Late getting up, out to coffee with neighbours. Sadly found sparrow fledgling on doorstep when I got home, but it died while I was still trying to figure out how the ladders go together ( they dont- different sets) something has eaten a hoglet as well, just the prickles left in the middle of the garden. Anyone have any idea. Obviously not Kiki this time.
She did catch some kind of large beetle, but was successfully distracted with a grass stem.
Edited to add only four attempts needed to post this. No idea why it wasn't working.
It has been playing me up as well @SlimLizzy

Thanks @ianpspurs
Have fun today with your cricket!

I preferred cricket played down south on an English Village Green with the ubiquitous oak tree for shade, and sandwiches and orange juice (I was about 9 years old, I did not drink tea). It was Meopham Village Green, and I am sure I recall a derelict windmill which they wanted to do up.

I did not like cricket played in Calverton, Notts where I lived at one time) by the miners, which was a more rowdy affair, and didn't looked sedate and relaxed and gentlemanly at all to me.

And that is my tuppence worth on the matter of I cricket.

Now going back down my rabbit hole which has more twists and turns and mysteries, shifts and illusions than Alice's rabbit hole...
So - a Kentish maid. I was born in the London part of Surrey but we moved to Canterbury when I was small and I was raised there. I felt Kentish even though I wasn't really. Had to have buried 3 generations in the area to be local.

About two-thirds of my childhood was split between Kent, and Nottinghamshire, on and off, alternately...

7.0 this morning.
Received some very sad news today. A long term class member caught Covid and has been on a ventilator in hospital. Last week he was much better and had asked me to send exercises that he could do in his hospital bed. Today his wife contacted me to say he caught another infection and went downhill rapidly. He died in the early hours of this morning.

Another sparrow fledgling by the back door today. This one however appears healthy, has all its feathers and a very loud demanding call. Kiki did show me where it is, but swiftly lost interest when it froze in silence and she wandered off. Am hoping the parents will still feed it even though it is currently earthbound.

Marvelous Marigold

Good afternoon from a hot afternoon here in the dark and dangerous north. Left the south early this morning and despite the junction of the M1/A1/A64 at Leeds managed to get home by noon before the sun ramped up the heat. Art bit - not much done, still. Hope your day improves with age. Koffy has been relegated in favour of tea (time of day effect).

I remember Chernobyl, and the Sellafield alarms, and that was when I stopped eating sheep and lambs...

I do have liquid iodine, in case. I also have miso soup, enough for a long time...in case...

I have been preparing for some years...

I didn't know John Campbell had said that...going to Google...
It's interesting the star that fell to Earth in Revelation is called Wormwood, and that's what Chernobyl means in Ukrainian, so I am told.

Brilliant sketch @dunelm
Cuppa tea sounds good...

6.8 this morning. Archie not feeling 100%, as he had a bit of a tummy upset yesterday, so I stayed here with him while Mr K took Poppy to the park. He is now sleeping peacefully in the conservatory. Archie, not Mr K.

At last we have got our daily paper delivery sorted. much to my horror we suddenly started getting The Daily Mail delivered with our ''i' newspaper.

A new lady had started sorting the papers and she thought that the 'I' daily meant the 'I' and the DM.

Morning all. Let's be ave'in you. First sunny day for what seems like ages. :D @Krystyna23040 hug for the poor man's family and the fact it clearly had an impact on you. Your newsagent obviously had advanced notice of the new star columnist. Quite surprised that people still take a daily paper but JKP often picks a free Times up in Waitrose. Hope poor Archie stays well. @dunelm glad you made it home safely and before the day became too hot. Thanks for sharing the art yesterday and in advance for today. Goodies came too late yesterday for Dockey (Elevensies or local version) but blueberry muffins texture and fruit top notch - 3.1 gms carb allegedly. I detected an aftertaste but I do in many things now possible side effect of the cocktail of pharmaceuticals. Scone with clotted cream and keto jam is next up then a cinnamon doughnut. Interesting selections from a man who doesn't really like sweet things or keto - keep off the grass sign syndrome? Vacuum cleaner then more lemon tea (Darjeeling and real lemon daarling) first. Have a great day - if it isn't really @Krystyna23040 's newsagent has a shouty mouthpiece to say it really is.

Good morning everyone from a bright and quite warm start here in the dark and dangerous north. Surprising how these trips can take it out on me. This age thing creeps up and then all of a sudden pounces. It was not very long ago that I was doing a week or more touring Europe on my bike and enjoying the views from mountain tops. Now, it seems that a mere 300 miles in an air conditioned car absolutely floors me. Could have traveled by train but not that reliable and the cost seems astronomic even with my little old bloke pass. Humbug! Art bit - well, it’s moving along a bit. Have a smashing day if you can. Some shopping to do later but first, some koffy.

Wildlife camera...both vids under one minute

Magpie steals cat biscuits again...

AND

Badger, KissyKissy, is back - he wants to get on that swing like the cats! And when he cannot jump on, he resorts to trying to pull the cloths/clothes off the swing, but does not succeed because I have now tied them all on with rope.

Creative is a kaleidoscope of a beautiful orange scented rose in my garden.

Have your best day...

Time for a cuppa?

Or two...

A tad harsh @gennepher but I know it comes form a good place :D Thank you for the vids and that wonderful kaleidoscope. I'm warming to the magpie. must be the colour. I've even given him the name Monty. @dunelm enjoy the coffee and perhaps induge in a wry smile or even an aarf, aarf, chortle building into a guffaw, belly laugh then wheeze over this. @gennepher I hope you take this in the right way and enjoy 2 cuppas as a minimum - other parents are available at all good stores and some truly awful ones. The badger looks a wrong 'un so an obvious name for him.:D
