What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hope your stomach is feeling better by now @Lamont D. Very tired myself - lots to do today but none of it done. I just keep falling asleep. Slept longer than usual last night as well (about 4 hours, I think, but with the shenanigans with the clocks, I can't be sure). Did need to get up twice during that time but fell asleep again straight away. I don't even need to be sitting down to fall asleep! Been yawning a lot the last couple of days as well. Don't know if something is working on me, or if it's all this sorting out that's doing for me - not that it uses much physical energy.

You have a reason for feeling tired. I don't!
it's a sleeping sickness, ha!
I just want to keep closing my eyes.
And I can't work it out.
I am as regular every morning and because of the griping pain and feeling, I haven't been!
when I thought I would be esconsed on the throne for most of the day.
I still don't feel like eating.
I don't fancy anything even tho Mrs L still needs feeding,
Gonna watch the footie, then see what I can cold with.
You are totally ok to abstain from doing stuff. You cannot help it. You do enough despite your issues.
Best wishes.

Deserts were my downfall @ianpspurs. I never liked potatoes, pasta nor rice as I found them tasteless - so I gave them up happily. It was the unhealthy sweet stuff I loved and found so hard to give up.

Today I savoured the largest piece of white chocolate cheesecake with berry compote I have ever been served in a restaurant. It was absolutely delicious.
you're just rubbing it in aren't you?
Aaaghhhhh!

Apologies.
rant coming in.
one of my biggest bug bears is the obsession that only special workers do so over weekend, overnight, holidays.
We have needs that doesn't fall into this obsession.
for instance, we don't become I'll between 9-5 on a weekday.
We need healthcare 24/7. 52 weeks of the year.
And we need those who only work 9-5 five days a week sometimes to do their jobs.

so Maunday Thursday my daughter gets an e-mail at 2pm, advising her, her appointment on Tuesday has been cancelled. The email cites lack of confirmation for the appointment to happen.
she needs the appointment to happen while having Easter break for that day.
She phones the head office and finds no one is available till Tuesday.
She emails the head office and gets an automated response.
She phones the insurance company that is dealing with the confirmation that the appointment can happen.
It sends a copy by email to that effect to her.
It was decent of them to be open till 5pm.
She forwards that email to the head office.
She is in limbo.
She needs the appointment and has to travel fifty plus miles to the appointment.

Nothing she can do until Tuesday morning after 9am.
That is four days!
So ridiculous and unnecessary

There are four private hospitals in my metro county, three are shut during Christian holidays such as Easter and Christmas/New year. And of course the majority of the specialists are on their jollies. As well as senior management in the NHS.
I have a friend who work at that level, and he admits that there is too many chiefs and not enough indians.
I also have a friend who cleans private hospitals at holiday time.
Rant over.

The difference that so many of the country's ills, could be helped if this obsession, was improved to a 24/7 service. People need operations and the theatres are empty overnight and weekends.

The bestest cheesecake ever was a beautiful restaurant on an island in Greece. It was homemade.
With a strawberry topping and tasted like heaven. Did inches deep. The biscuit base also homemade and crumbled in the mouth.
Aaaaggggghhhhhh!

I plead guilty to the following misdemeanor yesterday:-
A quarter of a Tesco Finest lemon cheesecake and cream
2 chocolate truffles
1 chocolate digestive biscuit
1 spoonful of Cornish icecream.

”Counsels, I have heard enough.

Case dismissed

Surprised to see this coming before me.
The flimsiest of evidence.

Clearly this is a blip on an otherwise exemplary T2D Citizen.

Plaintiff is released immediately with an unblemished record.

Yes @Lamont D it was so so amazingly delicious
"Best cheesecake, You say ...mmmh

Here, hold my beer.."

( Nb.this post contains images, some viewers may find distressing

Look away now .)

Cheesecake...nom nom nom

Pre DX it was a very very rare but occasional treat.
Post DX put on the 'Toxic" list

First holiday after the accident, Lauren wanted a coffee from a shop/Cafe in lesvos she'd read about.

( Yes she does the 'research' I simply reap the rewards. She's like a female version of Antony bourdain..a real seeker of foodie hidden treasures )

I just needed a seat to rest for a bit my ol' bones

So not to feel too cheeky taking up a seat, I told her to "get me something, too ".

I got this .... :wideyed:
"Delightful but NO LAUREN, NO...."

"If the crash didn't kill you, I don't know why your worried about a bit of cheesecake" she said with a grin

"Ok, you make a good point "

O...M....G

Heaven on a dessert spoon

cheesecake in a pot
Biscuity crumbs at bottom
Goats milk creamy cheese filling
With a berries medley topping.

Did I say it was O....M....G Delicious ?

Went back last year, talking non stop about visiting etc etc ..

Closed down..... :arghh: :arghh: :arghh:

Probably for the best, but my goodness , the memory of that first spoonful ....heaven

Look away...NOW

Hu hum ...I said look away.

OK, here it is

Best wishes you feel a little more refreshed asap @Annb

Easy to think we're not doing much, and underestimate how much energy it takes just standing around & mentally sorting many issues...even if you think it's just simple decisions...imho.

Normal chores as well.
And on top of that a bad night, not feeling well at all. Really tired, exhausted, just not right, a bit of stomach flu, cold, I'm now trying to get comfortable on my chair, yawning constantly, but still in demand from Mrs L.
Hug for the malady of the stomach etc

Compounded sadly by needing to look after someone else, when it should be you being looked after, my friend.

Hidden reserves being dug out at an amazing rate.

Hope to read of improvement over the next few days .

Conserve what you can & maybe for now the fasting is the best option.

Hears to a returning appetite asap.

That looks so delicious @jjraak. What a shame the cafe has closed down.

I think the cafe closed as they knew @jjraak was coming back and demanding that the poor woman who suffered making these treats.
Looks wonderful tho.

Getting away with guilty pleasure, is not advice, that is often used on this site m'lud.
Occasional treats maybe?
Are you sure your not a dietician recommending so called healthy options?
Is there no courtroom tactics you won't use?
And I suppose you disposed of the evidence?

I rest my case and my **** into my lot
I'm tasting that cheesecake. OMG.

Have a restful night.
Dreams of cheesecake Greek beaches.

Evening chaps and chapesses and if anyone identifies as gender neutral, good evening to you too.
4.6 mmol on waking at 6.00 am this Easter Sunday.

What lovely wildlife videos! @gennepher.

Not all is peace and harmony here. The breeding season is in full swing and our male Wood Pigeons have become fiercely territorial.
Sadly, our resident Robins, a pair we've fed by hand since December, have lost their first brood.
On a brighter note, Blue T i t s are using the nest box opposite my study window and I've noticed Great T its inspecting a box with a larger entrance hole on a tree nearby.
The food on the bird station is rapidly disappearing. It feels as though we're feeding our neighbours' wildlife as well as our own!

I think that I also will be dreaming of cheesecake and Greek beaches @Lamont D

None for me...I am being a good girl...even at Easter...

But I can look and sniff at the strawberryness...

Oops that looks delicious, my BG is going up, so I can only look. The Great British Baking Show is my favorite show, and I don’t eat sweets. Thanks for sharing! Omar

Hi @LivingLightly
Thank you.

The bird life here are getting into squabbles...
Very noisy.
'My' wood pigeons are quite calm and affable at the moment.
I never thought of writing BlueTits your way. This way has worked so far...
The birds are very noisy here...
