What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

This is the car I really wanted but they seem to topple over when cornering.

Really @dunelm
Not a hope in wotsit.
Never with two wheels in the front.
I drove a 3 wheeled Morgan for awhile, my boyfriend had it, long ago. The colour was Racing Green.
Two wheels in the front again, but cornering ability was also just about nil.
Next try with a 3 wheeler was a Bond, one wheel in the front. Again colour in racing green, not my car, a friend lent it me. But it was liable to do a Mary Poppins in a high wind.

A bicycle or motorbike can be 3 wheeled in my eyes...nothing else.

Midnight was waiting as usual on the swing for his breakfast yesterday (Thursday) morning. The usual loving from him. And he ate his favourite bits from the cat diner. Then settled on the cooler end of the swing for a sleep.

Then I returned to my bed with a coffee and a tea...

I got to drink them hot as there was very little activity in the garden. This is a little too quiet for early morning for me. I was out most of the day before, and went to bed when I got home. The traffic gridlock was already beginning Wednesday afternoon (we are the entrance to Wales from England here), and with the heat, that had finished me off completely by the time I got home.

So, I don't know whatever activity happened in my garden during the day.

No sign of Little Miss (teenage sparrow), but she had been spending more time with the Bluetits.

So, Mr Blackbird was next, in the absence of Little Miss. He got on the chair a couple of feet in front Midnight (who is on the swing), and is squawking absolutely furiously at him. One foul temper Mr Blackbird has. Midnight has never done anything to Mr Blackbird, so why all this absolute aggression from Mr Blackbird. I have have never seen a blackbird so close to a cat before and not end up a pile of feathers on the ground...

Still no sign of Little Miss by 8:45 am.

One of the Merlins (ginger cats) has fed.

And I am anxiously awaiting to see sight of Little Miss...

Second Merlin has now fed also.

It has the promise of a hot day, and the cats and birds do go to ground for the day when it is hot, and often don't emerge until the coolness of evening.

Midday, and in comes sweeping Mr&Mrs Bluetit and their three cheerful boisterous babies, to feed. They were great to watch. But where is Little Miss, (teenage sparrow, acting as an extra mum/au pair to those baby bluetits)? I am waiting for her. Then suddenly, in she flew. Now I am happy, my mind is at rest. Little Miss has put a smile on my face...she brightens up my day. So, yesterday at least, Little Miss has abandoned keeping Mr Blackbird out of this garden. Her energies are more usefully expended elsewhere, in helping keeping those baby bluetits safe. They all spent the day between the bushy leaves and the fat ball feeders. Those baby bluetits are growing up very fast. Little Miss left the garden at supper time when the Bluetit family left...

But before that, Mr Blackbird was loitering in the long grass making his presence and whereabouts very apparent. Then there were some skirmishes, and blackbird wings flapping above the long grass but I am unable to see what is going on, except Mr Blackbird does fly out of the grass in one piece.

I initially panicked and check the number of bluetits, check Little Miss, and check Midnight, but they are all are present and correct.

Then I realised, this is where the mouse nest is. I Google 'Do blackbirds catch mice?' A baby mouse wouldn't be beyond a blackbird's skill repertoire, would it? And it turns out apparently blackbirds can catch mice. But they can catch frogs as well. It wasn't a snail or a slug because this was a bit of a longer battle with flapping wings.

Creative today is my Acer leaves in a kaleidoscope with Laboscope. Silhouettes are Midnight and Shadow.

Time for a cuppa.

Oh, and by the way, the bin men did come yesterday morning (Thursday) for the bags of recycle and the general waste wheelie. And I got a shock. The road was absolutely spotless. The road and pavement normally looks like a general waste tip after the bin men have been. I suppose they had been told to clear up after themselves because of the Jubilee celebrations yesterday.

Why can't it be like this every week? Many years ago, they did clear the rubbish they dropped from the items they emptied.

Hooray for the bin men, they came round here also - first for the garden bin and then for the recycling bin - a pageant of pageants to match the little one in London. Lovely acre leaves, love the colour scheme.

Good morning everyone from a noisy start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
The ninky nonks and Little Miss Pamplemouse have already had breakfast and are now sitting round the dining room table with paper and coloured pencils drawing pictures of their day yesterday. A walk to the swing park and then down the funicular to the beach for ice creams and then back up to town through the woods, picking some wild garlic leaves to add to the salad for dinner.
Art bit - colour added from yesterday. Have a wonderful Friday off whatever it is you usually do on a Friday. Son and I are now drinking koffy.

Thanks for the Acer kaleidoscope compliment...

Sounds a brilliant day yesterday @dunelm with the little ones. And the garlic picking in the wild woods....
I love these very detailed Art Bits, and their shadings and colourings.

Hello from The Exotic East - a chap can dream. Sounds as though you are bearing up amazingly well under the strain @dunelm. Thank you for the art and enjoy your time with those grandchildren. @gennepher so much care and love for the wildlife in your garden and such a detailed account. Thank you for the Acer kaleidoscope. Day two of PJ will bring No 2 son, wife and 2 girls we rarely see in the flesh. I was struck by all the uniforms/costumes on display yesterday. As a result I shall dress up as a doting granddad and grateful, celebrating subject today. Hopefully, I won't get the costume dirty as I intend to use it until Sunday when I'll change into Genial/Clubbable Neighbour. We shall see how that goes. JKP went to the local Lark in The Park (pun on the river running through this town) with 2 grandchildren last evening. 3 yo needed to go home before fireworks - 9 yo grumpy he couldn't stay for fireworks. They were visible from our lounge so he should have been able to see them from his garden. All this and it is Super Salmon Salad day with a Test Match and an avocado as a bonus (Cricket may not last long at this rate) Do enjoy your day, safely and with due care and attention for others.as always. Don't sweat the small stuff: Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof

5.4 this morning. We are going to a little event at the Methodist church in our village this afternoon. Hopefully it won't be too crowded. There is going to be music and memories from the Royal decade. All proceeds are going to EACH.

The audience are expected to join in the singing. I might pass on that part of it. When our girls were small they begged me not to sing along with the radio if their friends were in the car. My singing is that bad.

Singing is very low carb - almost zero - and The Science ™ shows it lowers bg so belt out those songs young lady. I think it may actually be treason if you don't. Whale meet again is my fave.

Thank you @gennepher. I am enjoying doing them but they take such a long time to do.
Would you tell me how long they can take you? If you don't mind? I am interested.
I used to do detailed black and white drawings, detailed like this @dunelm but they would take a good part of the day.
And generally gave me a visual migraine after, but I could disappear into them as I did them, and really enjoyed doing them in mapping pen and India ink.

Hello from The Exotic East - a chap can dream.
Oh no @ianpspurs. I was shocked for a moment but then realised that I had misread a word in your post. It reminded me of another time I misread a word. I was so looking forward to visiting an exhibition of Japanese Exotic Art at the British Museum.

I left very quickly when I realised that there was an r in the word not an x and it was absolutely not the art I was expecting to see.

Hmm. Sounds like that MP googling "farm machinery" to me. Did you go back a few times just to check?

No chance of me being a genial, club able neighbour with the neighbours I have. I wouldn't be able to bury the hatchet long enough...
Batty Old Cantankeroud Lady in her hermitage this long weekend is me. I even unplugged my flashing doorbell.
I do support the Queen, and watched all those old aircraft flying over the Palace yesterday, on You Tube.
But the rest of this long weekend is mine, mine, mine...

Glad you liked my post this morning @ianpspurs

Do you think that the singing might cancel out the carbs from the cupcake we will all get with our coffee? I will definitely sing if it does.

Well @ianpspurs and @Krystyna23040
With being absolutely deaf as regards my own voice (I cannot hear it even with the cochlear sound processor), I would be out of tune, out of time, out of rhythm, and out of all the rest of it, and it would be treason if I did sing. My kids blame me for them being tone deaf in their singing, because I sang nursery rhymes and stuff to them. And I couldn't hear myself.

If I tried to sing for these celebrations I might even find myself dancing high up in the air at Tyburn...

Late Morening, drat over slept…..again things rushed.
Bloods were 6.2
Must rush orf now. Things to go, places to do,
Enjoy your day and stay safe.

May cancel the carbs but absolutely no substance known to humans can atone for the unspeakable horror and crime against the universe that is a cupcake. Even if anyone could make a low carb/keto one. Sorry but I don't make the rules.

The event went well this afternoon and almost £400 was raised for the East Anglian Children's Hospices.

There was info on world events in each decade since the 1950s. The choir sang songs from each decade. I joined in with the singing when it was the audiences turn to sing. Hopefully no-one heard me. I especially liked singing Land of Hope and Glory at the end. It felt just like the Last Night at the Proms.

There were some truly awful Dad Jokes. Much worse than Mr K 's jokes. I told him that I would never complain about his jokes again.

No cupcakes were eaten by either of us @ianpspurs.

Not a great singer @Krystyna23040

But the sheer pleasure I got from a drunken night or two joining in any singing .

A joy to behold .

Love the sound of that being like the proms.
Never been, but I definitely get the idea
And it does give goosebumps.:headphone:
