What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all. 8.8 this morning!! I really have no idea why. I thought my eyes were getting better but this morning have had to bathe them open. They are very sore. Back to the doc on Monday
If you have an infection this can cause BG reading to be raised .Hopefully things will improve for you soon .

Hope you get the eyes sorted. I have flare ups of Seborrheic Dermatitis around the cheeks, nose and eyes and its horrid. I have had it in areas I never thought I would get it. I stopped all dairy and it calmed it but also had/have a steroid cream which helps. Its really nasty and every so often it will flare up and I go into hibernate mode as I cannot face being seen. Hope you feel better soon x

Morning all. I'm really early because yesterday my friend took me back to the hospital and they told me, they don't know what's the matter! So today, I have an appt with an opthalmologist in Lincoln hospital because my eyes are a bit blurry and I have a headache. They know I'm diabetic. Fingers crossed.
How they get it sorted today Rosemary, always found Lincoln really good

Morning All 7.0 today despite a good carb day. @Jordi77 really sorry to hear about the eye, am now 5 years into injections to retain sight in R eye. Are you still able to drive? Glad you’re back. @RosemaryJackson that sounds horrible so hope the hospital today will be able to help. Let us know, will be thinking of you.
Have the best Sunday you can all.

Hello mates,
At a couple of the other forums I've frequented there was a thread like this one where we all sorta checked in each day, with our first cup of coffee or tea, and reported our fasting or waking blood glucose level and some short comment about whether we're ok with it or if not - why not?...

It worked well as a sort of 'first thread to check' each morning and post to.

I'll start.

This morning was a 5.6mmol for me. That's about normal for me

What about you?
17.5 . mmol .Why do more people with issues not post? I’ve been absent from site as few with bad glucose levels post.

I'm glad you posted. I can understand how those readings can be very concerning. Please continue to post, you may help yourself figure things out as well as help someone else to realize they are not alone .

6.4 this morning. Thank you to those who post readings in mmol/l and mg/dl it really helps me out as I am only used to the mmol/l system.
Hi @May Mic

You're not alone. I suspect the majority of forum members think in terms of mmol.

In 2010, most of the world changed to using mmol/mol and mmol/litre for diabetes measurements. AFAIK, only the USA has continued to use the old percentages and mg/dl system.
