What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Sorry to hear that JKP hurt herself in a fall and that you have injured yourself. They both sound very painful. Hope you both become more comfortable soon. Time for both of you to take things a bit easy, I should think. Take care.
Thanks @Annb. No school pickups or hospital appointments gives some breathing space. You take care yourself.

JKP tripped last Thursday and has grazes and bruises such that she can only use one hand. She finds sleeping difficult anyhow so the elbow grazes don't help. I had an inner thigh muscle literally pop and have a massive bruise from groin to knee so step count is minimal.
So sorry that you are both in pain @ianpspurs . Hope that you and JKP feel a lot more comfortable very soon

Thanks for your concern. I'm not in pain just needing not to make things worse so I can help JKP without making things worse. Perfect excuse to watch all the sport this week.

Morning everyone, Happy Sunday 4.55 mmol/L 82 mg/dL. Nobody can make you happy until you are happy with yourself. Even though the mileage effects are obvious, most of the time I am happy with myself, my lifestyle, FBG/ A1c and I am not taking any medicine. Have a nice day everyone!

Will power!
I know him and his brother Max Power.

And I'm serious.
A Max Power played football for my home town club. And I met his brother William.
everyone called him Bill for some reason.
Their dad was a little short of a bi t of Scouse nous.goal
his name was George.

Good morning everyone on a decidedly damp start to the beginning of the month here in the dark and dangerous north. Today we are sailing down to Rio. Well, driving to Birmingham in the rain but that doesn’t sound much fun. I have already packed my best socks and matching cravat to blend in with the Black Country folk. Art bit, a bloke on a boat. Hope your day is not as damp as it is here. Best have koffy and get on.

An ark?
brilliant.

Great art bit @dunelm
Cherry blossom time...

Take care on your drive...some flooding here, not a day to go out in...

You need a duck car...to cope with the flooded roads, but I wouldn't try it through a river...

there is one in Liverpool that has gone in the Mersey.
not sure if intentional or the local teens.

5.6 at 03:30 today. No breakfast yet - it's just cooking at the moment - but 2 cups of tea and BG is now 5.4. As often happens, I ended up with only one meal yesterday and just a slice of cheese later in the day. I expect that is why BG was low. Also, the last day or so, I have been eating only animal products and will try that for about a month to see what effect that has on BG and weight. Not sure that I will make it to a month because not sure what effect it will have on my digestion. My friend, who is inspiring me by her magnificent weight loss, to try this, has no problem with the diet, but as we all know, one size doesn't fit all.
there is no argument about having a small salad with the animal products, as this is my control of BG levels.

When I was stationed at Mountbatten we had a guy called James, James Bond and his service number ended in 007 he was given that service number so he was 007 James Bond.

Ouch ouchie

Poor JKP ....

And. Ouch ...yours sounds nasty too.

Good it's not more serious, lots of veins running down those legs.

Hope the day was restful as can be, given the circumstances

No fbg.
still not 100% but better today.
had to catch up with chores and Easter weekend wreckage from family and Mrs L.
shop was visited three times to placate Mrs L.
Missed footie this aftee, first time for a while. Not good enough to make the trip in the rain and it hasn't stopped all day. Energy levels needed for kitchen, bedroom, front room and Mrs L duties. Still tired. Still not been.
Sorry @ianpspurs bout your trip and the agony of not being able to do your husband duties. And look after your beloved. And I have kept an eye on the live footie on the box, dirty Leeds on now!
I'm late I know, but no apologies, by the time I started back on here and got through the posts, and back and forth, up and down and so on, it's nearly bed time.

Mrs L has been relentless today, as her mind has wandered through lack of sleep, and the unfathomable reasoning with her imaginings of events and activities.
Why aren't you doing this?
Why are you still here?
What time are you going out?
What time is your appointment?
When are you going to work?
What time is the woman coming?
Why are they coming?
Don't want them here!
Do you want chippy?
Or shall I order a pizza?
Can you turn the cooker on for the meat?
Have you get the Easter eggs?
Are you going to do a big shop?
Can we go out?
Can I have more tea?
What's for Sunday lunch?
And many more on a rota.
Finally, why didn't you go the match?
Not once, did Mrs L ask if I was better?

Normal day.

Not ate much today, can't face it still.

Gotta go, gonna try and get Mrs L to her pit.
Wish me luck.
My best wishes to you all as always!

5.6 at 03:30 today. 5.4 now, currently on my 2nd cup of tea and about an hour after my basal insulin.

Neil is going shopping for me today, as well as taking a load of junk to the recycling plant. I have more cooking to do to get spare veg into the freezer. Then I can go through more things to be sorted and see if there's another load to take to dump or recycle. Last bin day, Neil didn't manage to get the bin out in time (or last recycle day, for that matter, but they took us by surprise by doing their collection the other way round so got here long before they normally would) but he put it out by 07:00 today - they'll probably come late because of that.

Did really well keeping low carb yesterday. It feels really good to know that I can have sweet treats on special occasions if I keep to low carb in between. My next special occasion is in May.

Until then my sweet treat is berries, yoghurt and inulin. But not just any inulin - it has to be Pink Sun inulin. All the others don't taste sweet to me - they just taste like cardboard and I have tried them all.

I did contact Pink Sun to find out why theirs is much sweeter than any other inulin. They said that it was pure inulin - nothing else. They seem a legitimate company with a soil association licence.

Maybe I just have weird taste buds. I often used to think that I was the only person in the world who thought rice, pasta and potatoes were absolutely tasteless and chinese takeaways were beyond yuk. Actually, I am probably the only person in the world who does think this.

Gotta laugh!

I hate Chinese cos it is as bland as some English cooking.
Mind you I have been told by doctors I'm weird!
