What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fbg 7.1

Some frozen chicken (obviously I cooked it) raised my blood sugars to over 10 . And it didn't come down quickly. It did this last time, but I gave it a second chance, because it could have been something else. I didn't feel good yesterday with those higher blood sugar readings. Just felt iffy.

The fox got supper last night. All gone this morning...

Wildlife video
Badgers drinking water all through the night.
They came back time and time again to drink water, much more than these video clips.
Their usual water supply away from my garden might have been poor.
Wild animals need water.
I do have a bucket of water in the front garden as well...
1min 4secs

Creative - alas no painting today. I still feel a bit sleepy from that chicken upsetting my stomach yesterday.
So, a photo.
Borage is growing in my container vegetable garden in the back garden, and so a photo.

Have your best kind of day.

A quick nap first...

Lovely cucumbery borage - nice in a salad, not so much in gin.

Good morning everyone on a mixed messages start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.1 this am so will award myself a “good boy” sticker and a certificate to take home to my mum. Pub - after the refurbishment can we still call it a pub? Or is it now just another posh looking sanitised place that sells beer and a menu that is just a list of words for things that may or may not have been partly prepared in a warehouse in Slough by robots who are programmed to sing The Laughing Policeman by Charles “Jolly” Penrose with their faces cunningly resembling some maniacal orange faced impeachment photo fit designed by Suda the painting elephant from Chiang Mai. I spent my time making up stories about the staff and the other guests with an inbuilt commentary by Alan Bennett while pushing some girl food round my plate in an attempt to be in the Tic Toc groove. Art bit - well, a bit more. Have a hip hop, the hippie to the hippie the hip hip a hop, and you don't stop, a rock it to the bang bang boogie, say up jump the boogie, to the rhythm of the boogie kind of a day. Now where’s my koffy.

Looking very majestic @dunelm
Enjoy that coffee...

10.1 this morning at 3.00 and rising (10.9 now) after pain killers and 2 cups of tea. Probably should have some breakfast soon. Today is the day for baking Em's birthday cake so that it's ready to decorate tomorrow. Lemon drizzle but it will be covered in fondant icing. Better do it early before I run out of steam.

I would like to say “Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen “ so me, me’s and myself shall say Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen. It’s amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.1

The postings today seem to have a Monty Python theme and fellow greaser and artist and poster @dunelm ’s post has a surreal edge, just what were they serving in that pub?

Here in Tilehurst Towers all is quiet, the only sounds are the ticking of the clock and odd slurp of koffy.
Now me, me’s and myself must away, medication awaits.
Stay safe all and if your are cake making no licking the bowl and for those doing admin creative accounting is not all it’s said to be.

Talking about Lockerbie on R4 this am.
Heard all about it first hand as a guy from Executive Cabs who took me to Skelton in the closing stages of my Beeb career was up and down at the time taking people from Carlisle Station to Lockerbie.

For a time afterward you could see the hole in the bank of he A74 where the houses were missing.

They were searching as far south as the Solway with helicopters.
We heard tales of piles of human parts, must be a rotten job being a policeman. The flight must have gone directly overhead here and blown up a few minutes later.

Morning all from L.A. where summer is still hanging on the telephone. A good day to visit the graves in The Old Country and acquire some wild Alaskan salmon. You'd be wild at being caught, cut up and transported to Cambridgeshire. Busy day today perfecting the Perp glare. A sort of insouciant, menacing grimace giving off that, "look we both know I'm guilty as hell but you can't touch me" vibe. We watched a survival program last evening where a wolverine giving off similar vibes came off poorly. @dunelm thanks for the art and that tour de force post. Were "exotic" mushrooms involved at any stage yesterday? @gennepher thanks for sharing the video and borage photo but hug for #chickengate. @Annb I hope the cake turns out as you wish and I'm sure Em will be well aware just how much love it contains. @lindisfel thanks for alerting me to John Lennox and do enjoy your admin. Yesterday was very humid for a while here but no thunder ensued. Leg of lamb, even looking as per young G Wallace's Esq's happy dance fantasy is quite an unpleasant experience imho - ymmv. A surprise HbA1c hove into view yesterday. 5.7 is fair enough I guess when placed in proper context but 2 or 3 points lower, as per June, sits better with me. Proper sense of patriarchal, entitlement creeps into my posts from time to time. Have as good a day as you can.

6.3 today.

Our bathroom partly finished oh didn't I say Keiran decided that the bathroom needed renovating last week new flooring walls painted and just the new skirting boards and bath panels left to do.
Keiran has been a busy boy this summer. Must be a source of joy for you to see how he has given back all the love yourself and Judith have given. Shalom to you all.

6.5 this morning.
General trend is very slowly down overall. Would like consecutive days in normal range!

Been to town for her rhubarb pies, also my ham shank, which has for some reason disappeared already, just gone!
got the paint and a couple of other stuff from Wilko before they close. I would like to have a few more bob in the bank to get some much needed stuff and such for the house and garden. But food and paying bills are the priority! Aaaghhh! Just not much for extras or luxuries! Never thought it would be this hard in pension age! Was it worth putting away in a pension fund?

Couldn't believe how cold it was overnight. Heating was on because the temperature dropped below 18 degrees in the house! It started to get warmer through the morning, cloud cover thinning and around midday it was quite lovely, so just before I wanted to spend time in garden the wind has got up and cooled everything down again!
Such a pity! (Insert appropriate swear words here!)

Tried to have conversation about Christmas with Mrs L before. Despite having notes available about how we are gonna sort it out! It was very King Knut, no grasp of time or how to decide options. Like my anxiety, her misrememberitis has a bad day, then a not so bad day! Sometimes the blank stare or her misunderstandingeritis (new word of the day) it is so disarming and frightening!

Gotta go, the boss has issued orders to clean the stairs and hall, because of the dust hiding in between the carpet and paintwork.

Best wishes as always.
Is that a Norwegian Blue?

Somehow I made too much of the cake mixture to go into the tins (I was sure the tins I have take a half pound mixture each, but no). So I enxed up having to use the remainder to make a dozen small cakes - bit smaller than cupcakes, they are new silicone cake shapes I wanted to try. Turned out well, but now I'll have to put some fondant icing over them. Wonder if they'll freeze well. Probably, as long as they aren't iced first. That's what I'll do - put them in the freezer and bring them out for some other occasion. Em's cake is already in the big fridge where she very rarely looks - only if I ask her to get a new bottle of milk out for me, which I don't need to do today.

BG in the 10's - whatever I did. Just stubborn.
