What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hi All you know I am one of your biggest supporters but I am stepping away for a little while as when I had my eye injection on Tuesday I had an injury which I can’t describe. I am getting better but I am not ready to move on to normal stuff yet.
Take care and hope everything heals and you are feeling better soon .

@Ryhia Celeriac! Yes, I could not remember the name!
Well, I started at 6.2, was 7.6 at the 2 hour mark, then shot up to 8.3 half an hour later, down to 5.2 two hours after that. I should’ve tested the mince pie (@DEBBIESCOTT I deliberately threw the other half out for the jackdaws) on separate days to the chips. Or left several hours between because I don’t know what triggered the delayed rise.
Those rises don't sound too bad at all. Well done.

6.1 fasting for me today, so a good start. Appointment with my GP this afternoon and I confess I really nervous as my last Hba1c 10 days ago read 101!! Since then I've done a lot of work and brought my BGs down dramatically and lost 8lb. I'm really hoping he'll give me more time rather than reaching for the prescription pad.

Whatever happens there's no more I could have done.

Stay well everyone
Mine was 109 in October, having it done again in January so I'm hoping for a reduction. Well done in what you've been doing, it's not easy! I hope it reflects in your next set of numbers :)

UPDATE: Well I had my appointment with the GP and it went far better than I expected. He was extremely pleased with my about turn on my BGs and the fact that I've list 8lbs in 10 days. So he is happy to keep me off meds and he will retest Hba1c in April - allowing me a tiny bit of wriggle room if I don't lose any weight over Xmas.

To say I'm happy is a gross underestimate - I am over the moon and commited to continuing my progress over the coming weeks. Big target but my Hba1c on 30 November was 101 and my target for April 2024 is to try bring it down to under 38. I've done it before so watch this space!!!

I just paid $45 for the hair cut
I would have cut it for free, and do quite a lot. Hoping to go and cut the homeless hair someday. Nothing better to make a person feel good, and nothing worse than spending $45 on a hair cut, was it with golden, magical sheers by any chance ;)

Good Morning …

FBG Fingerprick 7.8 Libre 7.3 … not a good result but after the amount of carbs consumed over the last few days its hardly suprising … Better be good for next couple of days because weekend will definitely be carb overload again. I wonder if the insulin producing companies notice a big spike in sales around Christmas like retail stores do. :)

Yes indeed, I was just trying to cut a joke ! I live modestly and money has never been a issue. I like my barber too. Thanks for the comment.

BG 4.7 mmol. Still smiling whenever I get these stunning BG readings. Have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming, coming from the fairly recent high readings. Can't wait for next time I do Hba1c test.......
Well I hope anyone struggling has the same success as I've had, after struggling myself to get readings into single figures and then ground down.... Good luck every one of you. Keep at it.......
Everybody else, well done....
You are all stars
