What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I have misplaced my reading glasses overnight but since I had both my cateracts done properly I can read without glasses and see car number plates at 25 yds ok.
But glasses can improve things one has to use them for driving if they were wanted in the past.

Have a good day all.

7.8 at 0600 all’s quiet on the home front been awake since about 0300 don’t dare switch the light on Judith needs her rest as has to go in to the office today car being collected early this morning so it’s a taxi for Judith today. I have found the only way to hear the dawn chorus around here these days is via my echo show or maybe I’m just going deaf who knows mind you not dawn for a while anyway.

Have found them ok. Marjorie had some news from a friend. It was not good news and came a bit late for her to take it on board and sleep well.
Perhaps I had a senior moment. :) ;)

Surprised this is low (for me) with all that is going on...

Wildlife nighttime video
Cat & Mouse
Cat is Jade

I think mouse has lived for another night of entertainment for the cat

Been thinking all night on this CD letter issue from the DWP
I have several possible courses of action to take.
Decided on which ones.
Initiated most of them this morning in the early hours.
With the internet we don't have to stick to office hours...
Friend wants me to take one I've chosen not to.
But I need a life.

Done this kind of stuff before, taking organisations to task (and including DWP some years ago). All very time consuming (one took over 2 years, and I did achieve something of a great change and long term with that one for others, with the aid of a Patient's Advocate who worked tirelessly on my behalf, but at great mental cost to myself). But I have found generally (as we all realise) that once the complaint is over, the slap on the wrist taken place, even a little compensation given, it all goes back to exactly as it was before, and basically you have achieved nothing that should have helped you and others. What was it all for? But now and then you can make a difference.

Anyway, learned my lesson on that as to how much energy not to expend.
Just going to compose my email to friend. It was nice to know she would have helped me with all the emails, but in the early hours I am mentally alert to do this kind of stuff, and now most initial contacts are done and dusted...

CAB (I have contacted them online now I know exactly what is on that CD), and the also the MP.

Friend has helped me a lot in the past, and I have learnt from her how to write and approach stuff. She is very good at that stuff.

And thanks to you lot for listening to me on this CD issue, it helps to write about it for me and helps me order my thoughts and go forwards with it.

I so need to immerse myself in actual physical art work (not digital, which I do love doing), and going through all my art materials....

Creative is another kaleidoscope in Laboscope. Midnight posed. He looks owl like...

I do need to chase up Evri/Hermes today - a parcel has gone AWOL...always something...

I think it is time for a cup of tea, then a quick nap....

Have your best kind of day.

I'm still astounded it survived student me delivering the Christmas post.
Me too!
I was still at school when a guy came round enlisting us!
It was better than the last two weeks or so before Xmas working instead of studying.
I caused havoc. They made the mistake of letting me use the franking machine....hundreds of ripped up letters/Xmas cards spewed into the air. I was banned to lost letter items after that episode...
I feel guilty now of all that unreceived mail...

I never thought of you as a female Frank Spencer. I am sure you have written a deliberately self effacing post. ;)

Keiran works for the Post Office as data analyst so is middle management sort of every now and again they do a branch day helping out talking to customers for a day in a local post office supposed to be optional but got the impression frowned upon if you opt out.
The only time I’ve worked for them was when at university sorting parcels leading up to Christmas hard work and in the small hours of the day but not much to mess up.

Morning all from a dry but chilly L.A. Hive needed to fire up the Quattro, oops boiler, to reach 17.5 this morning. Still, that Hunt guy will shower us all with something or other later - verbal slurry/ pure economic fantasy mainly. New Libre fitted and working so fbg was 4 on waking, rose during ablutions and dressing - hit 6.4 at one stage (showers and Libre are a marriage made in hell) -, 5.6 after going downstairs, feeding dogs, attending to dishwasher then 5.5 by 8.00. Huge BMI of 22.8 - more water drunk lately? - trend is 22.5 where I feel most comfortable (would have been too light for rugby and power hitting, ideal for football, way too heavy for running) @JohnEGreen hug for early waking and winner for love for Judith over the light. @lindisfel hug for Marjorie over the news. @Annb hug for no phone and the idea of sitting in the cold. @gennepher I hope and pray the course you have set in motion works. Thanks for sharing the wonderful kaleidoscope - yes, wonderful for a cat one from me. I need more tea and to follow the C of E online morning worship (BCP) - which has been and remains more beneficial to managing T2 and now cancer than any possibly pseudo scientific diet. Sorry any pearl clutchers and MAGA dudes/Boris lovers but there really is only one truth. Y'all have a good day now.

Another incident I remember from that time.
I delivered post as well.
No one told me that the road I was delivering on, turned a sharp left corner. I carried on delivering on the straight main road, until the numbers on the letters didn't make sense, then I realised I should have taken a sharp left...
But that is not what I was going to tell you about.
I had to take two bus rides with my huge (prison made it was in those days) mail sack. I had some large parcels to one address in a very posh district. It was 7am in the morning, you received mail at that time in those days.
I rang the doorbell. A maid answered the door. She was dressed in black with a white lacy pinny, and that little white headband thingy.
"We do not take in parcels until after 9 am" the maid haughtily informed me, "it disturbs the master and mistress". And she closed the door on me.
I went back to the road, nearly burst into tears, then I thought, oh no you don't do that to me lady.
I marched back to the door, and rang and rang that doorbell. The maid came back furious. "You have a choice" I told her. "Either you take these parcels off me now, or I shall ring and ring this doorbell".
She took the parcels off me...

I am sure those postmen set me up on the jobs they sent me to do...

Thank you so much for the kaleidoscope compliment Ian
You have a good day...

Morning all. The thread semi literate village idiot here from what now resembles the desolation of Smaug outside. Thanks be to God Sunday is Advent Sunday when spiritually and in The World two very different kinds of light, hope and cheer arrive. No fbg as Stefan from Parcelforce is, like Santa Claus, coming to town (later) If anyone thinks I’mma stabbing ever again you’ve misread me badly. We will be having organic, grass fed beef later. Woke enough for you Loretta and how have you sneaked tech into the jungle? The beef sounds fine until one reflects on just how much latitude UK laws allow for labelling. Still, Ocado flash sale means it was cheaper than the bog standard version so we can feel we’ve done our best for our wallet/purse and grandchildren. @dunelm I’m no Sister Wendy, God rest her soul, but thanks for the majestic art. Enjoy breakfast and lunch. @gennepher I really hope your plans work and the issue is resolved. Despite it all you remain so resilient. Thanks for sharing the amazing kaleidoscope. You’ve all suffered enough at my hands for now.
Thank you @ianpspurs

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those who struggle at the coal face of life and also those who don’t, let’s not be partisan about this.

Blood sugar this morning was 5.1 .

It’s plinky plonky day and also religious zealot day, the plinky plonky me, me’s and myself are looking forward to, the religious zealots not so much so. Never mind, I don’t mind and they don’t matter as the old saying goes.

Now if you fellow posters and painters don’t mind it is time for me, me’s and myself to move on, if you do mind, well read the previous paragraph again.

On the subject of postmen, ours is well into his fifties and tries to give me a dog biscuit when I bark at him, a smashing fellow and a great sense of humour.

Stay safe all and smile at the world after all it is a beautiful place.

5.8 this morning.
Don't have to go far to my morning classes as I got a call last night that the boiler had broken down in the village hall I use.

It took all of 15 minutes to book the church hall in our village and text class members of the change. So nice to have the classes practically on the doorstep.

Thank goodness for friends who are willing to help and I do hope that the recipients take note and some sort of action. I used to complain by letter, email and also Fax (if there is a fax number - they do tend to be read - or did). My mother has a habit of complaining on a postcard so open to anyone to read - she keeps some in her handbag for immediate action. Smashing owl cat kaleidoscope

Nowadays The Post Office and Royal Mail are separate privatised companies. Of course they have to run in lock step.

Good morning everyone on a sea fret of a start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.7 this am. Admin day yesterday. My pal from LA wanted his fancy watch strap adjusted and was pleasantly surprised that our local jeweler only charged him £4. It’s evidently an arm and a leg in the USA or at least a rib. Received a email from ‘DVLA’ about a refund - yeh, right. Forwarded it to their phishing email address and got an acknowledgement back - Arn’t they lovely . Good news yesterday as Mrs Miggins’ sister finally home from hospital six weeks after having a stroke. A few changed had to be made in their house first. Art bit, the beginning of some rocks. Need to think about some background later, or not. Undecided. Have a pleasant day if you can. Koffy is now needed.

True can be confusing though as your local post office if you have one where you take your parcels and such is the Post office not Royal Mail which act as couriers.

Taking of taking powers to be to task we a few years ago won two judicial reviews against Wigan council and social services with the judges giving bothe a severe telling off resulting in the council having to review an change their attitude and the way they dealt with children with physical disabilities.

Ah, clever mum...I might take note of that...

thanks for the cat/owl compliment @dunelm
