What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

9.9 at 0430 today. Rose to 11.1 and stayed there for a while. Had pain killers (essential) and tea. 5 hours later I took some paracetemol to try to get my joints going - they are now, I'm glad to say. Had insulin and buttered crumpets (2), just because I wanted to. BG down to 10.7 now.

Our toaster broke down and Neil couldn't fix it so he bought a cast iron one for using on the hob. Works quite well for his toast but it's not great for crumpets. I buttered the cold crumpets (heavily) and toasted them, butter side down, in a mini frying pan (marginally bigger than a crumpet), then turned them over to do the back. It's a great way to do crumpets - more fried than toasted really, but delicious.

A strange intensely new ginger, cat came right into the bungalow to steal Midnight's food. Midnight got ready to send him packing, but then he saw the size of this ginger cat I looked at Midnight. Midnight looked at me and we both decided discretion was the better part of valour....

Who gives these unknown cats, precise instructions on ...go through the catflap, turn left, open the kitchen door with your claws, go in the hallway, open the next door by shouldering it, then once you are in the front room, you turn right, mind a huge pile of full plastic bags the owner is sorting through which are on your left, and then on your right there are some Amazon boxes (Don't worry, these are full of catfood which the owner has not got round to opening yet),, make your way round those and you come to a curtain, lift the curtain, and you are into a small hallway, straight ahead is another curtain lift that curtain, and then Hey Presto, all the catfood, wet and dry, you can eat...

This intensely coloured ginger cat has never been in the bungalow before....

Then once he left the bungalow, both Midnight and I gingerly got out of bed and crept towards the curtain. You first, said Midnight. Oh no no no I said you first, but Midnight went back on the bed so I had to go through the curtains all alone...

Every scrap of catfood in the kitchen had been eaten by this enormous giant of a marmalade cat...

Creative... Trying to do a fine ink drawing this morning, but the pen nib still has too much black ink on it. So the lines are thicker than I wanted, and Midnight was not cooperative as a sketchbook stand. He wanted to grab my hand as I was drawing, and I'm drawing with a cat holding my right hand with two paws.... he holds my hand with two paws, pretty much all of the night when I'm sleeping in bed.

Hence, I had to sign this with Midnight's name as well....

Wildlife nighttime camera.
The Badger who wants to be a cat. This is Pa Badger. He covets the cat's seat gets on swing & has a good old belly scratch. He groomed himself for over 15 minutes on that spot.
Boy Badger is in the clip as well, on the ground...
2mins

I have stuff to do and I am late....

Please pass on my thanks to Midnight for letting you share his creative. The boy dun good. Also thanks on behalf of all the local stray cats (I didn't do the song) that watch this thread for giving full directions to Genn's foodbank - most helpful. Are you sure that monster Ginger wasn't Pa Badger coming home from a Cat and Vicar fancy dress party and thinking I know a place just like one of those kebab vans humanssh youssh but for cats and badgers?

Giant greedy marmalade cat needs a talking to but thankfully Midnight made up for it with a splendid piece of art.

Morning all on the day the mad, bad and dangerous to know have had Danish pastries smoked salmon with the Tiny Dancer currently following his leaders and never mind the country. Meanwhile IRL, hugs for @dunelm's BIL but winner for another exemplary moody (not the Danny Dyer type) masterpiece. A fair to middling day for us yesterday. Garden furniture delivered to Cambs and the two grandchildren who missed the meal treated to McDonald's. Wind yer neck in all you Almond Mum types, it is a rarity, not as though we've gone full Goblin Mode. If you are trying to reach out to someone, feeling crook or swamped by trying to live some influencer's best life, have a hug. I need to take 93.99 MIL her tea then have some Kefir+protein, blueberries and seeds (the ones like Trill but without the 'erb) and my chemo tab - see, not Goblin Mode but perhaps as mad as a box of frogs. Laters peeps.
Thank you @ianpspurs and thankful not to be mistaken for Billy the Limpet

14 again this morning , only been cutting out a lot of carbs for about 8 days . I need to include cancer killing foods which include parsnips and carrots , I think I only have around 80 carbs a day , I do not have milk in coffee now I drink black coffee as of 8 days ago , I love it and wish I had tried it before . so that is taking a lot of carbs from my body for sure , I do not eat a lot of potatoes , one small scoop for tea , I probably could cut that out . So I am continuing this low carb eating and hope my A1c will drop even a bit , I shall see . I walk an hour daily and also do a 15 minute workout daily , I want to do this as lowering or reversing type 2 will help me feel more confident that cancer will not come back. I weight 13.12 , so not exactly overweight , but I need to be around 11 stone tops . My CPAP is amazing I am sleeping 9 hours a night , sleep is important for health , so long may this continue .

Been doing pre- pre - chrimbo shopping but adding a few festive bits.
#8 was taken to hospital for breathing difficulties early morning, according to DiP and she works there the queues are out the door for A&E. Many are sent to wards to wait there. The hospital is full.
#6 has a chest infection, #3 son, father of said grandkids is asthma hacking. Plenty of antibiotics being dosed.
Also two kids bikes have appeared in small bedroom.
#2 son is away with government work, sorting out rishis backlog. Hope it hurts the pm!
Mrs L has informed, no ordered, the lawn cut as it needs tidying up a little, I said, ok!
Mower has retired for the winter. But whether she believes it is the leaves or grass I'm not certain.
It's not raining, but likely to, wind comes then drops, clouds building again, but for some reason it's quite warm for December.
And my physio, is quite pleased with how my back is doing, but saying I must increase the exercises for my spondylitis, he was not to concerned about the numbness in my back tho. He has released me with a proviso, if I need physio again, get my GP to sort it.

Need to praise the artwork.

Some pork chops to be grilled. Learnt from a custody sergeant!

My best wishes to you all as always.

Best wishes for all those needing antibiotics. Hopefully all will be well before the 25th. Good news from the physio.

All the best with number 8. Good going with the physio.

Hi Lamont,
Sorry to hear about the grandkids I hope they are soon well again, that area always seemed to have a smell of hydrocarbons when we were coming through from North Wales across to the M6 North to Cumbria from Queenserry.

It was the same coming North over Bowes Moor, the air gets cleaner but the farmers are a source of slurry spreading pollution nowadays.
Its the shear quantity of humans in a given area caues the smell with their industries.
Where our eldest lives is ok but there are loads of not very good vehicle fumes to trigger asthma attacks for youngters.

I hope everyone has their best day.

We are into local town early the take the Octavia in for a cam belt change and an Mot.
Then come back in the fabia for breakfast.

Yesterday I went back into Carlisle to pick Marjorie up after Tai Chi after taking her in earlier.
The disabled parking is just a few a spaces and no good for someone who needs access to a building society and is not mobile.

Alan took me to the Cumberland infirmary monday, i have transfered my pacemaker checks from the Freeman to Carlisle.

I never know how I will feel if they tweek it and switch it off and speed it up etc.
So I need transport.

D.

Good morning everyone from a drizzly start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.4 this am but not a partridge in sight. We are going to watch The Girl In The Bubble identifying as a camel today in her infants nativity. These things are always so much fun. Later, a lunch with the siblings of Mrs Miggins. I shall be Mr Fezziwig. Art bit, more paint scrapings with the blockbuster video card. I hope that everyone has a pleasant pre-bin day experience. Hugs for ailments and the price of replacement car parts. Must be koffy time somewhere.
