
With a wasp waisted housewife in a pinny, and the words "Naughty but nice", I think it was.
Thank you @gennepherI checked on the council site because we are due Black bin rubbish collection on Thursday and so I wondered if it might be cancelled because of this Jubilee stuff. But it said Black bin collection as normal for Thursday @dunelm
But I too will be checking the neighbours first (I was once responsible for putting the wrong bin out, and the neighbours followed what I did...)
New car sounds amazing!
Arty bit great in colour (and I like just black and white too). I think this works well in both colour and black and white.
Have a good day.
A long day of hopping about with one NHS hand not knowing what’s in the other NHS hand but it’s done - poor grumpy nurse - always smile. Hope your CT scan comes quickly.Hi all

My goodness, a new version of a Hitchcock film called ‘The Kids’. Quick, get Daphne du Maurer to write a book and contact Jessica Tandy. Hope your day, today is more peaceful, Silk poppy kaleidoscope- smashing colours.Fbg 6.7
Thursday
Midnight was waiting for me at the end of the swing (on my pile of old clothes) nearest the Study door yesterday morning. He is miaowing at me from the swing, and I can at least now get out of the door without being bowled over by a bouncy football. But I accidentally trod on his tail this morning, it is impossible to walk with him twining round my legs. I was expecting shredded legs, and so I said "I'm sorry I'm sorry" repeatedly, but Midnight just shrugged as though to say accidents happen, I forgive you. Blimey!
I came in after sorting the cat diner. The bird feeders and stuff were dealt with the night before. Settled back in bed with a cuppa tea, and a mug of coffee and cream.
Little Miss (teenage sparrow), came sweeping in, and sat on the electric cable between the bungalow and the garage, surveying her domain. This is a new place for her to sit. I got to drink my hot tea, and my coffee and cream, when in came Mr Blackbird, who hadn't noticed Little Miss above him, and was foraging around on the tiny bird table. Little Miss jumps down from the wire on to a branch next to Mrs Blackbird and has words with him. Mr Blackbird appears to give a big sigh and says "Okay I'll go quietly, just don't chase me". But Little Miss gives chase anyway to make her point.
A moment or so later Little Miss returns, checks on all the bird feeders, and flies away. She returns a moment later with Mrs Bluetit to the Bluetit feeder.
Meanwhile Midnight is overseeing the cat diner. One of the gingers has returned (all four had also gone missing the day Shadow went missing, and I had no idea what had happened there, but was fearing something bad for all of them). And he was disheveled. This was the amber eyed ginger. I have named him Merlin from yesterday morning.
A short while later, yesterday, a second ginger appeared after also being missing since the same Monday as Shadow. His fur coat was dirty and disheveled as well. His markings are identical to the newly renamed Merlin, but he has green eyes. I shall call these two The Merlins from now on.
Calico was the next customer of the day.
Creative today is a kaleidoscope in Laboscope, using the silk poppies in my garden, with Shadow and Midnight as silhouettes.
Yesterday I met my friend in England, and it was a nightmare with hoardes of screaming manic wild unsupervised children, and so I didn't enjoy myself, and neither did my friend, so we left early. The parents were too busy looking at their phones...
My friend had a word, about these raving lunatics of children, with a Bette Davis looking person who had a sweet pleasant smile on her face, but once this Bette Davis like person started talking about the children running around screaming at the tops of their voices, her face and particularly her eyes, betrayed what she really thought of these uncontrolled little beasts. Oh boy. At that moment I was imagining a black and white film script striking terror into these uncontrolled screeching children, and their strident screams were not of fun, but now of fear...
Enjoy a nice hot cuppa...

Our recycle has been collected @dunelmGood morning everyone from under a splendidly blue sky here in the dark and dangerous north
Bin day today - well, potentially. They are all out there, eagerly awaiting the parade of the bin lorry and associated orange outriders but it’s a bank holiday and we do live up a bank. Still, no news is good news so steady as you go. Don’t panic Captain Mainwaring. Car collected yesterday. It gave out a reading of 68 mpg for the 45 mile journey home. Mind you, it is a robot and has yet to spot all squares containing traffic lights or speed boats to prove it’s honesty. Youngest son arriving some time today complete with wife, ninky nonks and Little Miss Pamplemouse. All the anticipated fun needed.
Art bit, b&w - this is Mount Longdon. Taken from a photo. Decide to have the very best day that you can and don’t forget to hang up your bun tin, a 12 cup one usually works well. Must check out my koffy supplies.

Thanks @ianpspursGreetings everyone and for those in the UK enjoy Platty Jubes. My attitude to Queen Elizabeth II has mellowed considerably recently. I have always been quite strongly anti-monarchy but lately I’ve really softened. The Queen is pleasant enough and one does realise that a President Thatcher or Blair would have seriously split the country. President Johnson would be a disaster of epic proportions as is blindingly obvious to even the most myopic apologist. No bunting or red white and blue but I will change my habits and join the get together in this Close. I wanted nothing to do with previous Jubes. It will be interesting to see how many American servicemen/women and families take part and a chance for me to meet people I’ve never even seen if nothing else. Family barbeque planned here for Saturday - six noisy grandchildren. No mow May is over but Ian has somehow lost the activation key for his lawnmower - new one in the post. Epic struggle yesterday @jjraak so huge sympathy and the closing sentiment is so true. @gennepher Scary Mary sounds alarming and so sad that the noise spoiled your day. Great story and thanks for the kaleidoscope. @Krystyna23040 wonderful to read how much you enjoyed that break and a perfect ending. Our new washing machine is installed, wi fi and all (an app allows JKP to customise programmes) - also plays a splendid chune to say I'm done peeps. Congratulations to the Ukranian football team - light in a very dark place. Enjoy your PB here in the UK. There may be noisy children full of sugary treats, mums full of lady fuel and dads "all beered up" so plan accordingly. PPE may be a good idea.
Do take care with all this fun floating about. It doesn't suit we gentlemen of a certain temperament. The car sounds splendid and thanks for the art. We have koffy since a nice chap drove all the way from MK City to ensure our PJ would be full of beans (coffee at least)Good morning everyone from under a splendidly blue sky here in the dark and dangerous north

Thank you @gennepher. Garden bin has been emptied, just waiting for the recycling bin now. I shall certainly enjoy my koffy. Our recycle has been collected @dunelm
But the bunting has been snagged and is hanging precariously.
The recycle wagon is lower than the wheelie bin wagon...
Still waiting for the wheelie bin wagon...
Car sounds brilliant!
I like the b&w art bit...soothing...
Enjoy that coffee...
This is the car I really wanted but they seem to topple over when cornering.Do take care with all this fun floating about. It doesn't suit we gentlemen of a certain temperament. Memories. My uncle had one of these - late 1950s early 60s if I remember rightly. Blue not pink as The Pink Pound hadn't been invented then. I prefer to take my chances in The Venerable RR.
Hug for the fbg. - dosage error? You really should have concentrated in Maths and Science like wot I dun. Hope everything is now sorted.Happy national bin day all.
Bloods this morning were 4.8
Stay safe and avoid cream cakes and trifle if you must.
