What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fbg 6.2

I had to go out yesterday morning to collect my meds, but they were not all there. I have to go and chase them up again next week, and so it goes on...

So by the time I had done some food shopping and got home and was ready for a nap, the cat diner was completely empty, so 8 bowls full wet food, as well as the tray of cat biscuits. And so I had no idea who had eaten. And I had missed all the early morning interactions between the Bluetits and GreatTits. That is the best time of my day, seeing all those early morning interactions. So nothing much to report from that. The Bluetits and GreatTits are getting good at coming into my garden in stealth mode to avoid that Mr Blackbird.

I applied my Ambre Solaire sun cream on Midnight's cut off ear (from when he was neutered), because I could feel scar tissue, and it felt hard and Midnight appeared bothered about that ear. I always wear that sun cream most days, so I reckoned he would be used to that smell. By the way, I have always had problems applying sun cream to any of my cats ears. It has never been an easy task. So, I was aware Midnight could launch into an attack on me when I applied the sun cream.

So, I went in for the kill, no pussyfooting around. Just went straight for his left ear, his eyes had an immediate reaction to me, going wider and wider, but then as I am massaging the sun cream in, I have a totally ecstatic ball of black fur. He was legless, sunk to the ground in a heap of purring and his eyes closed in total satisfaction...

I massaged at least 5 minutes, because every time I went to withdraw from massaging, the paws came up to grab my hand to continue.

That cut off ear must have been causing him itchy grief, from the hard scar tissue. Just one application has made a difference to him looking so much happier. I literally had a willing companion wherever I walked in the garden yesterday. He did not leave my side while I was outside. I did it again, and I will do that daily from now on.

This morning Midnight was first at the cat diner. He is showing a new appreciation of me!
Second was Jade, but I barely saw her.
Third was Mr Magpie. He took some raisins, and then proceeds to fly to my Fort Knox Fence neighbour's roof and runs up and down making a heck of a racket on the tiles. Then he proceeds to make extremely loud noises immediately above the bedroom area. It was still only 5 am this morning...

I watered my vegetable garden, and now I am ready for a nap....

Creative is a digital painting of mine, put into Tiny Planets app, and then silhouettes of some of the activity in my back garden yesterday.

Time for another hot cuppa. And time to turn the sensitivity and volume etc down on my Cochlear Hearing Processor. The garden is extremely noisy with natural nature sounds this morning. And there is a new bird calling, but I cannot see it, nor recognise the noise it is making. I need to download a bird song app again...

What a palaver. I have never understood how a list of repeat prescriptions can be so messed. Seems to happen to so many people. Just put together what it says on the list(s) - so incompetent. Glad that the sun cream is giving some relief for Midnight. Smashing art colours - down the rabbit hole you must go to escape the noisy birds.

Good morning everyone from what looks like a repeat performance of yesterday - breezy yet sunny. Girl in the bubble enjoyed her latest foray into cafe culture yesterday, and seems to have made great friends with some of the staff in our chosen cafe. She does like a toasted muffin with lashings of butter. Just the butter would do, truth to tell but we are not playing at that game. Then the girls were off - Mrs Miggins taking her to meet Great Aunts for a bit of lavender and Parma Violets. Farmers Market today so I wonder what tasty treats we will end up with. Girl in the bubble stay over later - it’s our Saturday evidently.
Art bit - adding colour to yesterdays cliff face. Have a wonderful Saturday. I shall now go and enjoy a mug of Monsoon Malabar.

Hello everyone from a summery oddity of an East Anglian sub region, almost as if it were God's Folly. Today is both the Queen's official birthday and St Barnabas day but I for one am all celebrated out for now. I may feel more jovial and jocund after today's sport extravaganza - cricket, rugby and football. Some of which (football) is free to air. Ideally, I would have been to the gym and hit my 10k steps before all that but such is life. I would dearly like to see Leicester win the rugby in memory of Tiffany Youngs and as a final rebuke for Saracens rule breaking. I don't detect any real contrition there. Hug for #prescriptiongate @gennepher and another for the hassle of obtaining those x rays. Thank you for the creative and on behalf of midnight. @dunelm is just licking the butter off things a gender trait? Our gels often do likewise and they do enjoy licking Dairylea - preferably from their finger:banghead:.. Enjoy today with TGIB and Monsoon Malibar - is it worth it - I'm quite happy with Waitrose house blend? Thank you for sharing your art and keep a close eye on those funky Northern £200 notes at that there Farmers Market. I have no idea what will boil your bacon today but I wish you all a wonderful, safe day making priceless, happy memories and sharing the love. Time for more Twinings Assam here.

The prescription lark drives me insane with the amount of times I have to return to the chemist, and wait yet again @dunelm
Midnight says thank you for the sun cream suggestion :cat:
He is so grateful I am doing it!
Thanks for the art compliment :)

Busy but enjoyable days for you @dunelm
Like this Art series where you post the ink drawing the day before, and the paint the next day. I learn from it...

6.2 this morning. Just catching up with posts before driving to Norwich. Lovely dog walk in the sunshine this morning

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those of unknown gender.
Bloods this morning were 6.3 and yesterday were 5.5
.
Mentioning yesterday I met up with some ex apprentices, we meet up on an irregular basis, apart from looking much older we still act the same, a bit less boisterously and the banter still flows. No punches are pulled. We all moved on to different careers, diverse careers, but we still think of ourselves as 18 year olds. Our venue for yesterday’s meet up was the Haynes Motor museum not far from Yeovil, if you are interested in cars and motorcycles it’s worth a visit if you are in the area, me I went for the social side and motorcycle ride. My total mileage yesterday was 199 miles and hopefully attached is a picture of my motorcycle outside the museum.

Sounds like you had a good a good ride out and a good day so win win. Added bonus must have been the peace and quiet for Mrs AJ. No doubt tempered somewhat by lingering thoughts of just what you may have said and done when unsupervised.

Absolutely great @alf_Josiah

One other thing @jjraak
About those electronic records you have.

Now with my records, one thing I was doing was I was trying to trace some important x-rays from around 10 years previously. Every department said no trace of these x-rays. I had to employ a patient's advocate. Between the two of us it took nearly a year to trace that the x-rays had taken place. But then came the bad news for me. The x-rays had been destroyed, Apparently, so they said, the department destroyed all x-rays after 10 years. These x-rays were vitally important for something I was fighting at the time.

If I had known this, I would have asked for copies of the x-rays, and it would have made my life much easier and simpler.

And so my advice is this. Get copies of every x-ray to do with your accident. and guard them with your life. They could be the make or break thing for something in your life in the future. The fact that there are words written about them in the digital reports you have, actually mean diddly squat. Because another doctor/legal expert can interpret those words in a completely different way.

You possibly think by reading the words about your accident, that it is cut and dried/black and white on what happened. But I can assure you (based on my experience) that they are not. Words can be manipulated to mean something different, depending on the agenda of the person involved with it. You need those x-ray pictures in your hands.

Just my take on this, based on my experience.

Sorry to hear that @gennepher .

Luckily I am expecting x-ray pics via post on a cd

And do have pics on phone from doctor's visit showing leg break from various angles.

But good advice from you , and taken on board.

Thank you :)

How annoying & such an easy task to boot :banghead::banghead:

Hoping it gets sorted at some point in the future.

Loving the description of time spent with midnight :happy::happy:

Such a lovely tale xx

Fbg 6.5

Yesterday, Midnight kept proffering me his belly to tickle. And I was wary after the other day. But he seemed to insist it was okay. His paws were relaxed, not curled up ready to grab. So I gently tickled his whole belly. His eyes smiled in satisfaction. Blimey.

I had just suncreamed his cut off ear. That was bliss to him again. Then I thought, while he is in such a good mood, maybe I could brush him with a soft brush. So I got the brush, and he instantly panicked looking at it, (thinking maybe I was going to hit him?), so I spoke softly, and he said okay then. I brushed his head, then back, and he offered up his belly again. That is pushing it for any cat, to be able to brush their belly. Even Popeye gave me the vice like attack on my arm when I touched his belly. So I brushed very gently. And he was very happy. I push my luck, as always, so got the wire brush (it was behind my back as I approached him), just let him see the soft brush, then swapped while his eyes were closed in bliss.

Then his eyes opened, 'what is this? his eyes said. So I showed it for him to sniff, and did the side of his face with it. And he said okay.

He has some matted dead fur on the rear end of his back, and I tried to work into the edges of that very gently. When he said no, he didn't vocalise but he got off the swing and went under the table. I was pleased because he didn't go for me, but laid his own boundaries out in his way. There was no animosity from him when he got back on the swing, so, I just did hand strokes, and brushes are put away until another day.

This is amazing progress with him. He wandered into this garden about a month ago, a bullish, resentful (possibly scared as well) scruffy tomcat on the top of my garage roof. Now he looks pretty good, fur is silky, and is eating far far less now he knows all he has to do is ask for food and I give him a small sachet of wet food. If I am locking up at night and I haven't given him his supper yet, he thinks I have forgotten and he rushes into the study doorway and won't let me get inside the bungalow until I get a fresh sachet of cat food for him...he is very vocal if I forget his supper...I don't forget his supper, but I am just clearing up prior to locking up, and he wants to make sure I have remembered.

I reckon he has not left this garden at all for about a week now.

He has had belly tickles already this morning and absolutely loves them. Unusual cat. He does disconcert me a bit because he lashes his tail when he is happy. Confusing to me trying to gauge what is acceptable to him.

No art today, just a collage of Midnight showing his pearly whites. This is the first time I have seen him open his mouth that wide. And each time I put my phone camera in front of me to take a photo of his lovely eyes, he did the slow blink thing. So, no photos of his eyes. Nothing wrong with them, he just trusts my phone camera...

I could see his back paw pads look as though they have walked very long distances. But it could be because of his football shape, he cannot reach them to clean them. So, that is on the list for today, a foot massage and pedicure...wish me luck...

I think he is a much older cat. Popeye looked much younger than Midnight does and Popeye was nearly 30 years old. How old is Midnight? Ten, Eleven, Twelve, older?

Jade is the second customer for the cat diner this morning. Midnight is totally accepting of her. He is just watching her eat now. Jade is not bolting her food now. She is eating slowly.

The ravens are incredibly noisy this morning. The Bluetits and GreatTits have arrived together. Mr Blackbird is around less now.

Everyone else, all bird and cat regular customers were present and correct yesterday.

And I am ready for my first nap of the day!
But a hot cuppa first.

No creative today, just a collage of Midnight.

Well that is a cat and three quarters and your patience and kindness with him seems to be paying off.

Good morning everyone from another dull and breezy start here in the dark land dangerous north. Dark Sky app informs that the day will be cloudy and temperatures reaching 16° - how lucky is that? Girl in the bubble stayed over last night and enjoyed a bit of time wearing her welly boots and digging for Britain with her gran out in the garden before she decided it might rain and came in. It didn’t. She could end up on the beeb with predictions like that. A BBQ to attend this afternoon so may end up with an OMAD event.
Art bit - a line of trees, just for a change. Have a fabulous Sunday if you can. I must quietly now go and make some koffy.

Wow Wow Wow @dunelm
I absolutely adore this painting.
One amazing line of trees!

5.6 this morning
We are off to Gooderstone Water Gardens this morning for a relaxing stroll and then coffee and sausage roll (for Mr K) at the cafe.

The 9 mile walk at Orford on uneven ground last week jiggled the ankle of my RTA.injured leg. Then instead of being sensible and gently doing some rehab exercises I overdid demonstrating some really strong exercises which made it more painful. I did then revert back to the rehab stuff and ankle is OK now.

I wanted to go to Sheringham Park today. Mr K very gently pointed out that an amble around the water gardens would be more sensible than a five mile route march around Sheringham Park today.

On reflection I decided he was right - so it is Gooderstone water gardens today. I do hate giving in to the old injury but know that building up activity levels more slowly definitely works and ankle will be fine on a route march next week.
