What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hug for the bouts of cramp. To my mind if one is fixated on the precise when and not the what of Easter especially you may be somewhat missing the point. I also find it hard to see a pagan nodding in agreement to the Nicene creed but then I'm a very simple soul.
The early Christian church was very good at taking over local festivals and making them their own - it saved quite a lot of mainstream opposition. The only ones who objected seriously were hard core members of the old religions - and the Christian church knew how to deal with them! It seems difficult to understand how determined the mediaeval church was to fix their own dating of religious festivals, even so far as setting up crusades against fellow Christians who were willing to give their lives to defend their own date. You are quite right Ian - it's the essence of Easter, Christmas and so on that matters, not the precise date.

Good morning everyone from melting central. The word hot has far few letters in it to fully describe the experiece. I felt like a smart, fresh Mivvi ice lolly thrust inside a tandoor oven. Still, thank goodness for the invention of shade and also dual speed electric fans. Ecumenical rule books - I have read a few. The ones by Terry Pratchett seem the most reasonable. Art bit, onwards and upward. Hope your day is kind to you. Drink water and, as Davy Crocket’s dad advised when he said that he was going to the Alamo, “wear the fox hat”. Koffy, must have koffy.

Then he takes a chance...

Creative is a kaleidoscope of storksbill and forget-me-nots with other plants...

Have your best day...

It's another hot one.

Have a cuppa...

Both our ovens stopped working a few days ago. Until yesterday had not been too inconvenient, but when the chicken fillets from the freezer turned out to be chicken thighs the plan for a quick dinner had to be scrapped. MrSlim cooked them on the bbq which took ages, so once again dinner after 8pm.
Market day today. I really must go.

Enjoy that coffee @dunelm

6.6 this morning.

At last have worked out why the calendar on my phone doesn't sync with my calendars on my PC or tablet. My old phone would sync automatically but my new phone has a sync button you have to press. Only took 2 weeks to work out.

Mivvi...what a blast from the past.

Remember buying from the shops for my sister.

And an 'oyster' a clam shell wafer type ice cream from the icecream van

...ooh and cream soda from the Corona van that toured the streets for an ice cream float.....

Those happy days of summer past.

Good luck with the heat.

Hope ya don't melt, but if ya do....

Baggsie the big bike...

Morning all how you 'doin? Today I eventually slept until just after 8.00 am - scared #1son when I wasn't awake to answer my phone. He was after a UV stabilized hat for #1 grandson. I had dutifully provided a specimen around 4.15 - one now needs a diagram and demo for that process and it produces a biological hazard cat 6 according to the special bag - but went back to sleep until a little girl shouted Nanny. Open windows are useful. The "heat" - quickly forgotten last year uk - may have made this area siren central yesterday. Major farm fire near the airbase which is the USAF fuel base for Europe :arghh: @dunelm thanks for the art and hug for the impact of the mild weather. If your childhood involved Mivis I'll take no lectures from you on being entitled. Those or Walls Hearts were my go to on summer evenings as a lad. As for Pratchett, the people I have heard eulogise him all seemed to be Scientists or wannabes - which tells/told me all I needed to know thanks. @gennepher thanks for the kaleidosocpe which I see as belonging in an Orthodox church on an Icon. That badger is a very stout citizen. We've fallen to secret socks weather here but salad central suits me fine. Enjoy your day but maybe not for 6/7 weeks from Friday onwards for "baggy green" wearers.

Went to Lidl early with duchess and got the weeks shopping. It was almost up to 24 coming home, another hot day in prospect but can't believe it will start raining almost daily for a week come the weekend.
Stopped the Clopidogrel on Sunday and taking 75 mg aspirin instead until surgery get back to me.
Feeling much better already.

Good news on getting the vittles early and excellent news on aspirin making you feel better. Let's hope the surgery either say carry on or provide an alternative which suits you equally well.

Just had a letter from the Golden Jubilee hospital in Glasgow to phone them for an appointment for the MRI scan. That was quicker than I expected. If it is during the school holiday (not far away now) DIL will travel with me and Alistair will keep the laundry going for the couple of days it will take. Can't phone just now because both Neil and I are waiting for a phone call from the GP.

Good news on both fronts .

Always good to hear things are moving faster then expected...

My phone has now decided it will sync all my appointments I make on the phone Google calendar with my tablet and PC Google calendars. I don't have to press the sync button again. I have no idea why it has decided to do this.

I am really pleased it is working properly now but it is so annoying that I wasted so much time trying to sort it. Sometimes I do hate technology. Perhaps I should have looked at the instructions before trying to sort it out. Maybe that would have been a wise thing to do.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentleman and whoever when ever. Another full on day here.
Blood sugars this morning were a mind numbing 4.0 and calculations were horrendous, but thankfully the tea bag mug was spot on.

For those having problems in the small room in the house I came across the ideal solution showing necessary equipment. Try and see the attached picture

Stay safe all.

That duct tape really does come in useful n that smallest room...

Good morning everyone from what looks to be another hotter than a hot thing in the land of daaan saaaf. Managed to steer my way round a shaded route and get over that arbitrary 10, 000 step mark without a murmur of complaint from hip or back. I have been given the opportunity to use a Karcher pressure washer this morning, to clean off the 273, 001 insect remains from my car but it’s really not my prime concern. Art bit, onwards and upwards. Hope you are taking the best of care in this heat. Best get some koffy before the sun gets too high.
