What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Yay! Back in the 5s at dead on 5.0 mmols @ 7:30! I tripped over yesterday and crashed to my knees (I already have a torn meniscus on my right knee which was healing nicely although very slowly). I had to walk the dogs using a stick, I hate that as it makes me feel old. I’ll have to learn to roll when I fall

Great to hear from you @Ashybang and hugs to those that want one :)
Have a lovely Monday peeps x

Winner for FBG, hug for fall

Hi All had to dash out early today but FBG was a surprising 6.6. @Ashybang so good to hear from you and you have a lot going on though I think you know LC option will help all your problems, just do what you can. @mojo37 keep hanging on in there. Btw while planning our next holiday in Cornwall I discovered that Lundy (as in harbour or island) is the Norse word for puffin! Like you I love the little guys. @RosemaryJackson doing well, right behind you.

Been seeing some scary numbers during the day lately which is causing me some concern. FBG 6.3 this morning had only dropped to 5.8 at lunch time. I then decided to have a keto chocolate shake as I'm trying to keep the cals down. Not long after, I started to feel disoriented and really hot - tested bloods 9.00! It would have been less than an hour from the shake but where did that come from? One of the ingredients I note is sucralose - 'nuff said.

5.4 this morning, dexcom.
OMG….what a day! Fresh snow on the trees and mountains and a blue sky, 3 degrees. It’s beautiful. Spent the morning raising my glucose (aka shovelling) and a workout in the basement gym. Hitting Costco this afternoon for a few things before the holidays (more dexcoms). Roads should be safe now with the warmer temperatures.

Interesting about lundy my daughter is the one who got me into these little cuties. When she was working on Iona a few summers ago we visited Staffa and I fell in love with them too .

Puffins are found on the Farne Islands off the coast at Seahouses. That's about an hour and a bit from where we live and we frequently visit that area during the Summer. Beautiful coastline and lots of interesting places. If you are into castles, there are ruins all along the coastline. There are boat trips from Seahouses that can take you around the islands. Years ago you could take a boat trip and actually visit the lighthouse on Brownsman Island, where Grace Darling lived but that was stopped to protect the bird population. :)
